Skye Edwards (born Shirley Klaris Yonavieve Edwards; 27 May 1974) is a British singer-songwriter. Her career began in 1994 when she and the Godfrey brothers (Paul Godfrey, a DJ, and Ross Godfrey, a multiinstrumentalist) formed Morcheeba, which released five albums with Skye as lead vocalist. In 2003, the band split, after which Skye released two solo albums: Mind How You Go in 2006, and Keeping Secrets in 2009. In 2010, Edwards returned to Morcheeba, again as lead vocalist. In 2012, she released her third solo album, Back to Now.
Edwards decided to shorten her name to Skye by taking the first letter of each of her names and putting them together. She is married to bass player Steve Gordon and they have three children. Edwards has sung on two charity collaborations: Perfect Day (1997, in aid of Children in Need) and Band Aid 20 (2004, in aid of famine relief in Sudan, Africa).
Early life
Edwards was born in London and grew up in the East End. Of Jamaican heritage, she was fostered by white parents from an early age. She described her growing up as 'I always say it was fish and chips, not rice and peas in our house'. Her first musical influences were the country and western records of her mother.
"Keeping Secrets" is the second single in Motor Ace's second album Shoot This. Along with Carry On it is the most publicly played Motor Ace song with the single reaching the top 10 on the ARIA charts in Australia during 2002.
Interpretation
A hooky, guitar driven intro blends into an impassioned narrative that explodes into one of the most melodic choruses heard this year. Vocalist Patrick Robertson said that the song is “…about having the best night of your life…feeling the anticipation of the night ahead – the night you’ve been waiting for all week long. ‘Keeping Secrets’ refers to the idea that the ‘city lights’ hold the secret to the nights pleasures and dramas, to the unpredictability that makes life exciting.”
Inside is a 1996 cable television film directed by Arthur Penn based on a script by Bima Stagg. The film was shot in Johannesburg, South Africa and premiered in the USA on Showtime on 25 August 1996. The film was then released theatrically in several markets and played at several film festivals around the world including Cannes, Toronto, San Francisco and Munich. The film was nominated for an Emmy, and a Cable Ace Award.
Plot
Colonel Kruger (Nigel Hawthorne) tortures a political prisoner (Eric Stoltz) to learn who his anti-apartheid collaborators are. Ten years later, this same Colonel himself becomes a prisoner and is interrogated about his own offenses.
"Inside" is a song written by Mike Reid, and recorded by American country music singer Ronnie Milsap. It was released in November 1982 as the third single and title track from the album Inside. The song extended his early 1980s success as both a country and crossover artist when it reached its peak popularity in early 1983.
About the song
"Inside" was Milsap's 21st No. 1 hit on the BillboardHot Country Singles chart, it was the first chart-topper as a songwriter for Country musician Reid. Throughout the 1980s, Milsap recorded several Reid-penned songs which would become No. 1 hits.
The B-side to the "Inside" single was "Carolina Dreams." Written by Kye Fleming and Dennis Morgan (the songwriting duo who had written several past hits for Milsap, and many of Barbara Mandrell's hits), the song never charted on the Hot Country Singles chart as its own single, but remained a B-side "tag-along" throughout the chart run for "Inside."
In the science fictiontelevision seriesStargate Atlantis, the Wraith are the original enemy alien species, first introduced in the pilot episode "Rising". In the series, they are a vampire-like telepathic race who feed on the "life-force" of humans, and are the dominant power in the Pegasus galaxy. The first season of Atlantis is focused on the main characters finding a way to survive an overwhelming attack by the Wraith. Although in the later seasons new enemies have taken some of the attention away from the Wraith, they remain a potent and ever-present threat to the Atlantis Expedition.
All of the named Wraith who have appeared on Stargate Atlantis are named by humans, as it is unknown whether wraith even have names. John Sheppard often gives captured Wraith amusing/generic Earth names. The majority of non-warrior male and female Wraith were played by the same actors, James Lafazanos and Andee Frizzell respectively. James Lafazanos left the show after season 2. Other male Wraith have been played by Christopher Heyerdahl (season 3 onwards), Jeffrey C. Robinson (season 2), Dan Payne (season 3), James Bamford (season 3), Brendan Penny (season 4), Tyler McClendon (season 5) and Neil Jackson (season 5).

Being in a cover band we needed a demo to hand to venue's to try and get gig's. So once again we recorded some songs at home for this. Once again Cool Edit Pro was used to do this.
Me and my AMAZINGLY talented friend Chris Collins [of Planet of the Stereos fame] sit around a fire at 2am and sing one of our favourite Motor Ace songs, 'Keeping Secrets'
In a minute, the whole world can change A minute, and everything is different Maybe it's fate, maybe it's somthing else If the world stopped spinning Never would be excact to me. As it is now Let's go back for a second Or we could stay in this frozen frame Very unlike you to be like this Everyday you grow different from this weird sane Will the days grow shorter If they do, will you be there To get me through How will you get my through Tell me you love me Hold me tight Or you could hate me Maybe you might And maybe you do Stop if you do Just kiss my lips And hug me when you can Me and you together, we dropped Everything and ran So far, so fast, so little time Here's to you I am in love with you Love that is strong Love from me to you
