"Sherlock" is the fourth EP of South Korean boy group Shinee. The physical CD was released on March 21, 2012 in South Korea, but the album was made available online worldwide on March 19, 2012. According to statistics released by Gaon, Shinee’s fourth mini-album Sherlock sold 135,370 copies in the month of March, setting the record for most album sales in March 2012. The title song "Sherlock (Clue + Note)" topped the weekly download chart for 5 weeks and digital chart, various music charts as well. On March 27, 2012, Sherlock placed 10th on the Billboard Weekly Heatseekers Albums and 5th on the Billboard Weekly World Albums charts respectively.
Background
The album consists of seven songs. The lead single and title song "Sherlock (Clue + Note)" is a hybrid remix; the two songs that were remixed for "Sherlock (Clue + Note)" are "Clue" and "Note". The dance in the "Sherlock" music video was choreographed by Tony Testa.
The lyrics to "Honesty" are written by Jonghyun and Minho, to give thanks to their fans. The lyrics to "Alarm Clock" are written by Jonghyun and Minho, about wishing to wake up from a nightmare of past break-up. The album also includes "Stranger", the main theme song for Strangers6, a Korea-China-Japan joint drama, composed by Korean songwriter Kenzie. The song was first released in Japanese, as a bonus track of their debut Japanese album The First.
"Stranger" is a song recorded by American singer Hilary Duff for her fourth studio album, Dignity (2007). It was written by Duff and Kara DioGuardi with the song's producers Vada Nobles, Derrick Haruin, and Julius "Logic" Diaz.
Background and release
In mid April 2007, in a post on Duff's blog, she told her fans that they could vote for what they thought should be the next single from Dignity. According to a later post, fan feedback via votes was "overwhelmingly" in favor of "Stranger" as the next single. Duff promoted the song with a performance on So You Think You Can Dance.
In mid-2007, concurrent to the preparation of the radio release of "Stranger", Duff was featured in a bikini on the July covers of the magazines Us Weekly and Shape, and on the August cover of Maxim accompanied by the declaration that she had gone "from the queen of teen to breakout sex symbol". The Associated Press wrote that the first two were representative of "a clear move [on Duff's part] to put her Lizzie McGuire past behind her", and that more provocative imaging of her would help her singles to garner mainstream radio play: "Ultimately, nature, time and genetics may help Duff in a way Disney, despite all its might, cannot." Guy Zapoleon, a radio consultant and former programmer for top 40 radio, said such imaging would "definitely have a positive effect on the attitude of programmers, who are mostly male, as Disney tries to mature her image".
"Where Do You Go" was co-produced with Nick Sansano and released as a single in September 1991, prior to commencing the rest of the album with Gehman, but it was included on Cut. Subsequent singles were "Head Above Water" (July 1992), "We the People" (September), "True Tears of Joy" (November), "Holy Grail" (March 1993) and "Imaginary Girl" (August), all appeared on the ARIA Singles Chart Top100.
After a deck of playing cards is shuffled by the dealer, it is often given to a player other than the one who performed the shuffle for a procedure called a cut. This is not to be confused with cut cards which are used in casino poker games.
Procedure
The dealer completes the shuffle, and then sets the cards face-down on the table near the designated player, typically the player to the dealer's right. The player cuts the deck by removing a contiguous range of cards from the deck, and places them toward himself so that the stack of cards to be dealt is closest to the dealer. The simplest form of the cut is done by taking, roughly, the top one-half of the cards, and placing them on the table or a cut card. Either the player cutting or the dealer then completes the cut by placing the remaining bottom portion on top of the cards that have been cut off.
Once the cut is complete, the dealer then picks up the deck, straightens or "squares" it, then deals the cards.
Etiquette
The contiguous section may also be taken from the middle of the deck. This is called "Scarne's cut", though in some settings this is considered poor etiquette or against the rules. A cut involving a very small number of cards, such as taking only the top card (or some cards from the bottom) as a cut, is often acceptable according to rules. The same is true when a player takes every top card save for one on the cut.
The character of Tobi is inspired by Alphonse Poulin, a professor of ballet at Juilliard School.
Synopsis
Tobi is an aging dancer, choreographer and teacher who enjoys knitting. His quiet life is interrupted when Mike and Lisa enter his home under the pretense of interviewing him for Lisa's thesis.
