The Clean are an indie rock band that formed in Dunedin, New Zealand in 1978, and have been described as the most influential band to come from the Flying Nun label, whose repertoire included many major components of the "Dunedin Sound".
Led through a number of early rotating line-ups by brothers Hamish and David Kilgour, the band settled down to their well-known and current line-up with bassist Robert Scott.
History
Hamish and David Kilgour started to play and write music together in Dunedin in 1978, "building up a fat songbook of primitive punk, minimalist pop, infectious folk rock and adventurous psychedelic instrumentals. Their sound was built around David Kilgour’s off-centre, 1960s-influenced guitar, Hamish’s motorik drumming and melodic driving bass, first from Peter Gutteridge then Robert Scott".
The band's 1981 debut single "Tally Ho!" was the second release on Roger Shepherd's Flying Nun Records label. "Tally Ho!" reached number 19 on the New Zealand Singles Charts, giving the fledgling label its first hit.

Clean Your Rope
How to clean an arborist climbing line in a washing machine.
Steps:
1.Remove system components
2. Find both ends and tie them together (fold rope in half basically)
3. Daisy chain it
4. Throw it in the washing machine
(Optional: Place rope in mesh bag, if you have a washing machine with an agitator, often found on top loading washing machines)
5. Add a small amount of dye and scent free detergent (Dreft is a good brand) - detergent is not required, however it will make the rope much cleaner
6. Set machine to high spin, cold water (NOT HOT)
7. Let it runnnnnnnn
8. Remove from machine
9. Un-daisy chain it
10. Hang it up, allow to dry
11. Done.

How to Clean Top Rope Anchors
Although cleaning top rope anchors is a fairy straight forward task it still leads to many close calls and accidents every year. In this video learn the foundational skills to clean top top anchors and be lowered off of a single pitch climb with help from the American Mountain Guides Association.
The issues of when to lower or when to rappel is a complex one and has no perfect answer. The most common way to get off a crag pitch is to lower and many crags have been set up with lowering in mind by installing easy to replace rings or twist links. That being said many crags have a local ethos of rappelling whenever possible and this is certainly a best practice when anchor wear is a concern.
