Snelling is a full-service "workforce solutions provider" serving temporary, contract and direct-hire Employment agency needs for employers in the Continental US, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. Snelling franchises are individually owned and operated. Originally founded in Pennsylvania in 1951, Snelling is headquartered in Dallas, Texas and has a network of about 130 offices.

History

In 1951, two personnel-industry pioneers, Lou and Gwen Snelling, opened their first office on Market Street in Philadelphia, PA. Lou believed in personnel services and had used them to further his professional sales career with Cream of Wheat. After honoring a non-compete with a former employer, Accredited Personnel, Lou and wife Gwen co-founded Snelling and Snelling on the philosophy of “helping others achieve the success they desire.”

Together with their future daughter-in-law Joan, and sons Bob in 1952 and Ray in 1953, the Snellings created a company. In 1951, Snelling entered the staffing industry with a single office in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and by 1967, had expanded to 50 offices. Since then, Snelling has grown strategically, adding franchisee offices across the country.
