The Proto-Norse language developed into Old Norse by the 8th century, and Old Norse began to develop into the modern North Germanic languages in the mid- to late 14th century, ending the language phase known as Old Norse. These dates, however, are not absolute, since written Old Norse is found well into the 15th century.
Old Norse was divided into three dialects: Old East Norse, Old West Norse, and Old Gutnish. Old West and East Norse formed a dialect continuum, with no clear geographical boundary between them. For example, Old East Norse traits were found in eastern Norway, although Old Norwegian is classified as Old West Norse, and Old West Norse traits were found in western Sweden. Most speakers spoke Old East Norse in what is present day Denmark and Sweden. Old Gutnish, the more obscure dialectal branch, is sometimes included in the Old East Norse dialect due to geographical associations. It developed its own unique features and shared in changes to both other branches.
In this video, you'll learn how to introduce yourself in Old Norse, the language of the Vikings. Even though this language is very old, it has some surprising similarities to modern English. This is even more obvious when you hear Old Norse spoken.
Here you can see that the phrase Ek kem fra is almost exactly the same as the English "I come from". There are a lot of these similarities throughout Old Norse. It also shares quite a few familiar features with German. The Norse "thu" is similar to the German "du".
This makes learning Old Norse relatively easy, especially if you know any European language. German, French, English, and Spanish can all help you learn the language of the ancient Vikings!

The secret to eternal youth - according to norse mythology
I have been spending a lott of time with iduna.
I have been doing so because i seek to understand her more.
Since it is her apples that keep the gods young a healthy, could a understanding of idun lead us the fountain of youth?
Well, all my time spend with her has been fruitfull & i am here to share what i have found.
I will discuss the symbolism of iduna & her apples .
And at the end of this video i hope you have a better understanding of the goddes of health & youth.
I also float a theory that everything is an apple, or better said apples within apples.
Or apples & oranges…. Something…
