Racewalking, or race walking, is a long-distance discipline within the sport of athletics. Although it is a foot race, it is different from running in that one foot must appear to be in contact with the ground at all times. This is assessed by race judges, making it the most subjective of the disciplines in athletics. Typically held on either roads or on running tracks, common distances vary from 3000metres (1.8mi) up to 100 kilometres (62.1mi).

Olympic-style race walking has been an event in the modern games since 1908. The rules are simple:
1. Land with a straight knee that remains straight until the hip has passed over the supporting leg and;
2. Keep at least one leg in contact with the ground at all times.
While judges determine your ability to maintain correct form in official races that range from 1500 meters - 50,000 meters, many walkers simply enjoy this full-body exercise for an awesome low-impact cardio fitness in their neighborhood.

This was based on text messages in 2019 between Mr Walker, who is mixed race, and Natalie Pryce who told him that she had heard there was a ‘division’ in the music team between black and white ...
