Blue is the colour between violet and green on the optical spectrum of visible light. Human eyes perceive blue when observing light with a wavelength between 450 and 495 nanometres. Blues with a higher frequency and thus a shorter wavelength gradually look more violet, while those with a lower frequency and a longer wavelength gradually appear more green. Pure blue, in the middle, has a wavelength of 470 nanometres. In painting and traditional colour theory, blue is one of the three primary colours of pigments, along with red and yellow, which can be mixed to form a wide gamut of colours. Red and blue mixed together form violet, blue and yellow together form green. Blue is also a primary colour in the RGB colour model, used to create all the colours on the screen of a television or computer monitor.
The modern English word blue comes from Middle Englishbleu or blewe, from the Old Frenchbleu, a word of Germanic origin, related to the Old High German word blao. The clear sky and the deep sea appear blue because of an optical effect known as Rayleigh scattering. When sunlight passes through the atmosphere, the blue wavelengths are scattered more widely by the oxygen and nitrogen molecules, and more blue comes to our eyes. Rayleigh scattering also explains blue eyes; there is no blue pigment in blue eyes. Distant objects appear more blue because of another optical effect called atmospheric perspective.
Like random early detection (RED), it operates by randomly dropping or marking packet with explicit congestion notification mark before the transmit buffer of the network interface controller overflows. Unlike RED, however, it requires little or no tuning to be performed by the network administrator. A Blue queue maintains a drop/mark probability p, and drops/marks packets with probability p as they enter the queue. Whenever the queue overflows, p is increased by a small constant pd, and whenever the queue is empty, p is decreased by a constant pi< pd.
If the mix of traffic on the interface does not change, p will slowly converge to a value that keeps the queue within its bounds with full link utilization.
The temporal duration between two stressed syllables is equal (stress-timed);
The idea as such was first expressed by Kenneth L. Pike in 1945, though the concept of language naturally occurring in chronologically and rhythmically equal measures is found at least as early as 1775 (in Prosodia Rationalis). This has implications for language typology: D. Abercrombie claimed "As far as is known, every language in the world is spoken with one kind of rhythm or with the other ... French, Telugu and Yoruba ... are syllable-timed languages, ... English, Russian and Arabic ... are stress-timed languages'.
While many linguists find the idea of different rhythm types appealing, empirical studies have not been able to find acoustic correlates of the postulated types, calling into question the validity of these types.
Aokana: Four Rhythm Across the Blue, known in Japan as Ao no Kanata no Four Rhythm(蒼の彼方のフォーリズム,Ao no Kanata no Fō Rizumu, subtitled Beyond the sky, into the firmament), officially abbreviated as Aokana(あおかな) and translated as Four Rhythm Across the Blue, is a Japanese adultvisual novel developed by Sprite and released for Windows on November 28, 2014. The game will be ported to the PlayStation Vita. A manga adaptation began publication in Monthly Comp Ace magazine in October 2015. An anime television series adaptation, produced by Gonzo and directed by Fumitoshi Oizaki, premiered in January 2016.
Gameplay
Aokana: Four Rhythm Across the Blue is a romancevisual novel in which the player assumes the role of Masaya Hinata. Much of its gameplay is spent on reading the story's narrative and dialogue. The text in the game is accompanied by character sprites, which represent who Masaya is talking to, over background art. Throughout the game, the player encounters CG artwork at certain points in the story, which take the place of the background art and character sprites. The game follows a branching plot line with multiple endings, and depending on the decisions that the player makes during the game, the plot will progress in a specific direction.
A band society is the simplest form of human society. A band generally consists of a small kin group, no larger than an extended family or clan; one definition sees a band as consisting of no more than 100 individuals.
Characteristics
Bands have a loose organization. Their power structure is often egalitarian and has informal leadership; the older members of the band generally are looked to for guidance and advice, and decisions are often made on a consensus basis, but there are no written laws and none of the specialised coercive roles (e.g., police) typically seen in more complex societies. Bands' customs are almost always transmitted orally. Formal social institutions are few or non-existent. Religion is generally based on family tradition, individual experience, or counsel from a shaman. All known band societies hunt and gather to obtain their subsistence.
Definitions and distinctions
In his 1972 study, The Notion of the Tribe, Morton Fried defined bands as small, mobile, and fluid social formations with weak leadership that do not generate surpluses, pay taxes nor support a standing army.
The Spitfire is a high-performance catamaran used for training and racing. It was designed by two Olympic gold medalists in the Tornado class, Reg White (GBR) & Yves Loday (FRA). In the UK, the Spitfire is the RYA Youth Catamaran as well as a successful racing class. National Championships in the UK are held annually and in the past, European Championships have been held. The youth squad sailors compete at the class events like open meetings and nationals as well as some 'youth only' events such as the RYA Youth National Championships and youth squad training events.
Overview
The Spitfire, at 16ft, is relatively small in comparison to the other main catamaran racing classes in the UK (F18s, Tornados, Hurricane 5.9s, Dart 18s and Sprint 15s). The Spitfire is a competitive racing class at handicap events, Spitfire events or in club races and is regularly seen in pole position at UK catamaran events. The British Spitfire Class Association provide the latest Spitfire news via their Facebook page
and organize Spitfire events such as the inland and nationals championships.

