Stephen, a shell-shockedVietnam veteran, returns from a mental hospital, which he entered voluntarily because he was suffering from nightmares about the war and had in consequence lost three jobs in a row. After having been treated and finally coming home again, he gets a new job as custodial engineer at a grammar school, but loses it again within less than one week because of a law forbidding people who spent time in a mental hospital to work within the vicinity of children. However, the Simmons family desperately needs money, so Stephen continues looking for work, and finds a job picking potatoes. There he makes friends with a man called Moe Henry, with whose help he succeeds in obtaining a job working in a mine - his best one yet.
In the meantime, the twins Lidia and Stu try to get away from the dreary reality of their lives. They find a tree in a forest close to their house and decide to build a tree house there. At first they and their friends argue over who has to construct it and who is allowed to use it; the three boys - Stu, Chet and Marsh - want it all to themselves, while the girls - Lidia, Elvadine and Amber - want them to work on it and share it afterwards. After several deals, they agree to build the tree house together. The girls get everything they need from the garbage heap belonging to the Lipnickis, a neighboring family with a reputation for bullying, who have a grudge against the Simmons and their friends. Unfortunately Billy, the youngest of the Lipnicki kids, discovers Lidia, Elvadine and Amber on his father's territory, so the girls have to pay him to keep quiet, but later after he falls under a candy coma his brothers force him to betray Lidia's secret.
"The War" is a song by the American rock band Angels & Airwaves. It was the fourth single from their debut studio album, We Don't Need to Whisper (2006), released on Geffen Records. It peaked at number nineteen on Billboard'sHot Modern Rock Tracks chart in 2007. Tom DeLonge has described this song as anti-war, with specific references to the Invasion of Normandy in World War II. "The War" was the last song the band would play, during their We Don't Need to Whisper concerts, with Tom making a speech during the bridge.
Videos
Although "The War" never received an official music video, a short film and a live video were released. The short film depicts a futuristic environment, a battle on a beach where enemy combatants shoot up through the sand from an underground facility of some kind. After the battle, the underground facility is shown. In this facility, there is a character who is strapped to a hospital type bed. He breaks free and is shown escaping from the facility, running from the soldiers who occupy the facility and then becoming trapped on the top of a cliff with no place to go. As the enemy approaches at the end of the video, the character falls backward off of the cliff. This character is played by Bradley Horne, which is notable because he also played the significant role of Captain Lee Briggs in the 2011 Angels and Airwaves Science Fiction film, Love.
"The War" is a song by The New Power Generation, headed by Prince (his alias at that time being an unpronounceable symbol) from 1998. The song was initially given away to customers who pre-ordered Prince's Crystal Ball album and experienced delivery troubles. The song is not from any album. It was also available as a music download on Prince's now-defunct website, the NPG Music Club. A promo CD single of The War was also available for purchase through 1-800-New-Funk and online.
The original 45 minute jam was edited down to 26 minutes. The song mostly uses distorted guitars and synthesizers. Prince encourages the audience to chant throughout "The evolution will be colorized", which makes reference to Gil Scott-Heron's poem/song "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised". The lyrics are sermon-like, warning against harmful technology and the forecoming of the Apocalypse.
The songs also performed the same night as "The War" was recorded were:
The Troy Transit Center brings together the services of Amtrak, Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation (SMART) buses and taxis. Designed by local architectural firm Neumann/Smith, the one story, 2,000 square foot brick building includes a waiting room and restrooms; large expanses of glass allow natural light to flood the interior. A pedestrian bridge over the tracks allows access to the western platform and protects passengers from inclement weather.
History
In 2000, Grand Sakwa Properties gave the city of Troy title to 77 acres, 2.7 of which would be donated with the provision that funding for a transit center be secured within 10 years. In 2011, the cities of Birmingham and Troy were awarded a federal grant to assist in replacing the existing station with a new, multimodal transit center across the tracks in Troy. However, the mayor of Troy rejected the funding on ideological grounds, thus terminating the project. The $6.6 million project was resurrected by a subsequent Troy city administration, and broke ground on November 27, 2012, and was completed in October 2013. A legal dispute over title to the land kept the center from opening. In late September 2014, a settlement by Troy to acquire the land and lease the site to Amtrak was reached, and the station opened on October 14, 2014.
Troy is a trilogy of radio plays, first broadcast on BBC Radio 3 from 28 November to 30 November 1998. The cast is led by Paul Scofield, who came out of retirement to take part. Troy was written by Andrew Rissik and produced by Jeremy Mortimer. The trilogy is a companion piece to King Priam, Rissik's earlier more optimistic take on the story in which Scofield took the title role.
The three parts of Troy are
King Priam and His Sons
The Death of Achilles
Helen at Ephesus
Troy was repeated the year following its first transmission and has been broadcast on BBC Radio 7 every year from 2004 to 2009 and on its successor channel BBC Radio 4 Extra in 2012. It has also been broadcast in other countries, for example by ABC Classic FM in 1999 and 2000.
