What’s next for Pashtuns in "the world’s most dangerous place”?
Today, FATA is the most underdeveloped, poverty stricken, and unstable area of Pakistan. Until this year, the tribal Pashtuns did not have any political influence, access to media outlets or self-determination since they were under the British-era laws. That changed when they were integrated into Pakistan in May 2018, but plenty of work still remains to be done in “the world’s most dangerous place.”

Individual Reviews - Shehroze Ameen - The Pathans
Shehroze Ameen provides his perspective on The Pathans by Sir Olaf Caroe.
Definitely recommended giving a look at the book "The Great Game" by Peter Hopkirk, "Soldier Sahibs" by Charles Allen.
Regarding renaming the area to KP, there was interesting disagreements regarding its renaming. From grey literature, the issue is seen as being a fascinating aspect.

And yet, Caroe would be seen as a significant influence if his work was given weight. Fiction writers such as Fredrick Forsythe had come across his work and even used it as a basis for the area analysis when writing "The Afghan" and "The Kill List". Both of those works are strongly recommended.
For someone who wishes to read up fiction based on The KP area, we have "t...

Individual Reviews - Shehroze Ameen - The Pathans
Shehroze Ameen provides his perspective on The Pathans by Sir Olaf Caroe.
Definitely recommended giving a look at the book "The Great Game" by Peter Hopkirk, "...

For someone who wishes to read up fiction based on The KP area, we have "the Far Pavilion" by MM Kaye, "Kim" by Rudyard Kipling, although avoid Khaled Hosseini because his works do not provide a nuanced representation of the actual situation in the area.

Lyrics:
Far away from jerusalem,
between afghanistan and pakistan,
here live the lost tribes of israel,
here live the pashtun people;
you'll find there the rabani,
you'll find there the yousufzai,
and the brave levy-malakand,
keeper of the borders;
a strong people that noone overcome,
a strong people that don't fear anyone,
live freely in his mountains,
with his women and his children;
a thousand and half years ago,
they all converted to islam,
but they kept very old traditions,
and called themselves bani-israil;
they number in tens of millions,
our brothers in every way,
it seems to me like a dream,
but i know its just reality;
