Turn On the Bright Lights is the debut studio album by the American rock band Interpol, released in August 2002. The album was recorded in November 2001 at Tarquin Studios in Connecticut, and was co-produced, mixed and engineered by Peter Katis and Gareth Jones. It was released on August 19, 2002 in the United Kingdom and August 20 in the United States, through independent record labelMatador Records. Upon release, the record peaked at number 101 on the UK Albums Chart. It reached number 158 on the Billboard 200 in the United States, as well as spending 73 weeks in the Billboard Independent Albums, peaking at number five.
"PDA", "NYC", "Obstacle 1" and "Say Hello to the Angels" were the singles from Turn On the Bright Lights, and a video was shot for each with the exception of "Say Hello to the Angels".
The album was certified Gold by the RIAA on August 29, 2011 for shipments of 500,000 copies.
A remastered version of the album was released in 2012 to commemorate its tenth anniversary. It featured additional material including demo recordings of several tracks, the bonus songs previously available on international releases and a DVD of live performances and music videos.
The New 52 is a 2011 revamp and relaunch by DC Comics of its entire line of ongoing monthly superhero comic books. Following the conclusion of the "Flashpoint" crossover storyline, DC cancelled all of its existing titles and debuted 52 new series in September 2011 with new first issues. Among the series being renumbered are Action Comics and Detective Comics, which had retained their original numbering since the 1930s.
The relaunch included changes to the publishing format; for example, print and digital comics are now released on the same day. New titles were released to bring the number of ongoing monthly series to fifty-two. Various changes were also made to DC's fictional universe to entice new readers, including to DC's internal continuity to make characters more modern and accessible. As well, characters from the former Wildstorm and Vertigo imprint were absorbed into the DC Universe.
The New 52 branding ended after the completion of the "Convergence" storyline in May 2015, although the continuity of the New 52 continued. In June 2015, 24 new titles were launched, alongside 25 returning titles, with several of those receiving new creative teams.

Momus plays Tel Aviv as Elvis rocks Seattle.....
An original song about one weekend. My hero sang to my oppressors in Israel, as my bff left me for a girl named Elvis. Around this time, the pentecostal church I grew up in, in Kimberly, Alabama, was destroyed by tornado.

Amen.

jumped off the yacht with no thought, no boat, no hope no rope no paddle
and let the angry waters’ carry me home
to my nightmare castle…
by the grace of lord
a tornado came through my town
the church of god was leveled reduced to holy ground
with the people inside praying,to be kept safe and sound
the lord took one big breath and blew his whole house down
i heard the guilt was so deep that day , 7 people drown
in a city of 200- the bodies were not found
if there were witnesses, none hung around
the reverend lost his pulpit, now he’s preaching from a mound
where two or 3 are gathered, he abounds! like the sermon on the mount
the ones left to gather are the devout
and don’t forget to thank the Lord for pointing all this out
in the middle of a storm, walk on the water, don’t look down
in your soul it resounds
to yrself it confounds
to yr friends it astounds
keep your gaze on the crown,
until the tour runs aground
in the corner of my mind,
black eyed angels gather round
saying theres nothing to fear, amen
nothing to doubt
it’s old and totally over now
but if your still around
the engagements are booked through the end of the world,
\
so let’s meet at the end of the war…
the tour has been booked forever,
hold tight, we’re in for nasty weather
treading the sea of her troubled mind,
i had to leave my self behind
only to be swept away by the angry tide…
now its buh bye i tried
and I wonder sometimes
what was i to find?
but my wonder is just another waste of time
and I didn’t even get to say goodbye
promise me you will find some time
to call or write
like willie nelson you are always on my mind
like my favorite rug pissed on by thugs, that really tied
the room together, someone better will take time to find
and even though its slow
time will go by
all kidding aside,
this aint no joke
my heart is broke,
you win till then
the dude abides
look over the river Jordan, tell me what you see?coming for to carry me home?
a boy band of Angels singing for me
coming for to carry me home?
I tried to wave my savior down, hoping for a ride to town
but his entourage of angels, never even looked or slowed down,
and they flew above my head, across the wall- to holy ground,
and I awoke, sand in my mouth , in a mirage I drowned.
you waved a flash of red, and made it Bah-Rain Dinar
I scrambled to pick up every coin to stash in my bell jar
my collection- my ingenue- in my east a fading star-
pulling me like a magnet- until I have been pulled way too far
away from where I started, with no map, dude, where’s my car??
mosheik has a plan, for a man in japan
the dust in my hair
the wind in my heart….
the dust in my hair
the wind in my heart….
the dust in my hair
the wind in my heart….

In a time of plague We were young and gay And while money reigned Minorities were wiped out every day But we had tailors We were getting famous With the patronage of William Burroughs And also Kathy Acker Our pens would save the day Singing 'tirra lirra tirra lirra tirra lirra gabba gabba hey' And our heroes were (and our heroes were) Nightclub entrepreneurs (nightclub entrepreneurs) Our novellas were Metaphors and deconstructions Architects Who blow up their own buildings While Reagan and Thatcher reigned we got famous Not all of us survived As happens in time of plague Singing 'tirra lirra tirra lirra tirra lirra gabba gabba hey' In a gilded time (in a gilded time) When death was king (death was king) A group of authors Began to write a new Decameron Whose elegance Bordered on the Florentine And when the 90s came We were immune to plague To every known strain
