Every year in Port Jackson, Australia, the bay’s secluded ocean floor and beach is littered with extraordinary spiralled eggs. These uniquely adapted eggs come from the remarkable Port Jackson sharks. But the sharks have another unique feature: sharp, specially adapted teeth, able to pierce through the rubbery shells of those very same eggs.

Port Jackson Shark
The Port Jackson shark is a small bottom-dwelling shark inhabiting waters off southern Australia Growing up to 5 feet long, they have a broad, flattened head and body that allows them to conceal themselves under rocks and in reef crevices Port Jacksons have distinctive dark bands covering their pale grayish-brown body They ingest air into their stomachs to maintain buoyancy Though harmless to humans, their spineless venomous fins can deliver painful stings With the ability to pump water over their gills when stationary, Port Jackson sharks can remain still for long periods while ambushing prey Patient and highly camouflaged, these cryptic predators are well suited to hunting in their native reef ecosystems

Port Jackson
Port Jackson is at the top of the coromandel Peninsular along a Pohutukawa lined road, one of the more scenic roads in New Zealand. It is sealed from Thames to Colville township. The road gets even more beautiful from there to the top of the peninsular, and care needs to be taken as many of the corners are narrow and visibility is limited..

Is Sydney, Nova Scotia worth visiting? (Exploring the heart of Cape Breton Island) | Canada 🇨🇦
You've probably never heard of Sydney, Nova Scotia. I can't blame you - it's remote location on its namesake harbour on the north coast of Cape Breton Island makes it one of the most hard-to-reach locations in Atlantic Canada. A long five hour drive from Halifax, this small town is technically the province’s second-largest city (now called the Cape Breton Regional Municipality), and is without a doubt the beating heart of Cape Breton Island. Here, the accents are almost Irish, with locals sounding closer to Newfoundlanders rather than their fellow Nova Scotians. This place is "far off the beaten path", defined, and that seclusion and remoteness has only contributed to their unique culture, accent, and way of life.
Despite not having nearly the same bustle and cosmopolitan charm of Nov...

Reason #1: Water
If you're not a fan of water activities like boating, fishing, or swimming, Nova Scotia may not be the place for you. With its extensive coastline and numerous lakes, water is a significant part of Nova Scotia's culture and lifestyle.

This place is "far off the beaten path", defined, and that seclusion and remoteness has only contributed to their unique culture, accent, and way of life.
Despite not having nearly the same bustle and cosmopolitan charm of Nova Scotia's capital city of Halifax, Sydney instead offers visitors its charming harbour, plenty of historic homes (some dating back to the 1700s!), excellent seafood and fish & chips, as well as oddities like the world’s largest fiddle, if you’re a fan of quirky roadside attractions. The surrounding area boasts green pastures, winding coastal drives, and amazing ocean vistas along with plenty of adorable B&Bs and guesthouses to relax at after a long day of sightseeing.
In this video, I take you on a short (and foggy!) tour around this small Nova Scotian town, taking in the idyllic harbourfront boardwalk before taking a walking tour around the town's historical streets. I also check out one of Sydney's most famous local cafes - Doktor Luke's - before winding my way back down to the water. The island is also home to some of the kindest locals on Earth, including one fellow who insisted that he drive me to neighbouring North Sydney, even though he wasn't going in that direction. Maritime hospitality at its finest, and those who have visited here will know that comes as no surprise.

A day trip to Sydney on Cape Breton in Nova Scotia is sure to be a memorable adventure, with every stop on the itinerary being a unique experience and a destination to remember. Home to about 30,000 people, Sydney is a popular port of call on North Atlantic cruises and the city transforms on those days – there's so much dynamics around the downtown, restaurants are booked with waiting lines, souvenir shops run out of maple syrup and all that jazz.
Sydney is convenient to base your Cape Breton adventures from, due to the size of the island it is easy to run several day trips from Sydney to different destinations. And of course Cabot Trail is right nearby, Cabot Trail is a magnificent scenic route showing Cape Breton in all its minimalistic northern beauty. I hope this video will help you get the look and feel of Sydney! Thanks for watching.

Are you thinking of visiting, studying in, or moving to Nova Scotia? Look no further! In this video, we will give you 5 compelling reasons to steer clear of this Canadian province.
Reason #1: Water
If you're not a fan of water activities like boating, fishing, or swimming, Nova Scotia may not be the place for you. With its extensive coastline and numerous lakes, water is a significant part of Nova Scotia's culture and lifestyle.
Reason #2: Friendly People
Do you prefer to keep to yourself and avoid engaging with locals? If so, you may want to think twice before visiting Nova Scotia. The people here are known for their warm hospitality and friendly nature, and you're likely to strike up a conversation with a stranger at any given moment.
Reason #3: Taking Photos
If you're not a fan of stunning landscapes and picturesque views, then Nova Scotia may not be your cup of tea. From the rugged coastline to the rolling hills and pristine lakes, Nova Scotia's natural beauty is hard to ignore.
Reason #4: Pubs
Are you someone who avoids bars and pubs? Nova Scotia may not be the best destination for you. With its rich history of
brewing and distilling, the province is home to numerous pubs and bars where you can sample locally-made beer, wine, and spirits.
Reason #5: Learning
If you're not interested in learning about history, culture, and traditions, you may want to skip Nova Scotia. The province is riddled with universities, colleges, museums, and riddled with history.

Halifax, Nova Scotia is cruise destination that has plenty to offer in terms of food, drink and attraction. On my classic New England and Canada cruise on the Caribbean Princess, my friend Don @Donsfamilyvacations and I faced a common cruise dilemma. Cruise excursion or explore on our own. We choose the later. Here's out day.
