The Advent is a British electronic music act. It was originally founded in 1993 by Cisco Ferreira and Colin McBean. Soon after leaving school, Ferreira began working as an engineer at Jack Trax Records, a job which enabled him to glimpse first-hand the work of such artists as Derrick May and Marshall Jefferson. He began recording in 1988 with C.J. Bolland as Space Opera (eventually releasing four singles for R&S Records) and also recorded the first single for Fragile ("Why Don't You Answer" as himself) before meeting McBean, a top DJ who had worked with Keith Franklin of Bang the Party as the DJ team KCC.
History
The pair began recording together in 1990; their first activity was an engineering job for Fade to Black (aka Jay Denham), but later they debuted on vinyl with their first single, recorded for inclusion on a sampler by Network Records. The official debut of The Advent came in 1994, just after Ferreira signed to Internal Records (also the home of Orbital). He convinced McBean to join him in the recording of a series of crucially limited singles, then the debut album Elements of Life in late 1995. Critics championed the duo's energetic update of original techno renegades like Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson, and The Advent followed with the remix album Shaded Elementz one year later. Their second full album New Beginning was released 28 April 1997, though Internal Records dropped the duo soon after its release. After transferring to the Metalbox division of Northwest/BMG, The Advent returned later that year with another remix album titled Kombination Phunk, which alternated remixes with several original productions.
Arrival also known as The Advent or Jiang Lin (降临), is the debut EP by Mandopopboy band, Top Combine. The EP was released on October 26, 2008 in People's Republic of China by EE Media. The EP was also released in two separate versions, a "black" version and a "gold" version.
Arrival is influenced by K-pop melodies, which has heavy focuses on hip hop, R&B, and dance-pop. A majority of the EP was produced and recorded in South Korea in March 2008, and the EP is also produced by several famous Korean producers, such as Kim Kibom. The music video for the EP's first promotional single, "Arrival", was also filmed in South Korea, directed by Chun Hyuk-jin, the same director who directed some music videos for SM Entertainment artists.
Recording and promotion
The EP was recorded in South Korea under the supervision of Doremi Media, Top Combine's management in Korea. Kim Kibom, the producer of the title single "Arrival," produced the song "especially for the group." Influenced by modern K-pop, the single is produced with elements of hip hop, rock, and contemporary dance-pop. Vocally, the single incorporates harmonization and rap, arguably similar to SM Entertainment's SMP genre. The side tracks of the album, such as "Cotton Candy", "Next Stop, Forever," etc. are less concentrated on hip hop, but they are portrayed as a faction of bubblegum pop. "Cotton Candy" was also composed and written by Top Combine member, Mars Ma.
The Advent is a quarterly magazine produced by the Sri Aurobindo Ashram, and is "Dedicated to the Exposition of Sri Aurobindo's Vision of the Future". The first issue appeared on 21 February 1944. Early issues were printed in Madras, later on publication was relocated to the ashram at Pondicherry.
The Advent often featured material by Sri Aurobindo. Chapters VI to XII of The Synthesis of Yoga in their revised form first appeared serially from August 1946 to April 1948. Sections of Savitri were published in 1946 and 1947. A series of six articles from Sri Aurobindo's early writings (the Baroda period), comprising Philosophy of the Upanishads and one On Translating the Upanishads, appeared in The Advent in 1953. A number of aphorisms and later poems and also translations of a number of hymns to Indra (the latter was later published in The Secret of the Veda) have also appeared.
Nolini Kanta Gupta was the editor until he died in 1983 when M. P. Pandit took over. Samir Kanto Gupta is the present editor.
Dame sobh (Persian:دم صبح, Dam-e Sobh, English title: Day Break) is an award-winning 2005 independent film from Iranian director Hamid Rahmanian. It depicts a man on death row whose execution is repeatedly delayed because the family of the victim does not appear for his execution (which is necessary for an execution to take place under Iranian law). Some parts of the film are filmed like a documentary (docudrama), with characters addressing the camera crew or looking into the camera, but most of the scenes, including frequent flashbacks, are filmed in the traditional style of a fictional film.
The film sets in with the written statement that "This film is based on true events"; later in the introduction of the film, it is added that it is "based on a story by Hamid Rahmanian". The cover of the DVD release by Film Movement describes the film as "based on a compilation of true stories" and adds that it was "shot inside Tehran's century-old prison".
With few exceptions (e.g., Şafak in Turkey), the film has been internationally screened under the title Day Break. In the United States, the film is not rated, but according to the cover of its DVD release is "not recommended for ages under 17 without parental permission".
Day Break is a television program for which one 13-episode season was produced. The series starred Taye Diggs as Detective Brett Hopper, who is framed for the murder of Assistant District Attorney Alberto Garza. Due to a time loop, Hopper lives the same day over and over. The series revolves around his attempt to solve the mystery of the murder, and find out who is behind the conspiracy to frame him.
The series aired on the ABC network, and premiered on November 15, 2006. Rapidly declining ratings led to the show being cancelled on December 15 after only six episodes had aired. The remaining episodes were subsequently made available online at ABC.com. Viewers for the show averaged 6.5 million.
On March 16, 2008, the TV One cable network began airing the six previously broadcast episodes. On April 20, the network began Sunday evening broadcasts of the remaining seven episodes, which had never been seen on television.
Synopsis
Los Angeles Detective Brett Hopper is stuck repeating the same day, in which he is framed for the murder of the Assistant District Attorney, Alberto Garza. Each day, he attempts to uncover clues to the homicide that has him on the run for his freedom. Hopper must clear his name, but those close to him get caught in the web of conspiracy that will put their lives in danger.

You'll never see The courage I know Its colors' richness won't Appear within your view I'll never glow The way that you glow Your presence dominates The judgements made on you But as the scenery grows I see in different lights The shades and shadows Undulate in my perception My feelings swell and stretch I see from greater heights I understand what I am still Too proud to mention To you You'll say you understand But you don't understand You'll say you'd never Give up seeing eye to eye But never is a promise And you can't afford to lie You'll never touch These things that I hold The skin of my emotions Lies beneath my own You'll never feel The heat of this soul My fever burns me deeper Than I've ever shown To you You'll say Don't fear your dreams It's easier than it seems You'll say you'd never Let me fall from hopes so high But never is a promise And you can't afford to lie You'll never live The life that I live I'll never live the life That wakes me in the night You'll never hear The message I give Youy'll say it looks as though I might give up this fight But as the scenery grows I see in different lights The shades and shadows Undulate in my perception My feelings swell and stretch I see from greater heights I realise what I am now Too smart to mention To you You'll say you understand You'll never understand I'll say I'll never wake up Knowing how or why I don't know what To believe in You won't know who I am You'll say I need appeasing When I start to cry But never is a promise And I'll never need a lie
