In optics, a diaphragm is a thin opaque structure with an opening (aperture) at its center. The role of the diaphragm is to stop the passage of light, except for the light passing through the aperture. Thus it is also called a stop (an aperture stop, if it limits the brightness of light reaching the focal plane, or a field stop or flare stop for other uses of diaphragms in lenses). The diaphragm is placed in the light path of a lens or objective, and the size of the aperture regulates the amount of light that passes through the lens. The centre of the diaphragm's aperture coincides with the optical axis of the lens system.
Most modern cameras use a type of adjustable diaphragm known as an iris diaphragm, and often referred to simply as an iris.
See the articles on aperture and f-number for the photographic effect and system of quantification of varying the opening in the diaphragm.
Iris diaphragms versus other types
A natural optical system that has a diaphragm and an aperture is the human eye. The iris is the diaphragm, and the opening in the iris of the eye (the pupil) is the aperture. An analogous dev in a photographic lens is called an iris diaphragm.
Iris is a 1987 Netherlands film directed by Mady Saks and starring Monique van de Ven.
Plot
A young woman, Iris, runs away to the big city on her eighteenth birthday. She moves in with an architect and decides to become a veterinarian. With an inheritance she buys an existing clinic in a backwoods town where Iris is leered at by the men, scorned by the women. Cruel jokes and gossip eventually lead to violence.A local thug breaks in her house while she is out. When she returns home late night, he attacks her, drag her to the wooden stairs, ties her hands, stretch her legs wide apart and ties to the railing of stairs and rapes her brutally.
Say(生-say-,Life/Say) is the solo second album by J-pop singer Misono, released on July 16, 2008. The album can be found on two different formats, CD-Only and CD+DVD. The album held the following single releases before its initial release: "Hot Time / A.(Answer)", "Pochi", "Zasetsu Chiten", "Jūnin Toiro", "Mugen Kigen", and "Ninin Sankyaku". The title of the album is a pun: Sei(生,Life) is a homonym for the English word Say.
The album contains all of Misono's singles since "Pochi" up until "Ninin Sankyaku", and all of those singles' A-side and B-side tracks (save for "Ninin Sankyaku"'s medley) and the DVD contains alternate versions of the music videos released for the singles. For example, the "Box ver." of "Zasetsu Chiten" takes place solely in the box setting of the original video.
Say made it to number 13 on the Oricon Daily Album Charts but went to number 20 on the Oricon Weekly Album Charts.

Thomas Say (June 27, 1787—October 10, 1834) was an American entomologist and conchologist. His definitive studies of insects and shells, numerous contributions to scientific journals, and scientific expeditions to Florida, Georgia, the Rocky Mountains, Mexico, and elsewhere made him an internationally-known naturalist. Say has been called the father of American descriptive entomology and American conchology. He served as librarian for the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia, curator at the American Philosophical Society, and professor of natural history at the University of Pennsylvania.
Early life and education
Born in Philadelphia into a prominent Quaker family, Thomas Say was the great-grandson of John Bartram, and the great-nephew of William Bartram. His father, Dr. Benjamin Say, was brother-in-law to another Bartram son, Moses Bartram. The Say family had a house, "The Cliffs" at Gray's Ferry, adjoining the Bartram family farms in Kingessing township, Philadelphia County. As a boy, Say often visited the family garden, Bartram's Garden, where he frequently took butterfly and beetle specimens to his great-uncle William.
In August 2009 around a dozen people in Sayo are dead or missing as a result of flash floods, according to NHK. According to the Japan Times, 390 homes were flooded.
Mathis spent four years recording for Mercury Records (1963-67) producing ten studio albums. Under the terms of his contract with the label, he owned the masters of his recordings. He returned to Columbia Records in 1968 and licensed twenty Mercury album tracks to Columbia for release, ten of which appeared on this record. The remaining ten Mercury tracks appeared on his next album for Columbia, The Impossible Dream. The track listing below includes the title of the original album on which each song appeared.

The diaphragm controls how much light is let through the lens. Stained slides usually require high light. Unstained slides often require lower light settings or even polarized or filtered light.

8MID50 Motorized Iris Diaphragm Mount was developed due to interest in our previously presented motorized iris 8MID98-4. Motorized Iris Diaphragm Mount is designed for our smallest diaphragm family, more information about fitted iris diaphragms can be found on this page. Unfortunately it is impossible to interchange iris diaphragms at home since every diaphramg has its own adapter ring and requires calibration.
