Raidió Teilifís Éireann (Irish pronunciation:[ˈradʲo ˈtʲɛlʲəfʲiːʃ ˈeːrʲən]; Radio [and] Television of Ireland; abbreviated as RTÉ) is a semi-state company and the national public service broadcaster of Ireland. It both produces programmes and broadcasts them on television, radio and the Internet. The radio service began on 1 January 1926, while regular television broadcasts began on 31 December 1961, making it one of the oldest continuously operating public service broadcasters in the world. RTÉ also publishes a magazine called the RTÉ Guide, published weekly, which is orientated around RTÉ television and radio.
RTÉ is financed by a television licence fee and through advertising. Some RTÉ services are only funded by advertising, while other RTÉ services are only funded by the licence fee. RTÉ is a statutory body, run by a board appointed by the Government of Ireland. General management of the organisation is in the hands of the Executive Board headed by the Director-General. RTÉ is regulated by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland. Radio Éireann, RTÉ's predecessor and at the time a section of the Department of Posts and Telegraphs, was one of 23 founding organisations of the European Broadcasting Union in 1950.
Chill Radio broadcasts online and via numerous mobile applications, and on DAB in London, Leicester and Nottingham. The station's aim is to help listeners relax. It is owned by Global Radio.
It broadcasts 24 hours a day and, as of July 2009, features no news bulletins or commercials, although there is some sponsored programming. Chill originally had no presenters, interspersing tracks with pre-recorded links featuring messages voiced by Davinia Palmer that reinforced the laidback atmosphere of the station. One of these memorably described the station as "T'ai chi for your ears".
In August 2006, the station launched its first regular programmes on weekday evenings, "The Garden of Delights", presented by Pete Lawrence and "The Deep End", presented by Paul Noble, two of the organisers of The Big Chill festival. It also introduced a nightly programme made up of listener requests, and inherited the Chiller Cabinet sequence from its sister station Classic FM, which plays "ambient soundscapes, movie soundtracks and classically inspired chillout music".
Sirius XM Chill, is an electronica radio station, one of four Dance/Electronic music satellite channels operated by Sirius XM Radio, broadcasting on Sirius Satellite Radio channel 53 (previously 35), XM Satellite Radio channel 53 (previously 84) and Dish Network channel 6035. Until February 9, 2010, it was heard on DirecTV channel 857. The channel plays groove-based downtempo or "chillout music" and mellow tracks from alternative artists such as Coldplay, Cat Power and Radiohead. The station does not have any DJs. On November 12, 2008, the channel became Sirius XM Chill and merged with the XM version. On May 5, 2011, chill can now be heard on channel 53 for both services and Dish Network 6053.
A chill is an object used to promote solidification in a specific portion of a metal castingmold. Normally the metal in the mold cools at a certain rate relative to thickness of the casting. When the geometry of the molding cavity prevents directional solidification from occurring naturally, a chill can be strategically placed to help promote it. There are two types of chills: internal and external chills.
Types
Internal chills are pieces of metal that are placed inside the molding cavity. When the cavity is filled, part of the chill will melt and ultimately become part of the casting, thus the chill must be the same material as the casting. Note that internal chills will absorb both heat capacity and heat of fusion energy.
External chills are masses of material that have a high heat capacity and thermal conductivity. They are placed on the edge of the molding cavity, and effectively become part of the wall of the molding cavity. This type of chill can be used to increase the feeding distance of a riser or reduce the number of risers required.
ESB claims Red Bull skydive over Dublin was a 'serious safety incident'
The ESB has described a stunt where three skydivers flew between the Poolbeg Chimneys in Dublin as a "serious safety incident".
Footage shows Red Bull's Marco Fürst, Marco Waltenspiel and Max Manow flying through the two chimneys this morning, reaching a top speed of 253km/h and completing their flight in just over a minute.
The ESB says it was not approached in relation to the skydive and did not give permission for it to take place.
Red Bull Ireland has said the stunt was carried out "with rigorous safety measures and with the permission from all the required relevant authorities".

Stowaways emerge from trailer in Dublin warehouse
Watch the moment six migrants emerge from a lorry trailer parking up at a warehouse in Dublin.
This was one of the nine deliveries received by Hyland Shipping in the past week which had evidence of migrants stowing away.
On the eight other occasions, the stowaways had exited the lorry before it made the warehouse.
Because of this “unprecedented” raise in incidents, Hyland Shipping has stopped accepting deliveries that have come through Cherbourg Port in France.
