What Are Quarks? Explained In 1 Minute
Quarks are the ultimate building blocks of visible matter in the universe.
If we could zoom in on an atom in your body, we would see that it consists of electrons swarming in orbits around a nucleus of protons and neutrons. And if we could zoom in on one of those protons or neutrons, we'd find that they themselves are made up of a trio of particles that are so small that they have almost no size at all, and are little more than points. These point-like particles are the quarks.
Quarks are elementary particles. Like electrons, they are not made up of any other particles. You could say that they are on the ground floor of the Standard Model of particle physics. It turns out that there are actually six types, or flavors, of quarks in total. Besides the up, down, and strange quarks, there a...

If you were to take a coffee cup, and break it in half, then in half again, and keep carrying on, where would you end up? Could you keep on going forever? Or would you eventually find a set of indivisible building blocks out of which everything is made? Jonathan Butterworth explains the Standard Model theory and how it helps us understand the world we live in.

Quantum mechanics gets weirder as you go to smaller sizes and higher energies. It’s strange enough for atoms, but positively bizarre when we get to the atomic nucleus. And today we’re going nuclear, as we dive into the weird world of quantum chromodynamics and the strong force.

2 Subatomic Stories: Quarks
Quarks are fundamental subatomic particles found in the center of atoms. They interact strongly with one another and are the building blocks of protons and neutrons. Two of them were discovered at Fermilab. In episode 2 of Subatomic Stories, Fermilab’s Dr. Don Lincoln tells us about these fascinating particles.

The humble proton may seem simple enough, and they’re certainly common. People are made of cells, cells are made of molecules, molecules are made of atoms, atoms are made of electrons, protons, and neutrons. And protons are each made of three up or down quarks. Simple stuff, right? All except for that last part. Protons are actually made of many, many quarks that happen to look like three only when we look at them in a particular way. And even then, sometimes they’re made of 5 quarks - including the charm quark.

Besides the up, down, and strange quarks, there are also "charm", "top" and "bottom" quarks.
Quarks combine to form composite particles called hadrons, the most stable of which are protons and neutrons, the components of atomic nuclei. All commonly observable matter comprises of quarks, down quarks, and electrons.
Owing to a phenomenon known as color confinement, quarks are never found in isolation; they can be found only within hadrons, which include baryons (such as protons and neutrons) and mesons, or in quark–gluon plasmas. For this reason, much of what is known about quarks has been drawn from observations of hadrons.
For every quark flavor, there is a corresponding type of antiparticle, known as an antiquark, that differs from the quark only in that some of its properties (such as the electric charge) have equal magnitude but opposite signs.

Lesson by Jon Butterworth, directed by Nick Hilditch.

Quantum mechanics gets weirder as you go to smaller sizes and higher energies. It’s strange enough for atoms, but positively bizarre when we get to the atomic nucleus. And today we’re going nuclear, as we dive into the weird world of quantum chromodynamics and the strong force.

The Securities Act of 1933 and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934
This video discusses how the Securities Act of 1933 and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 affected financial accounting in the United States. These acts created the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and require publicly-traded companies to be registered with the SEC. Publicly-traded companies must file an annual report (the 10-K), a quarterly report (the 10-Q), and a report whenever there is a material event (the 8-K) such as a bankruptcy, change of ownership, etc. This significantly increased the regulation for public companies in the U.S. and increased protections for investors.—

Wall Street Words word of the day = Securities Exchange Act of 1934
Hello YouTube, Todd Ault here, and Welcome to Wall Street Words! Today's Wall Street term is "Securities Exchange Act of 1934"
This is a really important date. Before 1929, the securities markets were unregulated; they ran afoul like crazy. There were boiler rooms, all kinds of scams, problems and Congress, after the crash of 1929, wanted to establish a way of regulating the markets. The 1934 Act created the Securities and Exchange Commission to monitor the over-the-counter markets, exchange markets, stocks, bonds, etc., and change the world forever when it came to finance. Hey, by the way, the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 really changed the world forever when it came to capital formation. Around the world, people based their economies and based what they do in securities laws on what ...

Hey, by the way, the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 really changed the world forever when it came to capital formation. Around the world, people based their economies and based what they do in securities laws on what happens with the Securities Exchange Commission, which of course, was formed under the 34 Act. This has changed the world of capital formation forever, and made America one of the best securities markets in the world. The Securities and Exchange Act of 1934.
Definition - Created to govern securities transactions on the secondary market, after issue, ensuring greater financial transparency and accuracy and less fraud or manipulation. The SEA authorized the formation of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the regulatory arm of the SEA. The SEC has the power to oversee securities; stocks, bonds, and over-the-counter securities as well as markets and the conduct of financial professionals, including brokers, dealers, and investment advisors. It also monitors the financial reports that publicly traded companies are required to disclose.
In today's world, knowledge is powerful and I'm here to share my 30+ years of Wall Street experience with you. Wall Street can definitely be intimidating for a lot of people, so I'm super excited to announce our launching of "Wall Street Words."
Whether you are an entrepreneur just starting your Business, or are a seasoned Business owner, like myself, Wall Street Words with Todd Ault will be surely become your new favorite channel.
I've had a lot of personal success when investing or trading stock and I want to share these Wall Street terms to help educate you, the viewer when it comes to the NYSE aka the New York Stock Exchange. My goal is to provide you with new information and real world examples of trading and market terms, phrases, forms needed by the SEC, so you can have the ability to make a more educated choice before you hit "The Street."

https://wn.com/Securities_Explained_In_One_Minute_From_Definition_Meaning_To_Examples
What are securities?
While the term might seem like one of those complicated concepts absolutely nobody "gets" at first, securities are actually quite easy to understand.
In fact, many of the assets you've known about since pretty much forever are securities, you just didn't know it.
We'll be covering absolutely everything related to securities in just one minute, from the definition or if you will meaning of the term "securities" to various examples which should make it clear what they're all about.
Once you start wrapping your head around some examples, an "aha!" moment should follow relatively quickly.
Do yourself a favor and watch this before and/or after reading "textbook" definitions of securities. A lot of times, it seems as if these definitions are intentionally confusing and that's a shame because the meaning of the term "security" should be something each and every person who is at least moderately interested in economics should know about.
