Dress codes are written and, more often, unwritten rules with regard to clothing. Clothing like other aspects of human physical appearance has a social significance, with different rules and expectations being valid depending on circumstance and occasion.
The dress code has built in rules or signals indicating the message being given by a person's clothing and how it is worn. This message may include indications of the person's gender, income, occupation and social class, political, ethnic and religious affiliation, attitude towards comfort, fashion, traditions, gender expression, marital status, sexual availability, and sexual orientation, etc. Clothes convey other social messages including the stating or claiming personal or cultural identity, the establishing, maintaining, or defying social groupnorms, and appreciating comfort and functionality.
For example, wearing expensive clothes can communicate wealth, the image of wealth, or cheaper access to quality clothing. All factors apply inversely to the wearing of inexpensive clothing and similar goods. The observer sees the resultant, expensive clothes, but may incorrectly perceive the extent to which these factors apply to the person observed. (cf. conspicuous consumption). Clothing can convey a social message, even if none is intended.
Western dress codes are dress codes in Western culture governing what garments are worn together and in what setting. Examples of dress codes are combinations such as "smart casual", or "morning dress". A classification of these codes is normally made for varying levels of formality and times of day. In traditional Western dressing, for men the more formal dress codes, such as "black tie", are highly codified with essentially fixed definitions, mostly unchanged for more than fifty years, while the more casual classifications change very quickly, and a worldwide or widely relevant discussion is impossible. For women, changes in fashion are more rapid.
In practical use, dress codes are either followed intuitively or enforced by peer pressure, so that people wear similar clothing in the same situations. Alternatively, at more formal events where a dress code is specified, invitees wear clothes at the specified level; if some variation is permitted (for example, "black tie preferred"), the host will wear the most formal option to save guests the embarrassment of out-dressing him. Appropriate national dress is generally permitted, and national variations are also widely worn as an exception to the trend of uniformity with peers, often in the form of headgear (see kippa, turban, hijab).
What Happens Next? is a documentary film about the Canadian singer-songwriter, Dan Mangan. It explores Mangan's ideas on fate and destiny as he's about to perform in his biggest performance to date, a sold out show at the Vancouver, British ColumbiaOrpheum. It premiered on CBC Television on August 25, 2012. The movie was directed and produced by Brent Hodge and Jon Siddall. It was nominated for a Leo Award in 2013.
The movie starts by introducing Dan Mangan, a singer-songwriter from Vancouver, who has built his reputation through continuous touring, with and without a backing band. He counters those who say that "making it in life has everything to do with luck" with a quote from his father, that those who work the hardest tend to be the luckiest.
The film interleaves the build up to the show at the Orpheum with footage from a poker game with drummer Kenton Loewen, and guitarist Gordon Grdina as well as Dan's then fiancee (now wife) Kirsten Slenning, and Dan, as they discuss the upcoming show, the end of their current 42 show tour, creativity, the past, and life after playing the Orpheum(a lifelong goal of Dan's).
It also contains some behind the scenes footage of the filming of the music video for the song About As Helpful As You Can Be Without Being Any Help At All off his album Oh Fortune directed by Stuart Gillies.
The main theme of the movie is how stardom doesn't happen over night. That it's a slow progression of winning over a fan, one at a time, through hard work and touring. It also touches on the fleeting nature of fame, and impermanence of art.
The movie concludes with the opening of the show, a few small clips of the performance, and then the band and accompanying orchestra bowing on stage, begging the question, what happens next?
What Happens Next, original title You Can't Have It All is a 2012 comedy film by director Jay Arnold starring Jon Lindstrom, Chris Murrah and Wendie Malick. The film premiered on 27 August 2011 at FilmOut San Diego and was also screened at Philadelphia QFest and Hollywood Film Festival. General release in DVD was February 7, 2012.
Synopsis
Paul Greco (Jon Lindstrom) is a wealthy man who has sold his business and has retired. His sister Elise (Wendie Malick) gives him a dog. Paul assumes the daily dog-walking routine in the park where he encounters Andy Chance (Chris Murrah), a gay self-employed advertising whiz, who happens to own a dog himself. The daily meeting develops into a tender series of situations between the two as conversations exchanged become more and more involved and sincere.
Elise senses changes in Paul's recent behavior and personality and conspires to fix up Paul with a friend, Irene. At the same time, Andy's best friend and confidente Roz (Natalia Cigliuti), becomes uncomfortable with Andy's fascination over Paul, a fifty-five and very 'straight' man. Roz tries to fix Andy with an artist boy that is her first showcased artist in a new gallery project. This turned out to be Brian (Ariel Shafir), the son of Elise. Elise as an over-concerned and over-protective mother has serious reservations about the life choices of her son Brian and she suspects he may be gay. Brian has become seriously estranged from her but is still in good terms with his uncle Paul who is a sort of a confidant for him. Elise seeks help from PFLAG and by coincidence, it is Andy who gives her advice how to handle the situation with her son.
A code is a type of legislation that purports to exhaustively cover a complete system of laws or a particular area of law as it existed at the time the code was enacted, by a process of codification. Though the process and motivations for codification are similar in different common law and civil law systems, their usage is different. In a civil law country, a Code typically exhaustively covers the complete system of law, such as civil law or criminal law. By contrast, in a common law country with legislative practices in the English tradition, a Code is a less common form of legislation, which differs from usual legislation that, when enacted, modify the existing common law only to the extent of its express or implicit provision, but otherwise leaves the common law intact. By contrast, a code entirely replaces the common law in a particular area, leaving the common law inoperative unless and until the code is repealed. In a third case of slightly different usage, in the United States and other common law countries that have adopted similar legislative practices, a Code is a standing body of statute law on a particular area, which is added to, subtracted from, or otherwise modified by individual legislative enactments.
Ten-codes, officially known as ten signals, are brevity codes used to represent common phrases in voice communication, particularly by law enforcement and in Citizens Band (CB) radio transmissions.
The codes, developed in 1937 and expanded in 1974 by the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials-International (APCO), allow for brevity and standardization of message traffic. They have historically been widely used by law enforcement officers in North America but due to the lack of standardization, in 2006 the U.S. federal government recommended they be discontinued in favor of everyday language.
History
APCO first proposed Morse code brevity codes in the June, 1935 issue of The APCO Bulletin, which were adapted from the procedure symbols of the U.S. Navy.
The development of the APCO Ten Signals began in 1937, when police radio channels were limited to reduce use of speech on the radio. Credit for inventing the codes goes to Charles "Charlie" Hopper, communications director for the Illinois State Police, District 10 in Pesotum, Illinois. Hopper had been involved in radio for years and realized there was a need to abbreviate transmissions on State Police bands. Experienced radio operators knew the first syllable of a transmission was frequently not understood because of quirks in early electronics technology. Radios in the 1930s were based on vacuum tubes powered by a small motor-generator called a dynamotor. The dynamotor took from 1/10 to 1/4 of a second to "spin up" to full power. Police officers were trained to push the microphone button, then pause briefly before speaking; however, sometimes they would forget to wait. Preceding each code with "ten-" gave the radio transmitter time to reach full power. An APCO Bulletin of January 1940 lists codes assigned as part of standardization;