Bufferbloat #3 - FIFO, RED, Blue, and Fair Queueing
Dave Täht gave a lecture at the University of Modena describing the problem of Bufferbloat. The cool part of the video is it demonstrates the problems of network queueing - with water!
It starts with why a FIFO algorithm is bad - delay increases dramatically with load - this delay severaly affects DNS, ping, gaming and other short, but high priority/critical packets that affect your perception of network response. Discussion then shifts to drop tail algorithms, and the attempt to use Random Early Drop (RED) and the Blue algorithms. It moves on to the "Fair Queueing" family of algorithms that attempt to separate large ("elephant") flows/sessions from smaller volume ("mice" or "ant") flows.
It's handheld video, the audio's not great, but the information is pure gold. If you want to learn...

This talk was given by undergraduate Ryan Doyle during the 9th Annual Computer Science Undergraduate Research Symposium in 2015. Ryan‘s research was supervised by Dr. Kevin Jeffay.
“Testing the Effectiveness of AQMs at Improving Network Performance”
As use of the Internet and the number of real-time applications that depend on it increases, network performance statistics such as link utilization and average response time become more important. Today, most routers use a basic drop tail style of queueing in which the queue is unmanaged. When the queue is full, every packet arriving at the router is dropped. TCP, the Internet’s dominant transport protocol, has a congestion control mechanism that responds to dropped packets by limiting the rate at which the affected connection sends packets. If many packets from different TCP connections are dropped by a router at the same time, all of those connections will limit their throughput, creating the potential for significant loss in link utilization. In addition to this link utilization problem, drop tail queueing allows for the potential of a buffer to fill and remain full, adding delay to every packet that arrives at the router.
Active queue management algorithms (AQMs) run on routers, replace the standard drop tail method of queueing, and manage the queue before it becomes full. By selectively dropping or marking packets before the router becomes full, AQMs theoretically limit buffer-related delay and increase link utilization by preventing the dropping of packets from many different TCP connections at the same time. In our research, we have constructed and calibrated a network designed to replay actual Internet traffic in a laboratory setting. By implementing different AQMs on the routers in our network, we can test the effectiveness of these algorithms compared to drop tail queuing and will report on the results of these experiments.

If you want to learn more about the problem of Bufferbloat and its solutions check out:

[Chorus]
I'm good, yeah, I'm feelin' alright
Baby, I'ma have the best fuckin' night of my life
And wherever it takes me, I'm down for the ride
Baby, don't you know I'm good, yeah, I'm feelin' alright
'Cause I'm good, yeah, I'm feelin' alright
Baby, I'ma have the best fuckin' night of my life
And wherever it takes me, I'm down for the ride
Baby, don't you know I'm good, yeah, I'm feelin' alright
[Drop]
Don't you know I'm good, yeah, I'm feelin' alright
[Verse]
You know I'm down for whatever tonight
I don't need the finer things in life
No matter where I go, it's a good time, yeah
And I, I don't need to sit in VIP
Middle of the floor, that's where I'll be
Don't got a lot, but that's enough for me, yeah
[Chorus]
'Cause I'm good, yeah, I'm feelin' alright
Baby, I'ma have the best fuckin' night of my life
And wherever it takes me, I'm down for the ride
Baby, don't you know I'm good, yeah, I'm feelin' alright
[Drop]
I'm good
Good
I'm good
Don't you know I'm good, yeah, I'm feelin' alright
[Bridge]
So I just let it go, let it go
Oh, na-na-na-na-na
No, I don't care no more, care no more
Oh, na-na-na-na-na
So come on, let me know, let me know
Put your hands up, na-na-na
No, baby, nothing's gonna stop us tonight
[Chorus]
'Cause I'm good, yeah, I'm feelin' alright
Baby, I'ma have the best fuckin' night of my life
And wherever it takes me, I'm down for the ride
Baby, don't you know I'm good, yeah, I'm feelin' alright
