[1969] The Stones Left Unturned - S/T (FULL ALBUM) [garage rock, protopunk]
The Stones Left Unturned were an obscure 60s garage-rock band hailing from Ann Arbor, Michigan. Though their early history is lost to time, it is well known within the Ann Arbor underground scene, that enigmatic figure Phil Harmonic formed the group and wrote most of their songs. He was an elusive character, one who did not show his face in the scene much, but seemed to run lots of the buisness behind the scenes, according to rumors. He reportedly managed multiple bands at the time, but put nearly all his attention into his particular favorite outfit - The Stones Left Unturned. Phil discovered the group in 1965 during a local church jamboree and gathered the initially reluctant group of boys into a band, who at the time were recording clean and simple renditions of doo-wop hits, such as, "...

Phil discovered the group in 1965 during a local church jamboree and gathered the initially reluctant group of boys into a band, who at the time were recording clean and simple renditions of doo-wop hits, such as, "Silly Things", and, "Crazy Things." Pushing them to write and record, Phill left a permanent mark on the young boys, both mentally and physically. Rumors report that the Stones stopped preforming from 1966-1968 under the supervision of Phil Harmonic, where they lived at his home recording home demos and practicing day and night. They were not seen within the scene for the entire second half of the 1960s, as they tirelessly perfected their craft and sound under the totalitarian overwatch of Phil Harmonic, degenerating the young boys into drug addled, troubled young men. According to rumors, wrong notes or any lack of passion on takes resulted in lashings and beatings. Their sound and vision was transformed forever, and by the time their hiatus was finished - they emerged as a new band altogether. Grimier, louder, noisier. They were discovered by a talent scout for Phill's startup record label Telll Tale Tit Records during their first show in years, in the summer of 1969 at a local venue, and were quickly put into the studio to record an LP sometime in the fall. However, due to recklessness during the studio sessions on behalf of lead singer Randy O'Malley's acute drinking problem, it set the future of the group into jeopardy - ultimately resulting in TTT discarding the release of their debut LP, and ceasing presses of the record after a mere 15 copies were made. It began in early 1969 with a sizable budget and a myriad of session musicians, only to slowly collapse as Tell Tale Tit records found itself in a particularly precarious financial situation, due to Phill Harmonic's acute addiction to collecting antique gumball machines. By the end of the sessions, tracks were left unfinished and barren, to Randy's dismay, as he was distraught that his greatest work, "Crazy Things (Crazy Days & Crazy Nights) was completely botched by the lack of session musicians and producers, as it ended up coming out with almost no instrumental backing. Only one in existence of the record is known to be in this world. The band was completely disbanded by 1970, and the whereabouts of Phil Harmonic and the remainder of the band remain a mystery.
The rest of the members, Randy, Michael, Jimmy, and Todd were neighborhood friends who initially met hoping to mimic some of the sounds of their favorite bands: The Beatles, the Who, the Four Freshman, the Beach Boys, the Kinks, among others. What you are hearing now is one of their few surviving tracks!
It's known within the Ann Arbor underground scene that The Stones disbanded as a group due to a result of the tensions that came from Phill Harmonic's veto of Jimmy's "Silly Things", for the more sombre "Crazy Things", creating a permanent rift within the chemistry of the young hitmakers.

Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
City's a prison, can’t take no more,
Grindin’ my teeth, fists hit the floor,
They say sit down, follow the rules,
But I’m breakin’ out, yeah baby, I’m nobody’s fool.
(Pre-Chorus)
Feel the pulse, the fire inside,
A wild heartbeat and I can’t never run and hide,
I’m ready to rage, to tear it apart,
ooh!
(Verse 2)
Sick of your games, done with your lies,
Tearin’ down walls, claimin’ my prize,
They call me crazy, well, maybe I am,
But I’m takin’ back the streets, I don’t give a damn.
(Pre-Chorus)
Feel the pulse, the fire inside,
A wild heartbeat and I can’t never run and hide,
I’m ready to rage, to tear it apart,
ooh!
(Chorus)
Kickin' the cage, I’m fightin’ the chains,
Light it up, burn it down, soak it in flames,
Ain’t no leashin' me, honey.
Risin’ up, gonna brake on free!
(Bridge)
Wild dog loose, no leash on me,
hey. hey. hey.
(Outro)
Kickin' the cage,
Yeah Kickin' the cage.
Baby they kickin' the cage, hey!
Hey, Hey, Hey OOWW!
Hey OW!
Hey Ow
Mama they kickin my cage!
Cyna Hadum, named for Cerberus of Greek mythology, was an intense and fast paced act to explode out of the wake of the US involvement in the Vietnam War in 1973. Following Tim Watts (Johnny Savage) draft and return from his tour in Vietnam, and the resulting break up of Johnny Savage in 1972, Watts joined Frankie Brannigan and Mitch Conway, two talented British musicians who were craving a heavier and grittier sound to their rock. Cyna Hadum's debut album "American Argos" references the encroaching and watchful eyes of the American government post-Vietnam, its namesake being the many eyed monster of Greek mythology. Watts was believed to be resentful towards the US government upon returning home, particularly politicians, and quickly left the States to begin pushing boundaries with his new bandmates across Europe, before returning home again to record.

Lyrics:
