The Newcastle & Carlisle Railway (N&CR) was an English railway company formed in 1825 that built a line from Newcastle upon Tyne on Britain's east coast, to Carlisle, on the west coast. The railway began operating freight trains in 1834 between Blaydon and Hexham, and passengers were carried for the first time the following year. The rest of the line opened in stages: from Hexham to Haydon Bridge and isolated section in the west from Carlisle to Greenhead opened in 1836, the eastern section was extended to Redheugh on the south bank of the Tyne in 1837, and the central section of line opened allowing trains to operate between Redheugh and Carlisle in 1838. A bridge at Scotswood allowed a temporary station to open in Newcastle, north of the Tyne, in 1839, although Newcastle Central did not open until 1851. A branch line from Haltwhistle to Alston opened in 1852.
A short branch to Brampton was worked by a horse hauling a carriage. In 1837, Thomas Edmondson, a N&CR station master at Milton (now Brampton (Cumbria)) printed numbered card tickets were dated by a press. The N&CR ran excursion trains from 1840.

Sinces the ECML HST had been diverted via Carlisle I decided to jump on one of them for a ride I was on the train all the was to London King's Cross, but I decided to only film as far as Newcastle we got back into London by 19:07 which was not a bad journey. This service was 13:17 Edinburgh to London King's Cross which was 14:44 service from Carlisle with 43239 & 43314 powering the train thoughtout the journey we also passed 67015 dragging a 91 set to Carlisle but it was amazing to film the journey from Cumbria to Northumberland I need to do more journey like this one in the years to come check out the filming I did on this day at Carlisle.

Carlisle to Newcastle
This 9 minute Video is from a map of Britain covered by the era of The Race to The North by the Railways of the time.
The particular area chosen is my rail link between Carlisle and Newcastle-on-the-Tyne. The year is 1887. The locomotive is a LNWR 2-4-0, Samson class.
For those not familiar with Transport Fever 2, the distances between towns are not to scale by a long way. The game maps in general are from actual height maps of the real world, Everything else is created by the uploader and further added to by the Player.
My additions are, in this case, based around placing Railway Infrastructure, plus Road Transport networks.
It's a very creative game and I highly recommend it to keep the brain active.
The Editing program I have used is Pinnacle Studio 21.
Enjoy.
