A central business district (CBD) is the commercial and business centre of a city. In larger cities, it is often synonymous with the city's "financial district". Geographically, it often coincides with the "city centre" or "downtown", but the two concepts are separate: many cities have a central business district located away from its commercial or cultural city centre or downtown. Both the CBD and the city centre or downtown may also coincide with the central activities district.
A city's CBD is usually typified by a concentration of retail and office buildings. The CBD usually has an urban density higher than the surrounding districts of the city, and is often the location of the tallest buildings in the city.
The CBD is often also the "city centre" or "downtown", but this is also often not the case. Midtown Manhattan is the largest central business district in New York City and in the Western Hemisphere; yet Lower Manhattan, commonly referred to as Downtown Manhattan, actually represents the second largest distinct CBD in New York City and is geographically situated south of Midtown. For example, London's "city centre" is usually regarded as encompassing the historic City of London and the medieval City of Westminster, whereas the City of London and the transformed Docklands area are regarded as its two CBDs. Mexico City also has a historic city centre, the colonial-era Centro Histórico, along with two CBDs: the mid-late 20th century Paseo de la Reforma - Polanco, and the new Santa Fe. In Taipei, Taiwan, the area around its main railway station is regarded as the historic city centre while the Xinyi Planned Area located to the east of the said railway station is the current CBD of Taipei, being both the financial district and the premier shopping area, and the location of Taipei 101, Taipei's tallest building.
Harrisburg's downtown Center City comprises the original 80-acre (320,000m2) borough laid out in a grid pattern by John Harris in 1785. East-west streets are named and north-south streets are numbered. Market Street, running east-west, is the dividing point between north and south street designations. Sightseeing is probably best done on foot downtown and by car elsewhere.
Harrisburg's Central Business District includes the Pennsylvania State Capitol Complex and other state government offices, the Dauphin County Courthouse and other county government offices, City of Harrisburg offices, and other, non-government related commercial retail and office development. Some residential development, both in apartment high-rises and in the upper floors of mixed commercial/residential use buildings, is also located in the downtown area.
Melbourne (/ˈmɛlbərn/, AUi/ˈmɛlbən/) is the capital and most populous city in the Australian state of Victoria, and the second most populous city in Australia and Oceania. The name "Melbourne" refers to the area of urban agglomeration (as well as a census statistical division) spanning 9,900km2 (3,800sqmi) which comprises the broader metropolitan area, as well as being the common name for its city centre. The metropolis is located on the large natural bay of Port Phillip and expands into the hinterlands towards the Dandenong and Macedon mountain ranges, Mornington Peninsula and Yarra Valley. Melbourne consists of 31 municipalities. It has a population of 4,347,955 as of 2013, and its inhabitants are called Melburnians.
Founded by free settlers from the BritishCrown colony of Van Diemen's Land on 30 August 1835, in what was then the colony of New South Wales, it was incorporated as a Crown settlement in 1837. It was named "Melbourne" by the Governor of New South Wales, Sir Richard Bourke, in honour of the British Prime Minister of the day, William Lamb, 2nd Viscount Melbourne. It was officially declared a city by Queen Victoria in 1847, after which it became the capital of the newly founded colony of Victoria in 1851. During the Victorian gold rush of the 1850s, it was transformed into one of the world's largest and wealthiest cities. After the federation of Australia in 1901, it served as the nation's interim seat of government until 1927.
The domain name was originally allocated by Jon Postel, operator of IANA to Kevin Robert Elz of Melbourne University in 1986. After an approximately five-year process in the 1990s, the Internet industry created a self-regulatory body called .au Domain Administration to operate the domain. It obtained assent from ICANN in 2001, and commenced operating a new competitive regime for domain registration on 1 July 2002. Since this new regime, any registration has to be ordered via a registrar.
Operation
Oversight of .au is by .au Domain Administration (auDA). It is a not-for-profit organisation whose membership is derived from Internet organisations, industry members and interested individuals. The organisation operates under the consent of the Australian government which has legislative power to decide the operators of electronic addressing in the country.
Policy for .au is devised by policy development panels. These panels are convened by auDA and combine public input with industry representation to derive policy.

Melbourne is the coastal capital of the southeastern Australian state of Victoria. At the city's centre is the modern Federation Square development, with plazas, bars, and restaurants by the Yarra River. In the Southbank area, the Melbourne Arts Precinct is the site of Arts Centre Melbourne – a performing arts complex – and the National Gallery of Victoria, with Australian and indigenous art.

Explore central business district of Singapore {4K}
Central Business District (CBD) The CBD is Singapore's business and financial district, and home to leading international businesses and financial institutions.
The main purpose of a CBD is to provide a centralized and condensed space for businesses to operate. This is why a concentration of office buildings, banks, and other businesses are often seen in a CBD. However, a CBD can also be home to retail stores, restaurants, and other forms of entertainment.

The CBD is a bustling and vibrant area that is home to many iconic landmarks and attractions. A walking tour allowed me to explore the area in more detail, while also learning about its rich history and cultural significance. Some highlights of the tour included the beautiful Marina Bay area, the towering skyscrapers of Raffles Place, and the charming shophouses of Tanjong Pagar. Our knowledgeable guide provided interesting insights and anecdotes about each location, making the experience even more enjoyable.

This is One Bangkok, and it is Thailand’s largest fully integrated district, a so-called “once in a generation development”. it is a place renowned to have a vibrant, prosperous community with best-in-class buildings, space efficiency for occupants, and adaptability to evolving markets. A location filled with the most mesmerizing technology.
The master plan of One Bangkok is that it will have 5 district realms each having a unique purpose to serve, from retail & lifestyle elements to towers that serve both working and living, it is truly one of the most spectacular sights to see in Thailand.
To go into detail of this massive project, it would have Five Premium grade A office buildings, a certificate that ensures it is suitable for occupation for the largest businesses in the world. Five luxury and lifestyle hotels will take part in this district where each will be constructed by some of the most famous brands in the region. The Three luxury residential towers will yet be another amazing sight and will be surely occupied by Thailand’s elites amongst elites. Other projects included are arts and cultural hubs. In total, all of these will occupy a land size of over 16.7 hectares, something that will undoubtedly be an expensive sight to see considering it is located in a prestigious location.
The most outstanding factor among all these complexes is that it will have a 90-story meter signature tower, making it the country’s tallest building to date! Inside it will have several office spaces, and even a super luxury hotel! It will give the occupants the panoramic view of the city with the focus on Bangkok’s skyline. Yes, it will also be one of Southeast Asia’s tallest towers!
While most of what we noted is it being a modern, hustle and bustle life establishment, it is actually far from it. Why? because half of the land it occupies which is 8 hectares is dedicated to green areas and open spaces, therefore making it not only a place identified as a working environment but welcomes the work-life balance. It is also the aim of this development, to make it a people-centric area, basically means that it is designed for that seamless live-work-play.
As it is Constructed to be known as a world-class framework, then certainly its cost will indeed be something mouth-watering, a total over 3.8 billion dollars will be spent on this project alone! making it one of the most expensive real estate developments in Thailand. It is first estimated to finish in 2023 for its Phase 1 and 2026 for its Phase 2.
This will be located in Central Bangkok, which is just beside the Lumpini Park, the country’s largest and most beautiful park. And likewise connectivity won’t be an issue as it will be connected to several public transport systems.
An initiative like this just shows how determined the country wants to progress. It isn’t this project alone that Thailand has been chasing; there are several more others, one that I particularly like is its upcoming High-speed rail. Surely a scheme like this will create tens of thousands of jobs, I also believe that it will be a place where start-ups are founded as it is an innovation driven destination, quite an exciting project indeed!
Anyway, what do you think about One Bangkok? Will it be one of the world’s spotlight once completed? Share with us your thoughts in the comments, don’t forget to leave us a like and follow us for more amazing videos. Thanks for watching!

This is the new Arca South, the newest and next central business and lifestyle district located in the south of Metro Manila. This is said to be the next Bonifacio Global City, meaning that it will have some of the best entertainment, hotel, restaurant facilities in the country.

