Turkish (Türkçe), also referred to as Istanbul Turkish, is the most widely spoken of the Turkic languages, with around 10–15 million native speakers in Southeast Europe (mostly in East Thrace) and 60-65 million native speakers in Western Asia (mostly in Anatolia). Outside of Turkey, smaller groups of speakers exist in Germany, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Northern Cyprus (although a partially recognized state), Greece, the Caucasus, and other parts of Europe and Central Asia.
To the west, the influence of Ottoman Turkish—the variety of the Turkish language that was used as the administrative and literary language of the Ottoman Empire—spread as the Ottoman Empire expanded. In 1928, as one of Atatürk's Reforms in the early years of the Republic of Turkey, the Ottoman Turkish alphabet was replaced with a Latin script.
Turkish Airlines Flight 1951 (also known as the Poldercrash) was a passenger flight that crashed during landing at the Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, Netherlands, on 25 February 2009, resulting in the death of nine passengers and crew including all three pilots.
The aircraft, a Turkish AirlinesBoeing 737-800, crashed into a field approximately 1.5 kilometres (0.93mi) north of the Polderbaan runway, (18R), prior to crossing the A9 motorway inbound, at 9:31 UTC (10:31 CET), having flown from Istanbul, Turkey. The aircraft broke into three pieces on impact. The wreckage did not catch fire.
The crash was caused primarily by the aircraft's automated reaction which was triggered by a faulty radio altimeter. This caused the autothrottle to decrease the engine power to idle during approach. The crew noticed this too late to take appropriate action to increase the thrust and recover the aircraft before it stalled and crashed. Boeing has since issued a bulletin to remind pilots of all 737 series and BBJ aircraft of the importance of monitoring airspeed and altitude, advising against the use of autopilot or autothrottle while landing in cases of radio altimeter discrepancies.
Moderns, a faction of Freemasonry that existed in the 18th century
Modernity, a loosely defined concept delineating a number of societal, economic and ideological features that contrast with "pre-modern" times or societies
Modern, a generic font family name for fixed-pitch serif and sans serif fonts (for example, Courier and Pica), used e.g. in OpenDocument format or Rich Text Format
The party received 7.6% of votes in the 2015 Polish parliamentary election, which resulted in winning 28 seats in Sejm. Paweł Kobyliński, elected to the Sejm from Kukiz'15's electoral list moved to Modern's parliamentary group in December 2015, thus the party now has 29 seats.
Formation
The movement was founded in late May 2015 as NowoczesnaPL (ModernPL) by economist Ryszard Petru.
Due to some controversy over its name – there had already been a non-governmental organization called Fundacja Nowoczesna Polska (Modern Poland Foundation) – in August 2015, the movement's name was changed to .Modern (.Nowoczesna).
Around the same time, the party's new logo was presented, and Kamila Gasiuk-Pihowicz became its spokesperson.
Metro is a typography- and geometry-focused design language created by Microsoft primarily for user interfaces. A key design principle is better focus on the content of applications, relying more on typography and less on graphics ("content before chrome"). Early examples of Metro principles can be found in Encarta 95 and MSN2.0. The design language evolved in Windows Media Center and Zune and was formally introduced as "Metro" during the unveiling of Windows Phone 7. It has since been incorporated into several of the company's other products, including the Xbox 360 system software, Xbox One, Windows 8, Windows Phone, and Outlook.com under the names Microsoft design language and Modern UI after Microsoft discontinued the name "Metro" allegedly because of trademark issues.
History
The design language is based on the design principles of classic Swiss graphic design. Early glimpses of this style could be seen in Windows Media Center for Windows XP Media Center Edition, which favored text as the primary form of navigation. This interface carried over into later iterations of Media Center. In 2006, Zune refreshed its interface using these principles. Microsoft designers decided to redesign the interface and with more focus on clean typography and less on UI chrome. These principles and the new Zune UI were carried over to Windows Phone (from which much was drawn for Windows 8). The Zune Desktop Client was also redesigned with an emphasis on typography and clean design that was different from the Zune's previous Portable Media Center based UI. Flat colored "live tiles" were introduced into the design language during the early Windows Phone's studies.

Why Ottomans couldn't spread Turkish language?
The Ottoman Empire, spanning over six centuries and reaching across three continents, commanded an immense territory rich in diversity in religion, culture, ethnicity, and language. Despite Turkish being the ruling class's language, the Ottoman Turkish language didn’t become the dominant or sole language across its vast territory. This video examines why the Ottomans didn’t succeed in spreading Turkish as a unifying language and the opportunities and limitations they encountered.

TÜRKÇE! The Turkish Language is Fascinating

If you want to learn Turkish and understand the Turkish language and its logic, you definitely need to watch this video till the end.
A lot of people around the world have been wanting to learn Turkish because of Turkish TV series.
In this video I am explaining the key elements of the structure of Turkish, how it is used and what the main similarities and differences between Turkish and English (and other European languages) are. If you are a beginner and want to start learning Turkish and don't know where to start, I'll show how to learn Turkish fast by firstly understanding the language culture and structure. Since Turkish is an agglutinative language, people struggle thinking in Turkish and therefore might learn the grammar because it is rather easy but the usage in everyday conversation can be quite different.
You can watch this video with both English and Turkish subtitles!

