The Royal Military College was conceived by Colonel John Le Marchant, whose scheme for establishing schools for the military instruction of officers at High Wycombe and Great Marlow first met strong resistance on the grounds of cost. However, in 1801 Parliament voted a grant of £30,000 for it, and in 1802 Le Marchant, appointed as the first Lieutenant Governor of the College, opened its Junior Department at a large house in West Street, Great Marlow, to train Gentleman Cadets for the infantry and cavalry regiments of the British Army and for the Presidency armies of British India, 1802 was the same year as the founding of the French Army's Saint-Cyr and of West Point in the United States.General Sir William Harcourt was appointed as the first Governor of the Royal Military College at Great Marlow and continued in post until 1811.

After 44 weeks of military and leadership development training at the Academy, 206 Officers Cadets completed the course.
The inspecting officer was the Chief of the Defence Staff Admiral Sir Tony Radakin KCB ADC.
For this parade is was the honour of horse Jumping Jack to walk up the stairs of Sandhurst in the traditional way at the end of the parade.

More than 200 officer cadets have commissioned as officers following the latest Sovereign's Parade at Sandhurst.
In total, 209 officer cadets celebrated the massive achievement of completing 44 weeks of intensive training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
Chief of the Defence Staff Admiral Sir Tony Radakin represented the King, with the head of Britain's military spending considerable time talking to the new young officers as hundreds of family and friends looked on.

The Royal Military College of Canada was named the best international team 🥇 and finished second overall 🥈 amongst 15 participating countries at the 57th Annual Sandhurst Military Skills Competition!
Beginning in 1967 and held at the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, the Sandhurst Military Skills Competition tests Officer Cadets’ military skills, physical endurance, and teamwork. It includes navigating across approximately 43 kilometers of difficult terrain and challenges related to weapons handling, rifle marksmanship, combat swim (in full gear), trauma care, first aid, problem solving, and leadership.
These results are a testament to the quality of the military training provided at the Royal Military College of Canada. Bravo Zulu to everyone who participated!