This is the Arca South, a new and sustainable metropolis that will become the next central business and lifestyle district. This project aims to develop over 74 hectares of land into a mixed-use center where opportunities rise one after the other.
The whole construction is estimated to cost over $1.5 billion dollars, which is surprisingly expensive considering how small the field it has, to give a comparison the New Clark City, which is also an upcoming mega-project of the country sits on a 9,450-hectare area and has a cost of around $14 billion dollars.
The design of this metropolis prioritizes environmental sustainability where large green spaces and beautiful streetscapes is seen throughout the district. The constructions are reported to be made of eco-bricks, a material that is produced from used plastic bottles packed with other commercial waste to ensure that there is very minimal damage to the environment of where it occupies.
It is also where high-rise buildings are not recognized, as it aims to be a low-density area, it is to assure that everything is seamlessly connected either through retail areas or open spaces. The district is revealed to be surrounded with over 60% of green zones, parks, and other beautiful sceneries.
The estate likewise presents itself as a work-life balance as Office towers are said to be stacked on top of malls, so that if stress comes to individuals, a break to a world-class entertainment place is just a walk away. The most important factor about Arca South is that it has one of the most diverse lifestyle choices, as it itself is creating an endless possibility for people to liven up their souls. There will be several commercial stores where each may offer different options.
This is constructed along with the upcoming modern integrated terminal system, a project that serves as a central station where travelers can come and go to the capital and throughout the entire country, It is indeed expected to be connected to the Philippine National Railways, Metro Rail Transit Lines, and the most anticipated Mega Manila Subway. This is a grand opportunity for Arca South, as they are positioned as a destination for millions of people every year. The ITX alone is likely going to see over 200,000 passengers daily, but this is not even accounting for individuals who will use the railways of the region.
This center may indeed become the next most expensive places to settle in, it may far surpass the Bonifacio Global City if it will truly live up to a destination people will want to go to.
The developers of this massive master plan is a subsidiary of the oldest conglomerate of the country, known as Ayala Corporation. It is said that this metropolis estate project is the most ambitious one yet for this firm since the development of the Bonifacio Global City.
There are also several outside entities that have their own buildings being constructed inside the municipality, to name a few, Daiichi Properties who are known for building award-winning buildings in the country: these are the likes of the One World Plaza, Orient square, The Taipan Place, and several more. The goal of Daiichi Properties this time is to construct a tower called 56 Central inside Arca South. Artha Land, a well known conglomerate, is again setting up their buildings inside the facility. The fact that there are several large businesses that have already been doing their work inside the vicinity just means that this location and master plan is positioned as the next big thing.
Right now, you may be wondering that this might be far from where you are located, well if you are in the Metro Manila area then you are actually quite near, it is just inside Taguig City and just 7 kilometers away from the Makati Central Business District, meaning that access in and around the city is easier for both people who will live here and the individuals who will come.
While it may seem that this is a newly developed city, it has actually been constructing the entire plan since 2013. It was when the area of where it resides in which was known as the Food Terminal Incorporated, a government owned food processing and distribution center was sold to the Ayala Land for a cost of over $500 million dollars. Since then, the completion of various developments has already been completed.

The Central Business District (CBD) is a New Orleans neighborhood. High-rises, boutique hotels, lively bars, and sleek eateries serving modern Cajun-Creole cuisine dot the landscape. The Orpheum and Saenger theaters are historic performance venues that host concerts and musicals. The South Market District has upscale shopping, as does palm-lined Canal Street, which also houses the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas and a casino. Here is what you need to know about the Central Business District, New Orleans. So let’s take a look…

Singapore CBD Walking Tour | Singapore CBD Area | Central Business District Singapore
I recently had the opportunity to enjoy a walking tour around the Central Business District of Singapore and wanted to share my experience with you.
If you're planning a trip to Singapore, I highly recommend a walking tour around the CBD. Not only will you see some of the city's most famous landmarks, but you'll also get some exercise and fresh air while doing so.

I travel to Melbourne, Australia in the state of Victoria to find out how Melbourne was voted one of the most livable cities in the world throughout the 2010s till present day. Melbourne is always in competition with Sydney as the best city in Australia. I explore the city by train and on foot to see all the sights and sounds of the city, as well as it's surrounding neighborhoods.

Melbourne Central is the premiere shopping centre in Melbourne CBD. It goes across several floors and the building itself is iconic with the cone design, and also the large clock that chimes each hour and seems to draw the tourists. It has all the major clothing brands and plenty of food options in the food court. It also has the train station, Coles supermarket, a Fitness First, cinemas and bars on site. The glass cone is the largest glass structure of its type in the world. Definitely worth including it on your plan during your next shopping trip.
