Porcupines are rodents with a coat of sharp spines, or quills, that protect against predators. The term covers two families of animals, the Old World porcupines and New World porcupines. Both families belong to the Hystricognathi branch of the vast order Rodentia and display similar coats of quills, but they still are quite different and are not closely related.
The Old World porcupines live in southern Europe, Asia (western as well as southern), and most of Africa. They are large, terrestrial, and strictly nocturnal. In taxonomic terms, they form the family Hystricidae.
The New World porcupines are indigenous to North America and northern South America. They live in wooded areas and can climb trees, where some species spend their entire lives. They are less strictly nocturnal than their Old World relatives, and generally smaller. In taxonomic terms, they form the family Erethizontidae.
Porcupines are the third-largest of the rodents, behind the capybara and the beaver. Most porcupines are about 25–36in (64–91cm) long, with an 8–10in (20–25cm) long tail. Weighing 12–35lb (5.4–15.9kg), they are rounded, large, and slow. Porcupines occur in various shades of brown, gray, and white. Porcupines' spiny protection resembles that of the unrelated erinaceomorphhedgehogs and Australian spiny anteaters or monotremeechidnas.
Délizia Adamo better known as Délizia (born 1952) is a singer of Italian-Belgian origin and sister of international singer Salvatore Adamo.
She had her debut single "Prend le chien" at age 14. It was written by her brother Adamo. She followed courses in drawing and took part in a comedy production at Théatre de l'Ancre in Charleroi, where she interpreted Kataeiv's "Je veux voir Moscou". She also followed dramatic arts courses at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels.
In 1974, Salvatore Adamo wrote her some songs releasing "Qui te retient" and "Aime-moi" as singles. The next year, she took part in some of his tours. In 1976 and again in 1978, she participated in pre-selections for the Belgian entry to Eurovision Song Contest but without success. She had a comeback in 1982 with "Une première danse", a song co-written by Michel Legrand and Charles Aznavour.
Rockbox is a free software replacement for the OEM firmware in various forms of digital audio players (DAPs) with an original kernel. It offers an alternative to the player's operating system, in many cases without removing the original firmware, which provides a plug-in architecture for adding various enhancements and functions. Enhancements include personal digital assistant (PDA) functions, applications, utilities, and games. Rockbox can also retrofit video playback functions on players first released in mid-2000. Rockbox includes a voice-driven user-interface suitable for operation by visually impaired users.
Rockbox runs on a wide variety of devices with very different hardware abilities: from early Archos players with 1-bit character cell-based displays, to modern players with high resolution color displays, digital optical audio hardware and advanced recording abilities.
History
The Rockbox project began in late 2001 and was first implemented on the early Archos series of hard-disk based MP3 players/recorders (including the flash-only model Ondio), because of owner frustration with severe limitations in the manufacturer-supplied user interface and device operations. These devices have relatively weak main central processing units (CPU), and instead offload music playback to dedicated hardware MP3 decoding chips (MAS). Rockbox was unable to significantly alter playback abilities. Instead, it offered a greatly improved user interface and added plug-in functions absent in the factory firmware. Rockbox can be permanently flashed into flash memory on the Archos devices, making it a firmware replacement.

Hungry Leopard Gets Defeated By Prickly Porcupine
ID: 3451997
ONSCREEN CREDIT - MARIETTE LANDMAN
This hungry leopard had no choice but to admit defeat after picking a fight with a prickly porcupine.
The predator was spotted stalking the spiky rodent, before taking a swipe at the prickly customer and quickly regretting his decision.
The bizarre battle, which lasted an hour and half, saw the determined leopard take several breaks to remove quills from his paws and lick his wounds, while the brave porcupine stuck around as if to tease his opponent.
Eventually the leopard admitted defeat and the pair slinked away together, appearing to call a truce.

Be Honest, Did You Think This About Porcupines?🪡🐷
Be honest, did you think they could shoot their quills 😏🪡
One of the most common misconceptions about porcupines is that they can shoot their quills at predators. However, this is not the case. Porcupines can only release their quills when they feel threatened and when they are touched. But this misconception is not all bad, as it can actually lead to a greater level of caution and respect for these fascinating animals. If people believe that porcupines can shoot their quills, they may be less likely to get too close and potentially harm the porcupine or themselves. 🦔🌳🌲🌴
