Sean Paul Ryan Francis Henriques (born 9 January 1973), known simply as Sean Paul, is a Jamaican dancehallragga hip hop recording artist, musician, producer and actor.
Life and career
1973–1996: Early life
Sean Paul was born in Kingston, Jamaica to parents Garth and Frances, both of whom were talented athletes. His mother is a well-known painter. His paternal grandfather had Sephardi Jewish ancestry, from a family that had emigrated from Portugal, and his paternal grandmother was Afro-Caribbean; his mother is of English and Chinese Jamaican descent. Sean Paul was raised as a Catholic, though aware that his grandfather came from an old respected Jamaican Jewish family. Many members of his family are swimmers. His grandfather was on the first Jamaican men's national water polo team. His father also played water polo for the team in the 1960s, and competed in long-distance swimming, while Sean Paul's mother was a backstroke swimmer. Sean Paul played for the national water polo team from the age of 13 to 21, when he gave up the sport in order to launch his musical career. He attended Wolmer's Boys' School and the College of Arts, Science, and Technology, now known as the University of Technology, where he was trained in commerce with an aim of pursuing an occupation in hotel management.
Jeffrey Ray Grigsby and Sean Paul Joseph met at Decatur's Miller Grove Middle School, where they started the Attic Crew with some friends.
Their debut album was Against Da Grain released in 1999 on LaFace Records. The two are best known for singles such as "U-Way" (1999) and "85" (2000), which featured Big Boi, a well-known member of OutKast and Chris Streng. After a three-year absence, they returned with Cadillac Pimpin' in 2002, scoring a moderate hit. The duo's sophomore effort featured Grammy-nominated single "Damn!", reaching number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and becoming their only Top 10 hit. It was produced by Lil Jon.
YoungBloodz released Ev'rybody Know Me in 2005, an album that left its own mark on hip-hop with singles like "Datz Me" featuring Young Buck, a then member of G-Unit and another Lil Jon-produced hit "Presidential" and "Chop Chop", produced by Scott Storch. Their song "I'mma Shine" was featured in the 2006 movie 'Step Up' and in its soundtrack. The soundtrack reached number one on the US Billboard Top Soundtracks in 2006.

Sean Paul Joseph (born 1978), American artist, member of the hip hop duo YoungBloodZ
Sean Paul Lockhart (born 1986), American actor, director, producer. Also known as Brent Corrigan and Fox Ryder, stage names for his gay pornographic acting career
"Ayo Technology" is the fourth single from 50 Cent's third album, Curtis. The song, featuring Justin Timberlake and uncredited vocals from Timbaland, who also produced the song, peaked at number five on the Billboard Hot 100. Internationally, the song peaked within the top ten of the charts in many countries, including Australia, Denmark and the United Kingdom. The song has since been covered by Milow, a Belgian singer-songwriter whose version was successful in a number of countries, including Belgium, Spain, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands, Skyla, a British singer-songwriter whose version is popular in the dance genre and Katerine Avgoustakis, a Belgian singer, whose version was successful in Poland.
The album sold over 109,000 copies in its first day of release, eventually selling 234,662 copies in its first week according to Hits Daily Double, placing it at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200 albums chart. According to Soundscan, the album has sold over 935,000 copies to date. In early 2007, it was certified Platinum for over one million copies shipped domestically. The album is currently Danity Kane's best-selling album.
Singles
The band's debut lead single from the album was "Show Stopper" with Yung Joc. The song was followed by the moderately successful ballad, "Ride for You". The label wanted to release "Hold Me Down" as the third single, however the band lobbied for "Right Now" or "Want It". No definitive answer surfaced for the lack of singles on the debut album but this is attributed to management issues with the next single decision and the less than stellar chart performance of "Ride for You". Further singles were cancelled and Danity Kane returned to the studio in 2007 to record new material for their sophomore album.
