In March 2017 the National Galleries of Scotland was able to secure Edwin Landseer’s iconic painting ‘The Monarch of the Glen’ (1851) for the nation. After initially hanging in the Scottish National Gallery in Edinburgh, the painting embarked on a nationwide tour of Scotland.
