Mark Wells graduated from Lake Shore High School in St. Clair Shores, Michigan in 1975. Wells then attended Bowling Green State University from 1975 to 1979 where he was a star forward with the Falcons in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association. Despite his abilities as a player, Wells did not receive a scholarship offer to play hockey until after his first season with the team. Following the completion of his college career, Wells, along with Falcons teammate Ken Morrow, was selected to play on the 1980 U.S. Olympic Men's Ice Hockey team that went on to win the gold medal at Lake Placid.
Mark Wells (born 22 April 1973) is an Australian musician and record producer, best known as the bass player for The Ronnie Wood Band, and the founding member of Twenty Two Hundred.
In 2001, Wells produced the album Not For Beginners by the Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood (SPV/Steamhammer).
Wells was the bass player for The Ronnie Wood Band from 2001 to 2002. He appeared on the live DVD Far East Man, which was filmed in London 2001.
In 2006, Wells won a Queensland Q Music award for his song "Plausible Deniability" (performed by Monkeybone) in the category of "Punk and Metal".
He is the forming member, songwriter, bass player and guitarist for the Australian rock band Twenty Two Hundred who formed in 2010. He produced and mixed the band's debut EP "Eleven" in 2010, and he produced the band's debut album, Carnaval De Vénus in 2013. (Tonequake Records).
Mark Wells White, Jr., (born March 17, 1940) is an Americanlawyer, who served as the 43rd Governor of Texas from January 18, 1983 to January 20, 1987.
Biography
White was born in Henderson, in Rusk County, Texas to parents Mark Wells White, Sr., and Sarah Elizabeth White. White attended Baylor University in Waco, Texas, and was a member of the Tryon Coterie Club, now Phi Delta Theta (Texas Lambda Chapter) at Baylor. He graduated from Baylor Law School in 1965. After spending time practicing law in a private practice in Houston (Harris County), White served as the state's assistant attorney general. In 1973, White was appointed as Texas secretary of state under Governor Dolph Briscoe and also served in the 36th Infantry Division of the Texas National Guard.
Career in Texas politics
White served as secretary of state until 1977, when he resigned to run for state attorney general, where he served until 1983. In the 1978 general election, White defeated the Republican choice, James A. Baker, III, a Houston lawyer, businessman, and power broker affiliated with the Bushes of Houston. White polled 1,249,846 votes and (55.13 percent) to Baker's 999,431 votes and (44.08 percent). As the state's chief enforcement officer, he co-chaired the Federal-State Enforcement Coordinating Committee and was a member of the Governor's Organized Crime Prevention Council. On the national level, he was elected Chairman of the Southern Conference of Attorneys General in May 1981.
