Harry Lee (August 27, 1932 – October 1, 2007) was the long-time sheriff of Jefferson Parish, Louisiana. He was first elected in 1979 as the thirtieth sheriff, and was re-elected six times, having served twenty-eight years and six months. He is the older brother of Playboy magazine's first Asian-American centerfold, China Lee.
Early years
Lee was the son of Chinese immigrants. He was born in the back room of the family's laundry on Carondelet Street, in the part of New Orleans known as Central City. When they were old enough, he and his siblings, eventually numbering eight, were given jobs in the laundry and later in the family's restaurants, including the House of Lee in Metairie.
He got a firsthand taste of politics early, at age 12, when he was elected president of the newly formed student body government at Shaw Elementary School. Each year after that, he was elected to class office. During his senior year at Francis T. Nicholls High School (now KIPP Renaissance High School) in the Ninth Ward of New Orleans, he was president of both his senior class and the student body, a school first.
Lee was born in Washington, D.C. on 4 June 1872 and was appointed as a second lieutenant in the Marine Corps for the Spanish–American War on 2 August 1898. He served at the Havana Naval Station during the war, and following it, aboard various ships of the United States Navy and many Marine Corps stations.
In gambling, snake eyes is the outcome of rolling the dice in a game and getting only one pip on each die. The pair of pips resembles a pair of eyes, which is appended to the term 'snake' because of the long-standing association of this word with treachery and betrayal. The dictionary of etymology traces that use of the term back to 1929, although it may be traced all the way back to the ancient Roman dice games, where 'Dogs' represented two ones. They referred to this as "the dog throw". In modern parlance, it refers to such a roll in any game involving dice.
Because this is the lowest possible roll, and will often be a loser in many dice games, such as Craps, the term has been employed in a more general usage as a reference to bad luck.
The odds of rolling snake eyes on two six-sided dice are 1-in-36. In some board games, such as Monopoly, house rules may decide that this roll earns the player a bonus due to it being rare and otherwise disadvantageous.
Released in 1998, the film was written by David Koepp and De Palma, and was released to theaters on August 7 of 1998. It cost an estimated $73 million to produce, returned $103 million worldwide and received mixed to negative responses from critics.
Plot
Corrupt, flamboyant Atlantic City police detective Rick Santoro (Nicolas Cage) attends a boxing match at Gilbert Powell's (John Heard) Atlantic City Arena between heavyweight champion Lincoln Tyler (Stan Shaw) and challenger Jose Pacifico Ruiz. He meets up with his best friend since childhood, Kevin Dunne (Gary Sinise), who is a US Navy Commander working with the Department of Defense to escort Defense Secretary Charles Kirkland (Joel Fabiani) and Powell at the fight after a trip to Norfolk, Virginia. As the first round begins, Dunne is distracted by an attractive redhead named Serena (Jayne Heitmeyer) who wears a ruby ring, and leaves his seat, which is then taken by Julia Costello (Carla Gugino), a mysterious woman with platinum blonde hair and a white satin suit.

Lyrics:
Get down, get down, little Henry Lee
And stay all night with me
You won't find a girl in this damn world
That will compare with me
And the wind did howl and the wind did blow
La la la la la
La la la la lee
A little bird lit down on Henry Lee
I can't get down and I won't get down
And stay all night with thee
For the girl I have in that merry green land
I love far better than thee
And the wind did howl and the wind did blow
La la la la la
La la la la lee
A little bird lit down on Henry Lee
She leaned herself against a fence
Just for a kiss or two
And with a little pen-knife held in her hand
She plugged him through and through
And the wind did roar and the wind did moan
La la la la la
La la la la lee
A little bird lit down on Henry Lee
Come take him by his lilly-white hands
Come take him by his feet
And throw him in this deep deep well
Which is more than one hundred feet
And the wind did howl and the wind did blow
La la la la la
La la la la lee
A little bird lit down on Henry Lee
Lie there, lie there, little Henry Lee
Till the flesh drops from your bones
For the girl you have in that merry green land
Can wait forever for you to come home
And the wind did howl and the wind did moan
La la la la la
La la la la lee

