A wand (sometimes magic wand) is a thin, hand-held stick or rod made of wood, stone, ivory, or metals like gold or silver. Generally, in modern language, wands are ceremonial and/or have associations with magic but there have been other uses, all stemming from the original meaning as a synonym of rod and virge, both of which had a similar development. A stick giving length and leverage is perhaps the earliest and simplest of tools. Long versions of the magic wand are usually styled in forms of staves or scepters, often with designs or an orb of a gemstone forged on the top.
Symbolism
In ecclesiastical and formal government ceremonial, special officials may carry a wand of office or staff of office representing their power. Compare in this context the function of the ceremonial mace, the sceptre, and the staff of office. Its age may be even greater, as Stone Age cave paintings show figures holding sticks, which may be symbolic representations of their power.
The magic wand can also symbolize "tool"-ness. A wand isn't an actual physical tool (e.g. a gun, hammer, screwdriver, etc.) with practical physical functions, but it can aid the user to manipulate the world around them. Following an occult definition of magic— "the Science and Art of causing Change to occur in conformity with Will"— the wand represents the means by which the Will causes the conformity.
The Hitachi Magic Wand (renamed as Magic Wand Original and Original Magic Wand and referred to simply as Magic Wand) is an electrical, mains-powered vibrating massager, manufactured for relieving tension and relaxing sore muscles. Japanese company Hitachi listed the device for business in the United States in 1968. Sex educatorBetty Dodson popularized its use as a vibrator and masturbation aid for women during the sex-positive movement in the late 1960s. It functions effectively as a clitoral vibrator and is able to bring women to clitoral orgasm. The wand is 12 inches (30cm) long and weighs 1.2 pounds (540g) with stimulation provided by its rubberized 2.5 inches (64mm) head.
Hitachi executives assisted financing the production of chocolates in the shape of the massager in 1992, in honor of the 15-year anniversary of the sex shop by and for women Good Vibrations. Subsequently the company asserted in 1999 its sole intended use was for health care purposes. Hitachi had a conflict with its U.S. distributor in 2000 and briefly stopped selling the device until it reached a new deal with distributor Vibratex. The Magic Wand sold out after being featured in a 2002 episode of Sex and the City. Hitachi decided to cease production of the device in 2013 because of concerns about having the company name attached to a sex toy. Vibratex persuaded the company to continue manufacturing it under the name "Original Magic Wand", omitting the Hitachi name. In 2014, the company used the name "Magic Wand Original".

White Raven Spirit Magic Wand
White Raven Spirit Magic Wand - A wand is a vital part of many a witch’s toolkit. It serves to focus the magic that you raise, and to direct it where it is needed.
This wand was made from tulip poplar wood that grew right here on our homestead. The bark has been removed, and the wood sanded to a silky smooth finish. We then added a wood burned stylized raven design, flying across the night sky, with a dramatic shaded background. This is a new technique for me, and I am so pleased with the way it turned out. It is very time-consuming, but the end result is definitely worth it. As a final step, the wand has been coated with walnut oil, to enhance and protect the beauty of the wood. This wand measures approximately 14" long, and 5/8" in diameter.

Necromancy Expert Talks Voodoo, Wands, Snakes & How To Conjure Spirits
Necromancy is a form of magic involving communication with the deceased -- either by summoning their spirit as an apparition or raising them bodily -- for the purpose of divination, imparting the means to foretell future events or discover hidden knowledge, or to use the deceased as a weapon, as the term may sometimes be used in a more general sense to refer to black magic or witchcraft.
The word "necromancy" is adapted from Late Latin necromantia, itself borrowed from post-Classical Greek νεκρομαντεία (nekromanteía), a compound of Ancient Greek νεκρός (nekrós), "dead body", and μαντεία (manteía), "prophecy or divination"; this compound form was first used by Origen of Alexandria in the 3rd century CE. The Classical Greek term was ἡ νέκυια (nekyia), from the episode of the Odyssey in which...

The Classical Greek term was ἡ νέκυια (nekyia), from the episode of the Odyssey in which Odysseus visits the realm of the dead, νεκυομαντεία in Hellenistic Greek, rendered as necyomantīa in Latin, and as necyomancy in 17th-century English.
Early necromancy was related to -- and most likely evolved from -- shamanism, which calls upon spirits such as the ghosts of ancestors. Classical necromancers addressed the dead in "a mixture of high-pitch squeaking and low droning", comparable to the trance-state mutterings of shamans.
Necromancy was prevalent throughout Western antiquity with records of its practice in Babylon, Egypt, Greece, and Rome. In his Geographica, Strabo refers to νεκρομαντία (necyomanteis), or "diviners by the dead", as the foremost practitioners of divination among the people of Persia, and it is believed to have also been widespread among the peoples of Chaldea (particularly the Sabians, or "star-worshipers"), Etruria, and Babylonia. The Babylonian necromancers were called manzazuu or sha'etemmu, and the spirits they raised were called etemmu.
The oldest literary account of necromancy is found in Homer's Odyssey. Under the direction of Circe, a powerful sorceress, Odysseus travels to the underworld (katabasis) in order to gain insight about his impending voyage home by raising the spirits of the dead through the use of spells which Circe has taught him. He wishes to invoke and question the shade of Tiresias in particular; however, he is unable to summon the seer's spirit without the assistance of others. The Odyssey's passages contain many descriptive references to necromantic rituals: rites must be performed around a pit with fire during nocturnal hours, and Odysseus has to follow a specific recipe, which includes the blood of sacrificial animals, to concoct a libation for the ghosts to drink while he recites prayers to both the ghosts and gods of the underworld.
