In 1848, vestrymen of St. Paul's in Buffalo formed a building committee to erect a new stone church. Being familiar with architect Richard Upjohn’s work through his recently completed Trinity Church in New York City, they desired no other architect for the job, and immediately engaged Upjohn for the commission.
Major structural events:
1849: construction started.
1851: the cathedral was dedicated/consecrated.
1870: the spires on top of the two towers were finished.
1888: a fire caused by a natural gas explosion nearly destroyed the building.
1890: the church reopened after undergoing a renovation overseen by Robert W. Gibson.
The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral in 1973. In 1987, the NRHP listing was revised as "St. Paul's Cathedral (Buffalo)" and the property was further declared a U.S. National Historic Landmark.
St. Paul's Cathedral is an Episcopal church located in the Bankers Hill district of the city of San Diego, California. It is the formal seat of the bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of San Diego. It traces its origins to the first Protestant church in San Diego, founded in Old Town in 1853, although the building itself was only completed in 1951.
Church philosophy
The cathedral is the home to an active and growing Episcopal/Anglican parish community. Calling itself "the Cathedral 4 the City", St. Paul's describes its mission as "bringing together the ancient rhythms of liturgy and sacred music set to a progressive beat that thoughtfully engages the critical issues of social justice facing our world".
People of all faith backgrounds or none are welcomed. The congregation is greeted each Sunday with an announcement reminding them that there are no visitors to St. Paul's: everyone present is "a member of this holy family at this holy time". The church is grounded in a high-church traditional liturgy and expression of Christian faith, but at the same time maintains robust interfaith bonds throughout the community. The Canon for Biblical Studies (the Reverend Jack Lindquist) is a Lutheran, the Preacher in Residence (the Reverend Mark Trotter) is a Methodist, and Rabbi Laurie Coskey serves as Rabbi-in-Residence. The cathedral also works with the local Islamic community to promote religious tolerance. Its motto is "whoever you are and wherever you are on the journey of faith, you are welcome here".
During the French Revolution the ancient cathedral of Liège, St. Lambert's Cathedral, was destroyed systematically, from 1794 onwards. After the revolutionary fervour had evaporated a new cathedral was needed. The ancient collegiate church of St. Paul's was thought suitable for the purpose and was elevated in rank, before 1812. This is the present Liège Cathedral.
History
The present cathedral of Liège was originally one among the seven collegiate churches of the city.
It was founded in the 10th century, reconstructed between the 13th and 15th centuries, and restored in the mid-19th century.
It became the cathedral of Liège in the first years of the 19th century as the replacement for the destroyed St. Lambert's Cathedral.
In 1812, further to a request from Napoléon Bonaparte, the tower, with its ogival windows, was raised by a storey and the belltower installed.
Located in downtown Toronto near the denomination's national headquarters, the parish, along with Little Trinity Anglican Church, is one of historical flagship low church parishes of the diocese, and is one of the few remaining Anglican churches in Toronto where Morning Prayer is the principal service twice a month (three times in months with five Sundays), rather than the more typical weekly Parish Communion.
The first St. Paul's church opened on June 12, 1842.
The second St Paul's church was constructed in 1860; the current main church in 1913. The two buildings, as well as the parish hall (Cody Hall) are now joined together by an Atrium after the Nehemiah Project renovation and building project.
The vision of St. Paul's Bloor Street is: "By the power and grace of Jesus Christ, we seek to be a transformative community for the city." St. Paul's has extensive outreach, youth, children's and adult programming, and offers Christianity 101 courses for those exploring Christianity. Worship services include a quiet communion service at 8:15 AM, an informal service named "The Bridge" at 9:30 AM and an 11:00 AM traditional service.
The church was established in 1750 by the Church of England at the site of Fort Augusta. The church, located on the corner of 6th and Reynolds Street, is the oldest church congregation in Augusta. The original church building was of Gothic architecture, but burned down during the American Revolutionary War. The second church burned down during the Great Augusta Fire of 1916. The current church building of colonialarchitecture was designed by Henry Wendell and can seat up to 600 people.
Regular Sunday Masses are at 0800 (first Sunday of month) and 0930 (Solemn Mass). Weekday masses are on Tuesday at 0930 and Friday at 1230. The church is open most weekdays between 9 am and 2 pm.
