Life and career
1973–1996: Early life
Sean Paul was born in Kingston, Jamaica to parents Garth and Frances, both of whom were talented athletes. His mother is a well-known painter. His paternal grandfather had Sephardi Jewish ancestry, from a family that had emigrated from Portugal, and his paternal grandmother was Afro-Caribbean; his mother is of English and Chinese Jamaican descent. Sean Paul was raised as a Catholic, though aware that his grandfather came from an old respected Jamaican Jewish family. Many members of his family are swimmers. His grandfather was on the first Jamaican men's national water polo team. His father also played water polo for the team in the 1960s, and competed in long-distance swimming, while Sean Paul's mother was a backstroke swimmer. Sean Paul played for the national water polo team from the age of 13 to 21, when he gave up the sport in order to launch his musical career. He attended Wolmer's Boys' School and the College of Arts, Science, and Technology, now known as the University of Technology, where he was trained in commerce with an aim of pursuing an occupation in hotel management.
Jeffrey Ray Grigsby and Sean Paul Joseph met at Decatur's Miller Grove Middle School, where they started the Attic Crew with some friends.
Their debut album was Against Da Grain released in 1999 on LaFace Records. The two are best known for singles such as "U-Way" (1999) and "85" (2000), which featured Big Boi, a well-known member of OutKast and Chris Streng. After a three-year absence, they returned with Cadillac Pimpin' in 2002, scoring a moderate hit. The duo's sophomore effort featured Grammy-nominated single "Damn!", reaching number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and becoming their only Top 10 hit. It was produced by Lil Jon.
YoungBloodz released Ev'rybody Know Me in 2005, an album that left its own mark on hip-hop with singles like "Datz Me" featuring Young Buck, a then member of G-Unit and another Lil Jon-produced hit "Presidential" and "Chop Chop", produced by Scott Storch. Their song "I'mma Shine" was featured in the 2006 movie 'Step Up' and in its soundtrack. The soundtrack reached number one on the US Billboard Top Soundtracks in 2006.
Sean Paul (born 1973) is a Jamaican dancehall and reggae artist.
Sean Paul may also refer to:
Sean Paul Joseph (born 1978), American artist, member of the hip hop duo YoungBloodZ
Sean Paul Lockhart (born 1986), American actor, director, producer. Also known as Brent Corrigan and Fox Ryder, stage names for his gay pornographic acting career
José Alejandro Suárez Martín (born 6 March 1974), known as Alexis, is a Spanish retired footballer who played mainly as a central defender.
He amassed La Liga totals of 195 games and seven goals over the course of eight seasons, representing in the competition Tenerife, Levante and Valladolid.
After another promotion and relegation with Levante he scored a rare goal in 2006–07, in a 1–0 away win against Recreativo de Huelva on 17 September 2006, being an undisputed first-choice throughout the top flight campaign (33 starts in 34 appearances, 2,979 minutes of action).
Alexis was born in Breslau, Silesia. His father, who came of a French refugee family, named Hareng, held a high position in the war department. He attended the Werdersche Gymnasium in Berlin, and then, serving as a volunteer in the campaign of 1815, took part in the siege of the Ardenne fortresses. On his return, he studied law at the University of Berlin and the University of Breslau and entered the legal profession, but he soon abandoned this career and devoted himself to literature. Settling in Berlin, he edited, from 1827 to 1835, the Berliner Konversationsblatt, in which for the first two years he was assisted by Friedrich Christoph Forster (1791-1868); and in 1828 was created a doctor of philosophy by the University of Halle. In 1852 he retired to Arnstadt in Thuringia, where after many years of broken health he died.
Corydon (from the Greekκόρυδοςkorudos "lark") is a stock name for a shepherd in ancient Greek pastoral poems and fables, such as the one in Idyll 4 of the Syracusan poet Theocritus (c.310-250 BC). The name was also used by the Latin poets Siculus and, more significantly, Virgil. In the second of Virgil's Eclogues, it is used for a shepherd whose love for the boy Alexis is described therein. Virgil's Corydon gives his name to the modern book Corydon.
Corydon is the name of a character that features heavily in the Eclogues of Calpurnius Siculus. Some scholars believe that Calpurnius represents himself, or at least his "poetic voice" through Corydon,
Corydon is mentioned in Edmund Spenser's The Fairie Queen as a shepherd in Book VI, Canto X. In this section he is portrayed as a coward who fails to come to the aid of Pastorell when she is being pursued by a tiger.
The name also appears in poem number 17 ("My flocks feed not, my ewes breed not") of The Passionate Pilgrim, an anthology of poetry first published in 1599 and attributed on the title page of the collection to Shakespeare. This poem appeared the following year in another collection, England's Helicon, where it was attributed to "Ignoto" (Latin for "Unknown"). Circumstantial evidence points to a possible authorship by Richard Barnfield, whose first published work, The Affectionate Shepherd, though dealing with the unrequited love of Daphnis for Ganymede, was in fact, as Barnfield stated later, an expansion of Virgil's second Eclogue which dealt with the love of Corydon for Alexis.

Jordan Village is located on land known historically as Jordan Plain, a flat land area at the head of Jordan Cove, an estuary off Long Island Sound. The historic district surrounds the intersection of Rope Ferry Road and North Road.