Cast
Episodes
Troy consists of three 90-minute plays.
King Priam and His Sons
The first episode starts with the events around Paris's birth, the prophecies that he would bring about the destruction of Troy and King Priam's decision to have him exposed on Mount Ida. It continues with his decision to leave his foster-father Anacreon and lover Oenone to go to Troy to plead for the return of a bull that is being taken there for sacrifice and Priam's subsequent recognition and acceptance of him as his son. It concludes with Paris's elopement with Helen from Sparta and Priam's decision to support the two lovers rather than return Helen to her husband Menalaus and his consequent acceptance of the war with the Greeks.

The Hidden History Of The Albanians Part 1

Albanian History holds much controversy as mainstream Albanian history has done very little if any actual scientific study on the ethnogenesis of the Albanian people. Albanian History holds much controversy as mainstream Albanian history has done very little if any actual scientific study on the ethnogenesis of the Albanian people. Along with Serbian History, both Albanian History and Serbian History share a mutual connection which is larger than previously thought.
Teodora Toleva, PhD discovered secret documents that were hidden in the Vienna Royal Archives, that showed how the Austro-Hungarian empire, following 3 secret conferences held in the late 19th century, set the plan to create an Albanian nation.
The idea was to unite and combine all of these various tribes of different ethnicities that could not mutually understand one another and held conflicts. They would also set to make plans to Albanize the Serb and Greek population, therefore creating an artificial nation where a unified language, alphabet was put in place. This was all done for Austro-Hungarian Geopolitical purposes of preventing Serbia from reclaiming lost land from the crumbling Ottoman Empire as well as restricting Serbia’s access to the Adriatic sea.
Albanian history would then become falsified by Austro-Hungarian historians such as Von Hahn, Benjamin Von Kallay, Baron Von Zweideneck. They would create a pseudo-romantic narrative that portrays the present day Albanians as ancient Illyrians, a theory that lacks all evidence and primary sources. This was done for Austria-Hungary geopolitical goals such as creating a nation that will antagonise the Serbs and prevent Serbia from having access to the Adriatic sea.
A true look at genetical, archeological, linguistical as well as historical records reveals a completely different picture about the fascinating history of the Albanians.
In Eastern Roman (Byzantine) sources, Albanois are first mentioned in the 11th century by Michael Attaleiates. These are the Normans along with other mercenaries such as the Varangians that are found in Italy. In the period from the 12th to the 15th century, in Byzantine sources, these new settlers and migrants are mentioned as Arbanitoi, Arvanite, Alvani and Alvanite.
All of these terms are greek and latin metathesis-altered terms of the original term Rabanasi denoting the new settlers that settled around the mountain Raban.
Ptolemy's mention of Albani and Albanopolis is a Greco-Roman metathesis of the original Raban and Albanopolis being Belgrade (White City)
Michael Attaleiates and Michael Psellos, Byzantine historians from the 11th century, described the attempt of the Eastern Roman (Byzantine) General from Sicily, George Maniakes, who attempted to take the Eastern Roman throne with the army he had gathered in Sicily and southern Italy and landed in Durres across the Adriatic sea. He bought with him the Albanois who were ethnically Normans, Franks, Varangians and even Christianized Berbers.
These mercenaries such as the Maniaketes who named themselves after George Maniakes and others who came as reserve companies for George Maniakete's war campaign against Constantine IX settled in Albania. When Maniaketes got killed at the battle of Ostrovo, they could not return to Italy and Sicily, because the ships that brought them returned as soon as the soldiers disembarked. These “so-called Albanians” as Anna Komnena referred to them as, settled in the area of Raban, near Kroja, which became their center.
These migrants were a mixture of Franks, Latins, Berbers, possibly Armenians as well. They were referred to as Albanois even in Italy, a Latin-Frankish term for someone who is not indigenous on the region that they are in, basically a foreigner.
Evliya Celebi, a prominent Turkish historian during his travels to the balkans, encountered these tribes in the 16th century. He noted in his travel book called “Seyahatname” that these tribes told him of their origins.
Some claimed to have Arabic / Berber ancestry and said that they mingled with the Franks at the time of their arrival and therefor due to there symbiosis with the so-called “Albanians” of Italy produced the Albanian tongue which was at the time a mixture of Frankish/Berber Arabic.
According to earlier Eastern Roman (Byzantine) sources such as Stefanos Byzantinus, it was reported that the Mirditi tribe of Albania are the descendants of Mardaites whom Emperor Justinian II bought over from Syria. Mardaites came from Syria along with Khurramites settled by the region of the Durres.

