Level 42 are an Englishpop rock and jazz-funkband, who had a number of worldwide and UK hits during the 1980s and 1990s.
Their most successful single in the UK was "Lessons in Love", which reached number three on the UK Singles Chart, and number 12 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, upon its release in 1986. The earlier single, "Something About You" was their most successful single in the United States, reaching number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
After much success as a live and studio band in the 1980s, Level 42's commercial profile diminished during the early 1990s following a series of personnel changes and musical shifts. After disbanding in 1994, the band reformed in 2001.
History
1979–1980: Formation
Mark King and the Gould brothers (Phil and Rowland, the latter generally known by his nickname "Boon") were all brought up on the Isle of Wight and played together in various bands during their teenage years. Phil Gould went on to study at London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where he met keyboard player Mike Lindup in a percussion course. Both musicians found that they shared musical heroes: Miles Davis, John McLaughlin, Keith Jarrett and Jan Hammer.
"Sun Goes Down" is a song by German DJ and producer Robin Schulz featuring vocals from British recording artist Jasmine Thompson. The song was released in Germany as a digital download on 24 October 2014. The song peaked at number two on the German Singles Chart.
The song's composition consists of a piano, and a saxophone drop, accompanied by Schulz's beats, and Thompson's vocals. At the beginning of the song, the vocals and the drop, a loud, horn-like sound effect is played.
Music video
The accompanying music video for "Sun Goes Down" was made in September 2014 by director Lilja and shows various protagonists in different places all over Europe. The video is a collage of intimate everyday moments that couldn’t be more different. However, one thing that they all share is the moment in which time seems to stand still and let the world take a deep breath.
Filmed in four locations around Europe, the video features actress and model Milla Puolakanaho in Turku, Finland, a group of friends around cinematographer Karol Łakomiec and singer Kasia Zielińska on a rooftop in Warsaw, Poland, terra-cotta artist Dino Daddiego in the old town of Sassi di Matera, Italy, as well as both artists of the song, Robin Schulz and Jasmine Thompson in London, England. The gathering of Jasmine Thompson and her friends was shot in Burgess Park in Southwark, the DJ set with Robin Schulz was shot during a regular gig of his at the club EGG LDN.
"Sun Goes Down" is a single by Nesian Mystik, released on 8 February 2010. It is the second single from 99 A.D., their fourth studio album. It peaked at number three on the New Zealand Singles Chart, and was certified gold in its seventh week on the chart. It has since been certified platinum.
The track has been a success on New Zealand radio, particularly on Urban Radio Stations nationwide. The track ascended to number one on 16 March 2010 and has remained the most played song on urban radio for ten consecutive weeks.
Goes was founded in the 10th century on the edge of a creek: de Korte Gos (the Short Gos). The village grew fast, and in the early 12th century it had a market square and a church devoted to Mary Magdalene. In 1405 Goes received city rights from William, Duke of Bavaria, by his right as count of Holland, and in 1417 it was allowed to build town walls. The prosperity of the city was based upon the cloth industry and the production of salt. In the 16th century Goes declined. Its connection to the sea silted up and in 1554 a large fire destroyed part of the city.
In Autumn 1572, during the course of the Eighty Years' War, Goes, in the Spanish Netherlands, was besieged by Dutch forces with the support of English troops. The siege was relieved in October 1572 by Spanish Tercios, who waded across the Scheldt to attack the besieging forces. In 1577 the Spanish soldiers who occupied Goes were driven out by Prince Maurits of Nassau. The prince built a defence wall around Goes, which is still partly standing. From the 17th century Goes did not play an important role, except as an agricultural centre. In 1868 a railway was constructed through it, but this did not lead to industrialisation. Agriculture remains the most important economic activity.
GOES-L was launched aboard an International Launch ServicesAtlas IIA rocket, flying from Space Launch Complex 36A at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. The launch occurred at 07:07 GMT on 3 May. The launch was originally scheduled for 15 March 1999, however it was delayed to allow the Eutelsat W3 satellite to be launched first. Following this, it was rescheduled for 15 May. On 30 April, the Centaur upper stage of a Titan IV(401)B failed during the launch of USA-143. Since a version of the Centaur was also used on the Atlas II, the launch of GOES-L was delayed a week to ensure that the same problem would not affect its launch. Less than five days after the Titan failure, a Delta III failed to launch Orion 3. The failure occurred during the second stage restart, and as the Delta III and Atlas II both used RL10 engines on their second stages, this resulted in a further delay.

In your hands there's a photograph You look up, she begins to laugh So cold as she walks away And you know that it's time to pay You're caught in a web you spun yourself Face to face with your failure this very day You call out her name, you can't help yourself But you need love like you need a kick in the head You worked hard for the things you own Fancy cars and a country home Gave it all for a glittering prize To be a face people recognize On the walls of your home there are works of art But you stare at the picture on the floor The face of a man with an aching heart It's no fun to be famous anymore You said, "This is a sad day And I would gladly give it all away In exchange for a floating life" Shed your tears for a shallow dream Let your cry be a primal scream A song through the mists of time A serenade to your concubine You were wrong to believe she could set you free You're trapped by the trappings of success And you know that you'll never let you be 'Til the world knows the secrets you confessed You said, "I see her cruel face My heart is nothing but an empty space And on this sad day I would gladly give it all away In exchange for a floating life" Neither asleep nor awake Losing control you start to shake As the day begins to break They're gonna shoot you down in flames When that girl starts naming names There's nowhere to hide from your shame I see her cruel face My heart is nothing but an empty space And on this sad day I would gladly give it all away
