Broadway is a station on the Red Linesubway at the intersection of Dorchester Avenue and Broadway in South Boston, Massachusetts. It was opened on December15, 1917 as part of the Dorchester Extension of the "Cambridge Connection" from Downtown Crossing (formerly Washington station) to Andrew. The station has a single island platform to serve the two tracks. Broadway was planned to be a stop on the Urban Ring Project, which is currently shelved due to lack of funding.

History
After the Cambridge Tunnel was completed between Harvard and Park Street in 1912, work began to extend the line south to Dorchester. Rather than being opened all at once, the second section was opened station-by-station as soon as possible due to popularity. Extensions opened to Washington (Downtown Crossing) in 1915, South Station Under in 1916, and to Broadway on December 15, 1917. Broadway was the southern terminus of the line until Andrew opened on June 29, 1918. With the exception of Park Street - which was built with three platforms to handle crowds - Broadway was the only station on the original Cambridge-Dorchester Tunnel with an island platform (rather than two side platforms) in order to facilitate transfers through its three levels. Not until Columbia and Savin Hill opened in 1927 were there other island platforms used on the line.
This was Universal's first talking picture with Technicolor sequences. The film was released by the Criterion Collection on Blu-ray and DVD with Paul Fejo's Lonesome on August 2012.
Plot
Roy Lane and Billie Moore, entertainers at the Paradise Nightclub, are in love and are rehearsing an act together. Late to work one evening, Billie is saved from dismissal by Nick Verdis, the club proprietor, through the intervention of Steve Crandall, a bootlegger, who desires a liaison with the girl. "Scar" Edwards, robbed of a truckload of contraband liquor by Steve's gang, arrives at the club for a showdown with Steve and is shot in the back. Steve gives Billie a bracelet to forget that she has seen him helping a "drunk" from the club. Though Roy is arrested by Dan McCorn, he is later released on Billie's testimony. Nick is murdered by Steve. Billie witnesses the killing, but keeps quiet about the dirty business until she finds out Steve's next target is Roy. Billie is determined to tell her story to the police before Roy winds up dead, but Steve isn't about to let that happen and kidnaps her. Steve, in his car, is fired at from a taxi, and overheard by Pearl, he confesses to killing Edwards. Pearl confronts Steve in Nick's office and kills him; and McCorn, finding Steve's body, insists that he committed suicide, exonerating Pearl and leaving Roy and Billie to the success of their act.
"Broadway" is a song by Sébastien Tellier from his 2004 album Politics. It was released as a single on February 6, 2006. As well as the original version, the single included a number of remixes and another song by Tellier, Le Long De La Riviere Tendre. The song's lyrics mention 'Private Rico'; this refers to the character Juan Rico from Robert A. Heinlein's book Starship Troopers.
There's a party at Delray's, an underground black Rock and Roll bar in 1950s Memphis ("Underground"). Huey Calhoun, a white man, arrives on the scene. The regulars begin to leave, but Huey convinces them to stay, claiming he is there for the music ("The Music of My Soul"). Later, Huey is about to be fired from his job as a stock boy at a local department store, but he makes a deal with the owner, if he can sell 5 records by playing them over the speakers, he can have a sales job. Huey plays a rock & roll hit ("Scratch My Itch"). He sells 29 records in five minutes, but the store owner fires him anyway, incensed at the type of music being played.
Legal clerk Ray Ellison, living in Memphis, goes to see Dr. Tate and is informed that he has a lethal brain tumor. The doctor knows a specialist but warns that the treatment is expensive. Ray admits he has no money, no family and no friends. Depressed at the fact he is not leaving anything behind, Ray leaves and while walking across the street, is hit by a car. He wakes up to find himself surrounded by African-Americans wearing antiquated clothing. A nurse, Adelaide Tyler, checks his condition and reveals that somehow Ray has been transported to Memphis in 1968.
Adelaide and her son Lucas take Ray home to let him recover. Ray intrigues Lucas, who has a large birthmark on the left side of his face. Adelaide talks to Ray and warns that only a colored hospital will see him, and all he needs is rest. Ray wonders if he is hallucinating and notices that his wallet is missing. That night, they have supper but during a private moment with Lucas, the boy tells Ray that Adelaide is worried because they received a foreclosure notice on their home. Ray finds the letter from the company and later takes it to Adelaide. She is angry that he has been looking into her affairs but he says that he can help her.
DIRECT was advocated by a group of space enthusiasts who asserted that they represented a broader team of dozens of NASA and space industry engineers who actively worked on the proposal on an anonymous, voluntary basis in their spare time. September 2008, the DIRECT Team was said to consist of 69 members, 62 of whom were NASA engineers, NASA-contractor engineers, and managers from the Constellation Program. A small number of non-NASA members of the team publicly represented the group.
The project name "DIRECT" referred to a philosophy of maximizing the re-use of hardware and facilities already in place for the Space Shuttle program (STS), hence a "direct" transition. The DIRECT Team asserted that using this approach to develop and operate a family of high-commonality rockets would reduce costs and the gap between retirement of the Space Shuttle and the first launch of Orion, shorten schedules, and simplify technical requirements for future US human space efforts.
