A search and rescue transponder (SART) is a self-contained, waterproof transponder intended for emergency use at sea. These devices may be either a radar-SART, or a GPS-based AIS-SART (automatic identification system SART).
The radar-SART is used to locate a survival craft or distressed vessel by creating a series of dots on a rescuing ship's radar display. A SART will only respond to a 9GHz X-band (3cm wavelength) radar. It will not be seen on S-band (10cm) or other radar. Shipboard Global Maritime Distress Safety System (GMDSS) include one or more search and rescue locating devices.
The radar-SART may be triggered by any X-band radar within a range of approximately 8 nautical miles (15 kilometers). Each radar pulse received causes the SART to transmit a response which is swept repetitively across the complete radar frequency band. When interrogated, it first sweeps rapidly (0.4 microsecond) through the band before beginning a relatively slow sweep (7.5 microseconds) through the band back to the starting frequency. This process is repeated for a total of twelve complete cycles. At some point in each sweep, the radar-SART frequency will match that of the interrogating radar and be within the pass band of the radar receiver. If the radar-SART is within range, the frequency match during each of the 12 slow sweeps will produce a response on the radar display, thus a line of 12 dots equally spaced by about 0.64 nautical mile (1.2km) will be shown. When the range to the radar-SART is reduced to about 1 nautical mile (2km), the radar display may show also the 12 responses generated during the fast sweeps. These additional dot responses, which also are equally spaced by 0.64 nautical mile (1.2km), will be interspersed with the original line of 12 dots. They will appear slightly weaker and smaller than the original dots.
Search and rescue (SAR) is the search for and provision of aid to people who are in distress or imminent danger. The general field of search and rescue includes many specialty sub-fields, typically determined by the type of terrain the search is conducted over. These include mountain rescue; ground search and rescue, including the use of search and rescue dogs; urban search and rescue in cities; combat search and rescue on the battlefield and air-sea rescue over water.
International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG) is a UN Organization that promotes the exchange of information between national Urban Search and Rescue Organizations. The duty to render assistance is covered by Article 98 of the UNCLOS.
Definitions
There are many different definitions of search and rescue, depending on the agency involved.
Canadian Forces: "Search and Rescue comprises the search for, and provision of aid to, persons, ships or other craft which are, or are feared to be, in distress or imminent danger."
"Search and Rescue" is the fifth season premiere of science fiction television show Stargate Atlantis, and is the 81st episode of the series. The episode premiered on July 11, 2008 in the United States on SCI FI channel, and was then shown on Canada's The Movie Network. The episode premiered over a month later in the United Kingdom on August 19 on Sky One.iTunes USA also made the episode available for download several days later. However, by the next episode, "Seed", shows will be added at the same time as they are scheduled to air. This is the 26th episode of Stargate Atlantis to be written by Martin Gero. The episode introduces several changes in the personnel and command of Atlantis, seeing Richard Woolsey (Robert Picardo) take over command of the base.
The episode continues on from Season Four's finale — "The Last Man" — on a series of story arcs based around Wraith character "Michael" (played by Connor Trinneer). In the previous episode, Lieutenant Colonel John Sheppard (Joe Flanigan) is transported forward 48,000 years into the future in an accident involving the Stargate and a solar flare, ultimately leading him to find out the fate of his teammates and the fate of Teyla Emmagan (Rachel Luttrell) in particular— who in his time line still remains captive by Michael. Sheppard manages to return to Atlantis in his proper time line (the year 2008), where he along with McKay (David Hewlett), Ronon Dex (Jason Momoa) and Major Lorne's team gate to the world where he determines Teyla will be taken. However, they arrive prematurely and during a sweep of the computers, McKay triggers a booby trap that causes the entire complex to collapse on top of the team.

VISION:
To create a proud and unified Marine community where transparency and the right guidance is easily available.
MISSION:
To be HONEST, while guiding people.
To be FEARLESS when creating a transparent World.
To take any possible INITIATIVE in creating a proud and unified marine community.
Hi!!! Below is my short Bio
I am a Chief Engineer by profession.
I have been sailing for the last 14 years. Passed out from MERI Kolkata in the year 2008. Joined Seaarland Ship Management as an Engine Cadet, over the course I have sailed in the past with British Petroleum and Anglo-Eastern as well.
With the help of YT Channel Merchant Navy Decoded and the website www.merchantnavydecoded.com, we are trying to make this profession more transparent. All our endeavors are towards promoting good shipping companies, good colleges and sharing updated information about the same.
There are so many myths attached to this profession and so many fraudulent activities operational that sometimes even students with good backgrounds land themselves into bad Shipping Companies. Futures have been destroyed because of lack of proper guidance and this YouTube channel will try its best to help those who are in need to get into a good shipping company.
Along with proper information, we also aim at glorifying good Shipping Companies, good colleges, so that awareness can be created and deserving candidates do not miss out on an opportunity to join a good college or company.
We aim at building a safe ecosystem for GME Aspirants, Marine Engineering Students,Diploma in Marine Engineering students, Deck Cadets, DNS Aspirants, IMUCET Aspirants, Electro-Technical Officer and lastly most importantly GP Rating.
There are a lot of blogs being written on the website: www.merchantnavydecoded.com for aspirants to get proper guidance as well.
A dozen city lights it's bitter cold tonight I'll see all you've got and youll see mine just watch your own life and pass it by I'm not satisfied just complicated So go and we'll jet this place together it's what you want so tell me what we've got now no more time to mess around now contemplating of our time yeah If forever stays this warm then theres no harm in our future so whats our future it's written out in sand Just take my hand we'll drive away Let's go somewhere far now We'll dissipate our fears and make them thoughts of hope You're saying that I'm blind but she doesn't know I'll never leave her side A lover she's called so I'll wait forever but shes already mine my heart search and rescue but I found you But hey wonderful Isn't she beautiful?
