Scott Robinson (born April 27, 1959 in New Jersey) is an Americanjazz musician. Robinson is best known for his work with various styles of saxophone, but has also performed with the clarinet, flute, trumpet, and sarrusophone, along with other, more obscure instruments.
Musical career
The son of a piano teacher and a senior book editor for the National Geographic Society, Washington, D.C.]], Robinson graduated from the Berklee College of Music in 1981. The next year, he joined the college's staff, becoming its youngest faculty member.
In 2000, the U.S. State Department named Robinson a "Jazz Ambassador" for the year 2001, funding a tour of West Africa in which Robinson played the early works of Louis Armstrong. Material from these appearances was subsequently released on the album Jazz Ambassador: Scott Robinson Plays the Compositions of Louis Armstrong by Arbors Records.
Scott Robinson (born 8 May 1991) is a male former water polo player from Canada.
Personal
His parents are Andrew and Lisa and he has a younger sister Cara. Robinson lives in Calgary. He is studying Business at Mount Royal University but on hiatus while playing pro in Europe.
Career
He started playing water polo when he was 9 years old. Robinson has progressed through the national team program, winning bronze at the 2007 youth Pan Am Games before helping the Canadian men win their first ever gold at the junior Pan Am Games in 2010. He was then part of Canada’s silver medal-winning senior squad at the 2011 Pan Am Games in Guadalajara. Robinson has made two appearances at the FINA World Championships and helped Canada to a best ever sixth place finish in the 2014 FINA Water Polo World League Super Final. He currently plays professionally in Croatia for Ovk Posk. He had been a competitive swimmer. He was part of the Canadian team at the 2013 World Aquatics Championships in Barcelona, Spain, where they finished in 11th place.
Robinson was born in Edinburgh on 12 March 1992 and attended Boroughmuir High School and played for Hutchison Vale Boys Club before signing his first professional contract at Hearts in April 2006.
He made his first team debut as a substitute on 26 April 2008, as a striker, against Inverness Caledonian Thistle in Hearts 1–0 win at Tynecastle Stadium. In doing so he became the youngest player in SPL history and also the youngest player to have ever played competitive football for Hearts. He was 16 years, 1 month and 14 days old. He was given a new contract on 14 July 2008, extending his stay until 2011.
Robinson spent the following season playing reserve and under 19 fixtures to gain experience. He returned to first team football on 26 September 2009, against Hamilton as a substitute, going on to score his first competitive goal for Hearts in a 1–1 draw with Rangers at Ibrox on 23 January 2010. He made 14 appearances in total that season.
