A metropolis is a see or city whose bishop is the metropolitan of a province. Metropolises, historically, have been important cities in their provinces.
Before the establishment of patriarchs (beginning in AD 325), metropolitan was the highest episcopal rank in the Eastern rites of the Church. They presided over synods of bishops, and were granted special privileges by canon law and sacred tradition.
The Early Church structure generally followed the Roman imperial practice, with one bishop ruling each city and its territory. The bishop of the provincial capital, the metropolitan, enjoyed certain rights over other bishops in the province, later called suffragans.

Metropolitan - We see you. We’re for you. (FULL TV COMMERCIAL)
African success is unique in that success doesn’t end with the individual. The individual who finds success will take their success and use it to uplift those around them. Because in Africa, success is only real when shared. These are the stories we want to tell, the successes we want to share. We see you, and we’re for you.

Metropolitan and District 1989 Driver's eye view
Video125.com is the home of the original Driver's eye views. Established 1984. In 1989, the Hammersmith and City line was still known as part of the Metropolitan line. This is a Driver's eye view from Hammersmith to Whitechapel (where the H&C trains used to terminate) on board an unpainted aluminium C stock train and a District D stock service from there to Ealing Broadway. A lot has changed; witnessed by our recent re-shoot on board S stock trains.

Metropolitan Line (Amersham to Aldgate) - DRIVERS EYE VIEW [Part 1 of 4]
Shown in four parts is London Underground's Metropolitan line. Part 1 shows us the route from Amersham to Aldgate filmed in late 2022. We join an early morning commuter train which runs fast from Moor Park to Harrow and then again to Finchley Road and Baker Street, this gives the Metropolitan a main line title.
Once at Finchley Road we head underground and remain so all the way to Aldgate. After Baker Street, the traditional home of the Metropolitan Railway, we join the Circle and Hammersmith & City lines all the way to both Aldgate and Liverpool Street respectively.
Our train travereses the worlds first underground railway having opened back on the 10th January 1863. As always sit back and relax and enjoy the journey. Make sure you like comment and subscribe to this channel to stay tune...

**Please be advised that the drivers eye views in certain places were filmed on seperate days due to poor weather conditions and the early mornings where it was too dark to film. Audio has been prerecorded from within the passenger saloon to try and match the movements of the train. Audio announces give a wide variety of destinations. Also I've been sneaky and used audio from a Chiltern Turbo 165 on the stretch from Rickmansworth to Moor Park. I hope it doesn't affect the viewing too much.**
