Rushey Mead is an electoral ward and administrative division of the city of Leicester, England. It comprises the northern Leicester suburb of Rushey Mead in its entirety, as well as historical parts of Northfields and Thurmaston.
Rushey Mead was originally a part of the Thurmaston civil parish during the 19th century. The modern day suburb was split from Thurmaston and gazetted as a "Thurmaston Urban District" in 1894, before being annexed to the City of Leicester in 1935, when it was renamed Rushey Mead.
Demographics
Like neighbouring suburb Belgrave, Rushey Mead is home to a large Asian immigrant population, and had a 63% Indian ethnic majority during the 2001 census.

Results Day 2020
Congratulations to our 2020 Year 11 cohort on their fantastic set of GCSE results. We are very proud of them all and the results reflect their hard work and dedication and that of their highly skilled teachers and all other staff.
As always, there were some exceptional individual performances with one student achieving grade 9s in all of his subjects! Seven students achieved a remarkable grade 9 in both English and maths.
With regard to the EBacc suite of qualifications, 153 students achieved a grade 5 in English, maths, science, languages and humanities and 56% of students achieved a standard pass in the EBacc suite of subjects.
