1. Edo Traditional Dressing Edo culture is popular in the Southern part of Nigeria. It has an interesting history and strong respect for the traditions that are passed from generation to generation. Coral bead accessories are a true passion for Edo women and men. The use of beads is commonplace in Benin because it symbolizes royalty and freedom.
Edo people love to dress up in traditional gowns and suits accompanied by two main types of coral beads: Ivie is mostly worn by Edo Chiefs and Ekan reminds of gray stone.
2. The Urhobos are people located in southern Nigeria, near the northwestern Niger Delta. The Urhobo are the major ethnic group in Delta State, one of the 36 state in Nigeria, The Urhobo and Isoko people migrated from Edo stateaccording to history
Urhobos wear Georgian wrappers and lace shirts, accessorised with cowboy hats, walking sticks, and beads on the hands and neck.
3. Yourba Traditional Attire
The Yoruba tribe are known for their exquisite Attire. Clothing material appearance serves as an indication of status and wealth. In special events such as weddings, and festivals they dress in beautifully designed attire. Examples of Yoruba attire are:
Gele - this is a traditional cloth which women wrap around their heads. There are many variations on how to wrap it.
4. Igbo Traditional Attire
Years ago Igbo attire symbolise modesty, they were not wore for style or to display status. Today most Igbo people, especially in urban areas, wear western styled clothing.
5. Hausa-Fulani Traditional Attire
The Hausa/Kanuri/Fulani people dominate and occupy Northern Nigeria. They are being grouped together because of the similarities in their culture, dressing and language. They are the most populated people in Nigeria and they make up the major tribe. Sometimes, you can hardly differentiate these people.
6. Efik/Ibibio/Annang/Oron/Eket Traditional Dressing: The Efik/Ibibio people dominate Akwa-Ibom and Cross-River States in South-Southern Nigeria. These people have a rich culture and elegance.
7. Ijaw Traditional Dressing: These people live in Bayelsa, Rivers, Delta, Akwa-Ibom and Ondo States. They make up for the 4th largest ethnic group in Nigeria. They live close to the river and so, all their myths and legends are water based.These people are reclusive and quiet.
8. Itsekiri Traditional Dressing
They occupy Delta South. They are aboriginals of Warri North, Warri South and Warri South West local government areas with a large number of people in Sapele local government area.
9. Tiv Traditional Dressing
These people dominate Benue State in North Central Nigeria. They are quite reclusive and quiet like most tribes in Northern Nigeria. The traditional clothing of this people is one of the most interesting parts of their culture. Tiv people native dressing is a fabric wrapped around the waist and reaching the knees. Men wear form of turban. Tiv often prefer black and white traditional clothes. Their native dressing is known as A'nger. They have a rich and wholesome culture and belief system which is headed by the Tor Tiv.
10. Nupe Traditional Dressing Nupe tribe is one of the most recognized tribe in Nigeria due to their rich culture, discipline, respect for elders, transparency, dedication, trustworthiness, hospitality, accommodation and friendliness.

Mmanwu is a traditional masquerade of the Igbo people of Southeastern Nigeria. They are performed only by males in exclusive secret societies and involve the use of elaborate, colorful costumes that are meant to invoke ancestral spirits. Masquerade traditions have a varied range of purposes that span from performing elements of epic drama derived from community cosmology and lore, ushering in new months and seasons, honoring totems and ancestral spirits, enactments of parables or myths, with entertainment and community building serving as a consistent commonality. In the past masquerades also bore judicial, social regulatory, and even policing powers, however though these functions have decreased in modern times.