History
A mission in Borough Road, Burton was opened in 1865 from Christ Church at the suggestion of Michael Thomas Bass. By 1872 the mission was known as St Paul's and in 1873, it was assigned an ecclesiastical district, created out of the parishes of Christ Church, Holy Trinity, and St Modwen's. A new church, St Paul’s, was opened in 1874 on a site soon known as St Paul's Square, with Michael Thomas Bass paying for the erection of the church and vicarage at a cost of £50,000.(£4,145,909 in 2016) . The church was consecrated on 7 April 1874 by the Bishop of Lichfield, George Augustus Selwyn.
Melbourne is a compilation album by the Models, recorded in the early 1980s and released in 2001. The album was distributed by Shock Records.
The album was compiled by dedicated Models fan, Mark Burchett (a band booking agent for Premier Artists), who compiled sixteen cuts of the Models' material before they signed with Mushroom Records, consisting of demos, studio cuts and live tracks with the assistance of Melbourne public radio station 3RRRFM. The liner notes for the album are written by Australian Rock historian Ian McFarlane.

St Paul's Cathedral is an Anglican cathedral in Central Business District of Melbourne, Victoria Australia. It's location is on the north east corner of Swanston and Flinders Street.
It is the cathedral church of the Diocese of Melbourne and the seat of the Archbishop of Melbourne, who is also the metropolitan archbishop of the Province of Victoria.
The cathedral was designed by the English Gothic Revival architect William Butterfield and completed in 1891, except for the spires which were built at a later date. Refusing to set foot in the colony, the eminent Gothic Revivalist Architect William Butterfield resorted to sending extremely detailed architectural drawings and plans of St Paul's Cathedral to Australia.
He even produced life-size drawings of columns, window tracery and other features, to ensure the antipodeans could get nothing wrong.
The building work was marked by disputes between Butterfield and the church authorities in Melbourne, leading to Butterfield's resignation in 1884. The job was then awarded to a local architect, Joseph Reed of Reed, Henderson and Smart, who completed the building generally faithfully to Butterfield's design and who also designed the attached chapter house in matching style in 1889. To fit the block, the cathedral is orientated in line with the central city grid, just off the north-south axis, rather than facing east, the traditional direction.
The pipe organ was commissioned from the English builder T. C. Lewis, one of the most prominent organ builders of the 19th century.
For nearly 40 years, without the spires, the cathedral presented as a rather solid, horizontal mass. Construction of the spires began in 1926 to a new design by Australian Architect John Barr of Sydney, in a more traditional Gothic Revival style and with different stone from the Sydney area. It was also much taller than Butterfield's original design. The spires reached their full height in 1932 and on 30 April 1933 a service of thanksgiving was held for their completion. Once the central spire, named the Moorhouse Spire, was completed to its full height of 312 ft (95m), St Paul's became the tallest structure in central Melbourne and dominated the city's skyline when viewed from the south.
It is one of Melbourne's major architectural landmarks.

St. Paul in the winter-Kids are crying for their dinner Quick smoke and a drink, then it's time for bed He said, ";Why do you always seem so down? Is something lost that can't be found?"; You wait, hesitate, and tell him you're okay But it's a lie-You can't look him in the eye 'Cause he won't ever understand you You want to believe, that things will change It worries your heart, oh to feel this strange Bu you can't stop the world-No, from spinning around You'll never stop the rain from falling down, down, down Down, down, down It's colder than I remember, at this time last December The win was blowin' and, the skies are always grey You said someday you're gonna leave that man...realize all that we've planned Start all over again, under the southern sun But it's a lie-You can't look me in the eye Knowin' I won't understand you Yeh I want to believe, oh that things will change And it worries my heart, yeh to feel this strange But I can't stop the world-No, from spinning around You'll never stop the rain from falling down, down, down I hope that you understand-You're always welcome at my door And I hope you understand, that I";m not hoping anymore...hoping anymore Yeh you want to believe, oh that things will change And it worries your heart, mmm to feel this strange But you can't stop the world-No, from spinning around You'll never stop the rain from fallin' down, down, down Down, down, down
Easter masses were planned at churches and cathedrals across the country including Melbourne’s St Paul’s Cathedral. In Sydney about 2,000 people were expected to attend a 10.30am mass at St Mary’s Cathedral.