The Hidden History of the Albanians part 2 continues further into in-depth examination of Albanian history. It covers the arrival of the corsair pirates who were Berbers of north Africa that settled around various places in Albania, Along with the arrival of Saracen Berbers from Lucera, Italy. These North African Berbers would contribute vastly to the ethnogenesis of today's Albanian nation especially through linguistics, culture, and genetics. This topic is something that has been covered very little in today’s mainstream Albanian history.
In 1205, Durres fell under the rule of the Republic of Venice and then the Duchy of Durazzo was founded. Meanwhile in Italy In 1224 however, Frederick II, responding to religious uprisings in Sicily, expelled all Muslim Berbers from the island, transferring many to the fortress of Lucera over the next two decades.
Not long after the death of Charles the 1st, The city of Lucera was sacked in 1300 by Catholic forces under the command of Charles II of Naples. The city's Muslim Berber inhabitants were exiled or sold into slavery, with many finding asylum in Albania across the Adriatic Sea. This introduced another wave of Berber-Arab migration in the land of Albania.
John VI Kantakouzenos, Greek nobleman, statesman, and general, stated that various migrants began to flood the region of Albania in the early 14th century, all originating from the port of Durres. This coincides with the fall of Lucera and the arrival of the Berber-Saracen refugees in the land of Albania.
Interestingly enough, Ottoman Traveller and Historian Evliya Celebi recording his commentary in his book of travels called Seyâhatnâme mentioned the franks. Travelling through southern Albania in 1670, Ottoman traveller Evliya Celebi (1611-1684) recounts the legend of the Arab sheikh Jabal-i Alhama, who fled to the mountains of Kurvelesh in Albania and died in Elbasan. According to Evliya, he is the father of some of these tribes of Albania. Evliya Celebi also stated that the Albanian language was formed through a mixture of Frankish-Arabic. The Frankish element would have been introduced earlier from the arrival of the Normans as well as the mercenaries of George Maniakes.
"Among the Albanians still persist the names Cabires and Mardaites, the Chaonians or Liap still call themselves Kurvelies, and the mountaineers of Scodra, Mirdites. As we shall see, the modern Kurvelies were also designated by the Byzantines under the name of the Mardaites."
Sathas, K.N. (1890). Documents inédits relatifs à l'histoire de la Grèce au Moyen âge publiés sous les auspices de la Chambre des députés de Grèce
According to medieval texts, Justinian II (in 690s) relocated a large number of Mardaites to the southern coast of Asia Minor, particularly Pamphylia, Lycia and Cilicia. Later on, in the 9th century, Mardaites moved to the themes of the Peloponnese, Epirus (including Acarnania, Aetolia) and Cephalenia.
An in-depth examination at the term Arnaut is provided, linking it with the Turkish term Bashi-Bazouks and mercenary. Arnaut is a term that has become later falsified in mainstream history to represent someone of Shqiptar Albanian origin but in fact it was a term that corresponded to a mercenary and especially a hired soldier from the region of Arnavutluk, the Turkish term for Albania. These soldiers were not ethnically Shqiptars but actually came from many different ethnic backgrounds.
We explore the history of the north African Corsair that were used as navy fleets by the Ottomans. These north African Corsair pirates would explore the coasts of Albania and would settle in certain various regions around Albania, Greece and Montenegro. They would be known for pillaging, stealing and raiding.
Berber cultural traits have been found amongst today's Albanians such as the Tagelemust headwear, which is not found in any neighbouring country within the Balkan region or Anatolia. Along with Y-DNA North African genes present amongst some Albanians today as well as Berber words found in the Albanian language, these are all undeniable evidence of Berber influence that exists amongst the Albanians of today.

This is a list of historical and living Albanians (ethnic Albanian people or people of full or partial Albanian ancestry) who are famous or notable, sorted by occupation and name.
This is where I'll always be Don't forget me, just don't forget me This is where I will always be Your sincerity destroyed me This is killing me, I promise, you're killing me. Please explain your method because it all seems like madness right now. And I can't feel your lips between my teeth But I still taste the blood inside my cheek. I am the coward that hides behind his anger You are the light revealing the true me Worn thin- stretched to the brink of tearing Send me a message, throw me a line I found the body and the blood trail We're running out of time... This is where I will always be Don't forget me, don't forget me Just pull the plug, pull the plug and watch me suffer I swear this place is killing me The light is gone but strangely I feel comfort They said there were plans drawn up for a last minute rescue But my faith has drifted off to sleep Wake me up, drag me out of bed quickly now Don't let me down again Would you believe your stories are the medication I need? This is where I will always be Don't forget me, don't forget me Just pull the plug, pull the plug and watch me suffer I swear this place is killing me The light is gone but strangely I feel comfort Its terrifying... your confidence in dying It feels so cut-throat, this competition's cut-throat. I don't want to fight eternity alone Just pull the plug Now watch me suffer The light is gone, but strangely I feel comfort
