Mike McVay has been an On-Air Talent and Program Director in markets as small as Wheeling, WVa and as big as Los Angeles. He was a General Manager at several medium and major market Radio Stations, owned radio stations in 4 different markets, launched the media & entertainment consulting firm McVay Media which has operated continuously since 1984, served as EVP/Content & Programming for Cumulus/Westwood One for 9 years before returning to McVay Media, and you serve as a writer for Radio Ink magazine.
Mike was most recently recognized with the Broadcasters Foundation of America Leadership Award for 2024 and will receive the 2024 Giants of Broadcasting & Electronic Arts award from the Library of American Broadcasting Foundation on November 12th. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation where he is also Co-Chair of The Gracie Awards. He is on the BOD for The Country Radio Broadcasters, a member of the Country Cares Advisory Council for St. Jude Children’s Hospital and Research Center and is a voting member of the Country Music Association & The Academy of Country Music.
He is a 2021 Inductee into the West Virginia Broadcasters Hall of Fame.

In my college degree tier list video and other videos like the most worthless degrees or the top 5 college degrees that are actually worth it, I've mentioned that there are some majors where you don't actually have to go to university and get the college degree in order to land a job in that field. Depending on what job you're going for, communications might land under that category because of how general it is. In my college degree tier list video and other videos like the most worthless degrees or the top 5 college degrees that are actually worth it, I've mentioned that there are some majors where you don't actually have to go to university and get the college degree in order to land a job in that field.
