The Mahavishnu Orchestra was a jazz-rock fusion group led by John McLaughlin, active during 1971–1976 and again in 1984–1987 after major line-up changes.
First Mahavishnu Orchestra
The band's original lineup featured "Mahavishnu" John McLaughlin on acoustic and electric guitars, with members Billy Cobham on drums, Rick Laird on bass guitar (although Tony Levin was the first person McLaughlin called to join the band),Jan Hammer on electric and acoustic piano and synthesizer, and Jerry Goodman on violin. This first incarnation of the ensemble was a multinational group: McLaughlin is from Yorkshire, England; Cobham from Panama; Hammer from Prague, Czechoslovakia; Goodman from Chicago, Illinois; and Laird from Dublin, Ireland. This group was considered an important pioneer in the jazz fusion movement. McLaughlin and Cobham met while performing and recording with Miles Davis during the Bitches Brew sessions. McLaughlin was also influenced in his conception of the band by his studies with Indian guruSri Chinmoy, who encouraged him to take the name "Mahavishnu" which means "Divine compassion, power and justice." or simply "Great Vishnu", an aspect of Vishnu.
Stepping stones or stepstones are sets of stones arranged to form a simple bridge or causeway that allows a pedestrian to cross a natural watercourse, such as a river; or a water feature in a garden where water is allowed to flow between stone steps. Unlike other bridges, they have no spans. Stepping stones, along with log bridges, are likely to have been the oldest bridge types. They are sometimes built by hikers. They may be impossible to cross when the river level is high. Also, occasionally they may be disarranged by the force of the river when it is flowing unusually powerfully.
The name "Drukken" steps derives from a person's gait as they stepped from stone to stone whilst crossing the Red Burn. Seven or more stones were originally set in the Red Burn which was much wider than now (2009).

A radio broadcast tape also exists in digital form (and in unusual stereo, where Jan Hammer's Rhodes are at the right and much of the instruments are filled in both channels), which allows syncing to be possible, but it's got a lossy quality. I tried syncing these together but it came out as a bit iffy and awkward but it shouldn't be too distracting; keep in mind that I don't do full-time video restoring so this is just a bit of an occasion where I'd like to play around with video editors (or try to refine these skills)
Watch for:
-at 0:00, the snare goes from the right channel to centre channel - very creative!
-at 0:53, the radio-sourced audio persists while the video gets abruptly cut.
-at 2:23, MEH (comical relief)
-at 8:36, drum solo
-at 14:03, wrap it up
-at 15:19, this motif is called Resolution when describing in the context of Mahavishnu Orchestra; the motif was first heard in Tony Williams Lifetime's single One Word.
-Throughout the whole video, this was equalised (the thin-sounding audio don't do much for me.)
Source audio: Sugarmegs (http://tela.sugarmegs.org/ - search Chateauvallon France or Mahavishnu)
In Memoriam: Rick Laird (1941 - 2021)

In the September 14, 2018 interview with Sway, when asked if the other members of D12 were aware of the song before it came out, Eminem replied:
"They were. They got a heads-up and, you know, I explained… I honestly have not talked to Swift and Kuniva yet about the song, they just knew it was coming down the pipe, but the way I explained it is this: Proof was the glue that binded us all together, right? He did so much shit behind the scenes that I ain’t even realized and did things to keep us a group and then motivate us.
That’s what ended up happening, was that everybody was kind of doing their solo things, made solo projects, mixtapes and things like that and were doing shows. I think the conversation now going forward is to see if there’s anything we can do to help their solo careers,...

Stepping Stone - Duffy (w/lyrics)
Song: Stepping Stone
Singer: Duffy
Album: Rockferry
LYRICS:
I remember, way back, way back when
I said I never wanna see your face again
Cause you were loving, yes you loving someone else
And I knew, yes I knew I could control myself
And now they bring you back into my life again
And so I put on a face just like your friends
But I think you know, oh yes you know what's going on
Cause the feelings of me, oh yes of me are burning strong
But I will never be your stepping stone
Take it all or leave me alone
I will never be your stepping stone
I'm standing up or I'm on my own
You used to call me up from time to time
And it would be so hard for me not to cross the line
The words of love lay on my lips just like a curse
And I knew, oh yes I knew it would only make it worse

And now you have the nerve to play along
Just like the mystro beats in his song
You get your kicks, you get your kicks from playing me
And the less you give, the more I want so foolish of me
But I will never be your stepping stone
Take it all or leave me alone
I will never be your stepping stone
I'm standing up or I'm on my own
No I will never be your stepping stone
Take it all or leave me alone
I will never be your stepping stone
I'm standing up or I'm on my own
Never be your stepping stone
Take it all or leave me alone
I will never be your stepping stone
I'm standing up or I'm on my own

Here's a snippet from their Chateauvallon concert but it's replaced with radio-sourced audio and synched. (If you don't think there's much difference in the audio, I highly suggest wearing your headphones)
So, a full live broadcast of the Mahavishnu Orchestra at the Festival of Châteauvallon, France, 1972 circulated in recent years in the form of physical distribution and digital file.

I think the conversation now going forward is to see if there’s anything we can do to help their solo careers, you know, and we’ll always be friends, man, we’ve always been friends since we were kids. We’ll always be good in that aspect and I wanna help them do whatever it is that their next thing is on the agenda: mixtape, album, shopping, whatever it is.
I know that they have things they wanna say to me and I have things I wanna say to them, so this is kind of how I wanted to tell them, like, you know, I love you guys, like forever, like I’m here, it just… doing a D12 album just doesn’t seem… in this climate right now, I don’t know how that would even work."
