Judy Davis plays the two roles of a mother, Georgia, and her daughter Nina. The film is presented as a series of flashbacks as Nina investigates her mother's death, which led to her adoption as a young child.
The film was inspired by Albert Tucker's 1984 painting of Joy Hester. Producer Bob Weis originally wanted to make a film based on Hester's life but decided to make a fictional film.
Box office
Georgia grossed $44,205 at the box office in Australia.
The 112 Georgia Emergency and Operative Response Center was created in 2012 by the GeorgiaMinistry of Internal Affairs, as a "Legal Entity of Public Law". The service was created for establishing an effective emergency communication system. It is a 24-hour emergency response center that receives calls from all over Georgia via the unified emergency number: 1-1-2.
Before this there existed 3 independent emergency numbers in Georgia for Fire/Rescue, Police patrol, and Medical emergencies.
The emergency response center has centralized, unified electronic communications, monitoring of emergency services, and harmonized emergency number usage within Europe.
Aim and functions
The key aim of "112" is to provide advanced and maximally available assistance to the citizens during emergency situations. It unites three emergency response centers in Georgia: Fire / Rescue, Patrol Police, Medical Emergency, and road safety management all over Tbilisi. The service is also intended to raise public awareness about how to behave in emergency situations, and to establish appropriate educational programs regarding the emergency issues in coordination with the proper bodies.
A smoking pipe is a device made to allow the user to inhale or taste smoke or vapor derived from the burning or vaporization of some substance. The most common form of these is the tobacco pipe, which is designed for use with tobacco, although the device itself may be used with many other substances. The pipes are manufactured with a variety of materials, the most common (as the popularity of its use): Briar, Heather, corn, meerschaum, clay, cherry, glass, porcelain, ebonite, acrylic and other more unusual materials. Other kinds of smoking pipes include:
The concept of pipelines was invented by Douglas McIlroy at Unix's ancestral home of Bell Labs, prior to the actual invention of the operating system, and implemented in Unix at his insistence, shaping its toolbox philosophy. It is named by analogy to a physical pipeline. The standard shell syntax for pipelines is to list multiple programs to invoke in one command, separated by vertical bars:
Each program is assumed to take input and give output on its standard streams. Each "|" tells the shell to connect the standard output of the left program to the standard input of the right program by an inter-process communication mechanism called an (anonymous) pipe, implemented in the operating system. Since pipes are unidirectional, data flows through the pipeline from left to right.
An organ pipe is a sound-producing element of the pipe organ that resonates at a specific pitch when pressurized air (commonly referred to as wind) is driven through it. Each pipe is tuned to a specific note of the musical scale. A set of organ pipes of similar timbre tuned to a scale is known as a rank or a stop.
Metal pipes are usually made of lead; for increased rigidity it is alloyed with tin along with trace amounts of antimony and copper. The percentage of each metal in the alloy influences the characteristics of the resulting pipe. A high proportion of tin results in a slightly brighter colouring. In addition, high amounts of tin give a gleaming and long-lasting polish, which may be desired if the pipe is clearly visible. The cost of each metal is also a factor, as tin is more expensive than lead. Cost considerations may also lead to the use of the inferior rolled zinc especially for the lower tones that take a lot of material. In addition, pipes have been made of many metals, including copper, aluminium, goldelectroplate, silver, brass, and iron.
Moniuszko was born in Ubiel, Minsk Governorate (in present-day Belarus) in 1819 to a szlachta nobility of landowners from the eastern fringe of the Vilna Governorate of the already partitioned Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth, its eastern subject, Grand Duchy of Lithuania. His mother (maiden-name Madziarska) had Polish-Hungarian-Armenian roots. Moniuszko displayed an early ability in music, and began private piano lessons with August Freyer in 1827. In 1837, once his talent and interest justified it, Moniuszko began to formally study composition in Berlin with Carl Friedrich Rungenhagen, the director of the "Singakademie" Music Society, who also instructed him in choral conducting. At the same time Moniuszko studied major works of the classical repertoire as well as the process involved in staging music. While in Berlin, he had an unexpected early success when he set three songs to the words of the Polish national poet, Adam Mickiewicz. Several of his songs composed during this period were published by Bote & Bock and were favorably received by the music critics.

A U.S. Coast Guard Cutter fired approximately 30 warning shots at Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy (IRGCN) boats fast approaching a U.S. naval formation in the Strait of Hormuz on Monday.
Pentagon spokesperson John Kirby said a group of 13 Iranian fast-attack boats "conducted unsafe and unprofessional maneuvers."
He added that the warning shots were fired after the Iranian fast boats came as close as 150 yards (450 feet) of six U.S. military vessels, including the USS Monterey, that was escorting the guided-missile submarine USS Georgia.