Are School Dress Codes Sexist and Racist?
With #dresscoded and #Imnotadistraction, school dress codes are coming under fire from students who say these policies can be sexist and racist. But many argue strict dress codes are necessary for a safe learning environment. So, how should schools decide on dress code policies?

What are school dress codes?
School dress codes are policies that mandate how students should dress in school. They vary from school to school, district to district.
Are school dress codes sexist?
Many people feel that some school dress code policies unfairly target female-identifying folks since most of the items that are banned are items that females would wear, like certain types of skirts and tops. Many also argue that school dress codes can be unfairly enforced based on body type, where curvier or heavier females are punished more frequently compared to less developed or thinner folks. Critics say that this sends the wrong message to young women about their bodies and contributes to the sexualization of young women.
Are school dress codes racist?
Many people feel that some school dress code policies unfairly target people of color by banning things that may wear like durags, hair wraps, braids, and dreadlocks. Critics argue this criminalizes culture and can lead to a system where students of color are getting disciplined more for dress code violations.
What are the advantages of dress codes?
Many proponents of dress codes feel that dress codes contribute to a safe learning environment. Dress codes that prohibit gang-related clothing or clothing that others may find offensive or distracting help create an environment where students can focus on their education rather than distracting or dangerous clothes. Many also feel that strict dress codes help prepare students for work-life after school since many jobs require employees to dress a certain way.

Thank you for watching!

We took teen boys with RAGING hormones and asked them to solve simple math problems… with a sexy twist.
(And along the way, we'll show you why so many school dress codes are so, so silly.)
I don't love, I don't give, I don't care' cause I've already been there I don't want, I don't need, I don't take, 'cause I had it all I don't guess, I just know, what this is, is a place to die from I am not what you see, you are real but not for real I'm not scared, I'm not high, I'm a man and I'm all right We are here, we are gone, and the rest are left to wonder What is life, in the hand of illusion, what is life to a man in confusion What is right, for a life that is losin', what is time, what is, what is, what is? Take look, open up, look inside, what is there In your heart, in your mind, in your soul there's the answer Why you want, why you need, the side effects of what you see What is life, in the hand of illusion What is life, to a man in confusion What is right for a life that is losin', what is time, what is, what is, what is? I don't pay, I just know what this is,