Full Metal Jacket is a 1987 war film directed, co-written, and produced by Stanley Kubrick and starring Matthew Modine, R. Lee Ermey, Vincent D'Onofrio and Adam Baldwin. The screenplay by Kubrick, Michael Herr, and Gustav Hasford was based on Hasford's novel The Short-Timers (1979). The storyline follows a platoon of U.S. Marines through their training, primarily focusing on two privates, Joker and Pyle, who struggle to get through boot camp under their abusive drill instructor, Gunnery Sergeant Hartman, and the experiences of two of the platoon's Marines in the Tet Offensive during the Vietnam War. During the Battle of Soissons, the attack outlined in Tenth Army Order 301 is a “continuation of the attack for the purpose of gaining the objectives announced for 18 July 1918. The attack will be launched at 04:00 with the assistance of tanks under the same condition as for 18 July.” Although there is no record of their release from XX Corps, the 6th Marine Regiment are taken out of reserve to replace the 5th Marines on the northern flank of the 2nd Infantry Division attack zone. Lieutenant Daniel Bender, regimental gas officer of the 6th Marines, moves forward with the first wave to check for toxic shells. The French 38th Division operating in the sector south of the 2nd ID attacks in a northeastern direction. These attacks cause the Germans to designate the Highway as the next defensive position. The French XX Corps liaison officer delivering the attack orders for 19 July is unable to locate the 2nd Division headquarters until 02:00. This delay causes the attack, originally scheduled for 4:00 am, to be pushed back to 07:00. The 1st Battalion, 2nd Engineers and the 4th Machine Gun Battalion are designated as the division reserve. Twenty-eight French tanks are assigned to support the attack. The assembly area for the 6th Marines is approximately 1.55 miles southeast from the frontlines.
Battalion commanders chose a partially concealed route to the jump-off line adding another 0.6 miles to the march. Failing to coordinate the actual jump-off time with the artillery, the Marines move out from the assembly area when the rolling barrage commences at 06:30. At 08:15, from the railway station in Vierzy, Marine Lieutenant Colonel Harry Lee issues his order deploying the regiment. As with the 5th Marines the previous day, Lee uses two attack battalions placing 1st Battalion on the right flank and 2nd Battalion on the left flank, with 3rd Battalion following in support. While 2nd Battalion moves north, 1st Battalion pushes through the town and up the east bank of the ravine to the plateau with the tanks following.
Since the barrage is early, the Germans are aware that an attack is imminent. When the Marines begin their advance, they are still 1 mile from the front line and about 2.5 miles from their main objective. As 2nd Battalion begins moving east through the wheat fields, a heavy artillery barrage opens up. The advance is slower than normal as they keep pace with the tanks they are following in support. As soon as the Marines pass through the front line, they begin taking machine gun fire from the elevations to the east and north. They advance until 09:30 where they occupy abandoned German foxholes. They remain here until 16:00 while taking continuous artillery, machine gun, and rifle fire.

Lyrics:
Get down, get down, little Henry Lee
And stay all night with me
You won't find a girl in this damn world
That will compare with me
And the wind did howl and the wind did blow
La la la la la
La la la la lee
A little bird lit down on Henry Lee
I can't get down and I won't get down
And stay all night with thee
For the girl I have in that merry green land
I love far better than thee
And the wind did howl and the wind did blow
La la la la la
La la la la lee
A little bird lit down on Henry Lee
She leaned herself against a fence
Just for a kiss or two
And with a little pen-knife held in her hand
She plugged him through and through
And the wind did roar and the wind did moan
La la la la la
La la la la lee
A little bird lit down on Henry Lee
Come take him by his lilly-white hands
Come take him by his feet
And throw him in this deep deep well
Which is more than one hundred feet
And the wind did howl and the wind did blow
La la la la la
La la la la lee
A little bird lit down on Henry Lee
Lie there, lie there, little Henry Lee
Till the flesh drops from your bones
For the girl you have in that merry green land
Can wait forever for you to come home
And the wind did howl and the wind did moan
La la la la la
La la la la lee
A little bird lit down on Henry Lee

A clip from "Full Metal Jacket" converted to 60fps using motion-compensated frame interpolation (MCFI)
The film's title refers to the full metal jacket bullet used by soldiers. The film was released in the United States on June 26, 1987. It was the last of Kubrick's films to be released during his lifetime.

While bent over examining a dud shell he is shot in the buttocks, injuring his spine. Bender dispatches a field message to the rear:
“No gas. Shot in the ass. Bender.”
