Route 190 is a state route in the northern part of the U.S. state of Connecticut. It starts at Route 75 in the town of Suffield and proceeds eastward across the Connecticut River through the towns of Enfield, Somers, and Stafford. It ends at Route 171, in the town of Union. Route 190 was established in 1932 as a route between the state line at Southwick and the town of Enfield. The route was later extended eastward to Union but was truncated in the west to Suffield center.
Route description
Route 190 starts at Route 75, in the town of Suffield as Mapleton Avenue. The road then bears right onto Thompsonville Road to connect to Route 159 (East Street). After travelling south on Route 159 for 0.6 miles (0.97km), it turns eastward again on Hazard Avenue, crossing the Connecticut River from Suffield into Enfield on the Enfield-Suffield Veterans Bridge.
Hazard Avenue is a limited access road from its intersection with Route 159 to just east of the interchange with I-91. Hazard Avenue has an interchange with US 5 just after the Connecticut River crossing, where access is via Frew Terrace (eastbound) and Franklin Street (westbound). Both these streets are unsigned state roads with designations State Road 515 and 514, respectively. About 0.3 miles (0.48km) to the east is a cloverleaf interchange with I-91 (at Exits 47E and 47W). East of I-91, Hazard Avenue continues as a four-lane divided surface road for another 0.6 miles (0.97km), passing by the Brookside Plaza strip mall. Route 190 continues east for about four miles (6km) through the Hazardville and Scitico sections of Enfield, where it intersects with Routes 192 and 191 along the way. In Scitico, Route 190 passes by another strip mall, the Scitico Shopping Center as it heads east into the town of Somers.
Interstate 190 (I-190) runs for 19.26 miles (31.00km) north from I-290 in Worcester to Route 2 in Leominster in the US state of Massachusetts. A portion of the highway was built with extra-wide shoulders, which are painted green, to prevent runoff from contaminating the nearby Wachusett Reservoir. The green color is also intended to reduce the perceived width of the unusually wide road.
Route description
I-190 begins at a southern terminus with I-290 in Worcester. Near the Greendale Mall, there is an interchange with Route 12 before the highway passes along the eastern shore of Indian Lake and goes through the city of Worcester. In West Boylston, I-190 has another interchange with Route 12 before turning to the northwest into Holden and then the north and crossing the Quinapoxet River. The freeway curves to the northeast reentering West Boylston and enters a more rural area, and I-190 intersects Route 140 and Route 12 another time in Sterling. In Lancaster, I-190 has an exit for Route 117. North of Johnny Appleseed State Park and Lancaster State Forest, I-190 merges and terminates at Route 2 and Mechanic Street in the city of Leominster.
"Massachusetts" is a song by the Bee Gees, released in 1967. Written by Barry, Robin & Maurice Gibb. Robin Gibb sang lead vocals on this song and it would become one of his staple songs to perform during concerts on both Bee Gees and his solo concerts. It later appeared on their 1968 album, Horizontal.
The song was written in the Regis Hotel, New York City during a tour of the United States. The song was intended as an antithesis to flower power anthems of the time such as "Let's Go to San Francisco" and "San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Flowers in Your Hair)" in that the protagonist had been to San Francisco to join the hippies but was now homesick. The idea of the lights having gone out in Massachusetts was to suggest that everyone had gone to San Francisco.
"Massachusetts" is a song with words and music by Arlo Guthrie. The song, originally released as a cut on Guthrie's 1976 album Amigo, was adopted by the Legislature in July 1981 as the official folk song of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

ABOUT THIS FEED:
Keokuk is home to U.S. Lock #19. When completed in 1913, it was the largest electricity generating plant in the world. The locks are 1200 feet long and 110 feet wide, and large enough to handle a full-length fleet of barges. Major commodities moved include grain, aggregate, petroleum, coal and chemicals. The present lock was put into operation in 1957 at a cost of $13.5 million dollars. It is owned and operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The Power House and spillways are owned and operated by AmerenUE, a privately owned utility company. The lock normally operates from early March thru early December, and is open 24/7 seven days a week. With a 38 feet (11.6 m) difference between the normal pool above and below, the lock has the highest "step" in the stairway of the Rock Island District locks.
The camera is mounted on what’s left of the original train/traffic bridge which spanned the Mississippi. With the completion of the new bridge, the Keokuk side of the old bridge was transformed into an Observation Deck. The deck provides a wonderful view of the Mississippi River, the Illinois riverfront, Lock & Dam #19, the George M. Verity Museum and Victory Park.
