Gang Starr - Mass Appeal
Lyrics:
[Verse One: Guru]
No way you'll never make it
Come with the weak shit, I break kids
Step into my zone, mad rhymes will stifle ya
Lines like rifles go blast when I kick some ass
A lot of rappers be like one time wonders
Couldn't say a fly rhyme if there was one right under
Their noses, I hate those motherfuckin posers
But I'm so real to them it's scary
And with my unique skills nag you can't compare me
And no we don't make wack tracks
and all the suckers get pushed back when I'm kickin real facts
I represent set up shit like a tent boy
You're paranoid cause you're my son like Elroy
And you'd be happy as hell to get a record deal
Maybe your soul you'd sell to have mass appeal
[Verse Two:]
Oh yes I'm greater than all MC's when I breeeze give me room please

Rhythm Roulette: Hit-Boy (Guitar Center Edition)
When Hit-Boy graced the stage of the legendary Watch the Throne World Tour in 2011, Jay-Z famously announced that Hit, producer of the Throne duo’s classic “N****s in Paris record, was the only guest artist to do so to that point. It was a hell of an honor, especially for a non-vocalist, which Hit still was at the time.
Since then, the IE Inland Empire native has gone on a massive tear, producing arena-rocking anthems for the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Big Sean, Drake, the late, great Nipsey Hussle and more. And he’s done it all without making the same beat twice.
On this Guitar Center edition of ‘Rhythm Roulette,’ Hit-Boy brings that dexterity to the proving grounds.
Enjoy.

Rhythm Roulette: 9th Wonder
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, Rhythm Roulette fans. While most of y’all don’t deserve shit the way you’ve been wilding in the comments sections this past year, we decided to let it slide and gift you with a new episode featuring the North Carolina legend 9th Wonder.
After linking up at The Record Krate in Raleigh, we joined 9th back at his studio to watch the master at work. With Charly McClain, Jermaine Jackson, and The Temprees at his disposal, the GRAMMY award-winning producer warmed up with a few quick flips before ultimately chopping up Lovemen. The final result was so crazy, Rapsody immediately hopped in the booth to bless it with a proper verse.

The Studio Interview with Nipsey Hussle | Breaks Down 'Victory Lap' and Overcoming His Obstacles
“How long till opportunity meets preparation?” Nipsey Hussle queries on “Dedication,” a track from his long-awaited ’Victory Lap’ album. “It’s just speaking to the convo you have with yourself when you outside of the opportunities… [when] your actions and your mentality are success, but the reality of your situation isn’t.” The L.A. rapper whose entrepreneurial acumen has been celebrated for years spoke about how he “Hustles and Motivates” during a recent visit to MASS APPEAL HQ. The rapper who changed the game with the business model on his ‘Crewnshaw’ CD revealed how he overcame tremendous odds. “I’m supposed to be in jail today—there’s a whole prison complex,” he reflects. “As an artist there’s a business model that exists to prevent you from having ownership.” Step inside the studio an...

Oh yes I'm greater than all MC's when I breeeze give me room please
I be like fascinatin when I be updatin
Cuttin off wack kids, pullin their trump cards
I thump hard, and mak eem say that I'm God
Niggaz be pretendin they hardcore
Never know the meaning of [real hardcore]
But I get props like a slogan and no man
Could ever try to diss when I kicks my jam
Lyrically def and connecting complete mic wrecking
No double checking vocals kill like weapons
But if I have to I go all out with no mic
Yeah that's right cause I survived mad fights
And for my peeps I truly care
Cause without some of them I wouldn't be here
And they all know how I feel
Cause suckers be like playin themselves to have mass appeal
[Verse Three:]
I know I'm dope but don't wet that
I've suffered setbacks but now I'm makin greenbacks
Just like baggy slacks I'm crazy hip-hop
Check one two and you don't stop
Your head'll bop when I drop my crop
of pure bomb, just like the seashore I'm calm
But wild, with my monotone style
Because I don't need gimmicks
Gimme a fly beat and I'm all in it
Word is bond I go on and on
For you it's tragic I got magic like wands
So I'ma end this lecture and I betcha
Those who kick dirt and do time I'm gonna get cha
Cause I be kickin the real
While they be losin the race tryin to chase mass appeal

If you start making music for the Diplomats before you're supposed to graduate from high school, you better pray that you're consistently at the top of your game. That's what araabMUZIK has been doing and then some. The Rhode Island producer has made a name for himself, in more than one way. His live MPC sets are dizzying and his imagination behind the boards is still expanding. He also miraculously survived a gunshot to the head in an attempted robbery in Harlem earlier in February. But he pushed through and released his album Dream World in July and produced Joe Budden's last album Rage & The Machine.
As you can assume, it was only a matter of time before we got araab for Rhythm Roulette. We hit up Moodies Records in the Bronx and ended up with CDs from Blue Magic, Diana Ross & The Supremes, and The Dramatics (he's not messing with vinyl). Then back at the studio with his AKAI MPC,
araabMUZIK chops up samples and does what he does best. Layer after layer, he builds in his signature sound and producer drops for what could be the intro to the next Dipset album.