Mayday - Mid-Air Landing - Turkish Airlines 1951
Arriving from Istanbul, Turkish Airlines Flight #1951 is on its final approach to Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport. The crew is following instructions from the control tower that will line up their Boeing 737 with the runway. In the final seconds of the flight, however, the plane suddenly falls from the sky and crashes into a muddy field just north of the airport. Of the 135 people on board, nine die at the scene, and investigators begin pouring through the wreckage to determine what brought down one of the world’s most popular passenger jets. Can they figure out what went wrong in time to prevent another similar catastrophe?

A Boeing 737-800 operated by Turkish Airlines was on its scheduled passenger flight to Amsterdam, Netherlands.
08:23: Flight 1951 started its takeoff roll from Istanbul Atatürk Airport, Turkey.
When the aircraft was climbing through 400ft, the left radio altimeter system provided erroneous readings.
The remaining part of the flight was uneventful.
10:04
The plane entered Dutch airs the east while descending. The Area controller informed the crew to expect ILS runway 18R for landing.
The captain contacted Schiphol Approach and informed them they were descending to FL70 at a speed of 250 knots. ATC instructed the crew to descend FL40 for an ILS approach to RWY 18R.
There was an audio warning regarding the landing gear
Captain :radio altimeter
10:17:the aircraft warned the crew again about the radio altimeter.
Captain:landing gear
During the warnings, a radio altimeter was showing the height of -8 feet on the primary flight display of the captain.
Until now, the right AP and the AT had been activated. The crew tried to engage the second AP for a dual-channel approach. Because of this, the right AP disconnected and the left AP did not engage. Then again the right AP was engaged.
A speed of 160 knots was selected with the flaps to 15. The speed was higher than normal at that moment but it was decreasing.
The aircraft was above the glide path. So they need to intercept the glideslope from above. The ICAO rules do not allow to do so but according to Dutch rules, it can be done if the controller agrees.
The aircraft intercepted the localizer signal and started to follow the signal automatically.
The crew selected the ‘vertical speed’ mode and set the descent rate of 1,400 feet per minute to intercept the glide path from above. Then the flight mode annunciation of the AT changed to ‘RETARD’ on both primary flight displays. The thrust levers went to the idle position. Normally when the aircraft descends below 27 feet, the autothrottle enters retard flare mode. But in this flight, the indicated altitude was below 27 feet, that's why the retard flare mode activated instantly after the pilots switched the AP to V/S mode.
The captain contacted Schiphol Tower, at that time the safety pilot remarked that they had a radio altimeter failure which was confirmed by the captain.
The aircraft intercepted the glide path at a height of 1300 feet. The flight director pitch bar of the primary flight display of the captain disappeared. The speed decreased to 158 knots and then increased to 169 knots and started to decrease again.
Then the crew got clearance to land on runway 18R, which was confirmed by the captain.
When the plane was descending through 800 ft the speed of 144 knots was selected by the crew.
The captain listed the items of the landing checklist that the first officer had to answer to show that they had been executed properly. At the same time, the horizontal tailplane of the aircraft was trimmed by the autopilot. The safety pilot reported that the cabin was ready for landing.
The aircraft was flying just below 500 feet with a speed of 110 knots. The throttle levers were at the idle position and the angle of attack was increasing.
The stick shaker was activated. Then the safety pilot warned about the low speed. Immediately the thrust levers were moved forward by slightly more than halfway then again it was pulled back immediately because the AT was still active.
The speed was 107 knots and the position of the nose was more than eleven degrees above the horizon.
The crew deactivated the AT, the autopilot was disconnected and the control column was pushed forward. The stick shaker stopped and was again activated. The pitch attitude decreased to eight degrees below the horizon.
The thrust levers were pushed fully forward.
Various ground proximity warning system warnings were also generated. A ‘sink rate’ warning was generated at the warning to pull up.
The aircraft crashed at a distance of 1.5 kilometers from the threshold of runway 18R.
It resulted in the deaths of nine passengers and crew, including all three pilots.

** Apparently one of the maps I used (0:37-0:47) is a map of something called "Greater Albania", and some of you are upset about it. I didn`t know what Greater Albania was (I had never heard of it), and it`s not written on the map. I mistakenly thought it was a simple hand-drawn map of the Balkans. I`m sorry about that mistake. There was no political intention behind using that map.**
This video is about the Turkish language, which is spoken in Turkey - as well as the closely related Oghuz Turkic languages which are sometimes considered dialects of Turkish.

The events surrounding the crash of Turkish Airlines flight TK1951 at Amsterdam Schiphol which were broadcast on itv news on February 25th 2009!!

Who's in control?
