Madame Berthe's mouse lemur (Microcebus berthae) or Berthe's mouse lemur is the smallest of the mouse lemurs and the smallest primate in the world; the average body length is 9.2cm (3.6in) and seasonal weight is around 30g (1.1oz).Microcebus berthae is one of many species of Malagasy lemurs that came about through extensive speciation, caused by unknown environmental mechanisms and conditions. This primate is found chiefly in the Kirindy forest in western Madagascar. After its discovery in 1992 in the dry deciduous forest of western Madagascar, it was initially thought to represent a rediscovery of M. myoxinus, but comparative morphometric and genetic studies revealed its status as a new species, M. berthae.
This lemur is named after the conservationist and primatologist Prof. Dr. Madame Berthe Rakotosamimanana of Madagascar, the Secretary General of the Groupe d'Etudes et de Recherche des Primates (GERP) from its founding until her death in 2005.
Shwayne Booth Jr., known as S.mouse (later as S.mouse!), is a fictional character from the Australian mockumentary television series, Angry Boys. The character is portrayed by Chris Lilley, who wears a curly wig and blackface makeup. He has appeared in Angry Boys since the second episode. He is an African Americanrapper who lives in Calabasas, California. In the second episode, S.mouse is introduced as the rapper who just released the biggest selling hip-hop single of all time, "Slap My Elbow". Later in the show, S.mouse is put under house arrest at his parent's home for two months, after defecating on a police car in the music video for his single "Poo on You". He also gets dropped from his record label after another one of his videos, Grandmother Fucker, receives many complaints.
S.mouse has received a mixed response from critics. Paul Kalina of The Sydney Morning Herald has written that "S.mouse is arguably the new show's weakest incarnation", while Rowen Dean of ABC Online describes him as "Eminem meets Ali G meets Snoop Dogg".
The mouse lemurs are nocturnallemurs of the genus Microcebus. Like all lemurs, mouse lemurs are native to Madagascar.
Mouse lemurs have a combined head, body and tail length of less than 27 centimetres (11in), making them the smallest primates (the smallest species being Madame Berthe's mouse lemur); however, their weight fluctuates in response to daylight duration. Lemurs and Mouse Lemurs were announced by the IUCN as the most endangered of all vertebrates. There are about 21 mouse lemur species identified by 2015. There were only 2 known mouse lemur species by 1992. It was estimated that the 21 mouse lemur species evolved from a common ancestor 10 million years ago. Mouse lemurs are considered cryptic species - with very little morphological differences between the various species, but with high genetic diversity. Recent evidence points to differences in their mating calls, which is very diverse. Since mouse lemurs are nocturnal, they might not have evolved to look differently, but had evolved various auditory and vocal systems.
