The Kinks were active for more than 30 years between 1964 and 1996, releasing 28 regular albums in the UK (24 studio, four live), and 30 in the USA (24 studio, four live, two compilation), where the early albums were slightly different to the British albums partly due to the method that publishing royalties were calculated in the two countries, partly due to difference in popularity of the extended play format (the UK market liked it, the US market didn't, so US albums had the EP releases bundled onto them), and partly due to the US albums including the hit singles, and the UK albums not; after The Kink Kontroversy in 1965 the albums were the same. There have been somewhere between 100 and 200 compilation albums released worldwide. Their hit singles included three UK number-one singles, starting in 1964 with "You Really Got Me"; plus 18 Top 40 singles in the 1960s alone and further Top 40 hits in the 1970s and 1980s.
The Kinks' music often focuses on everyday subjects for working-class people in Britain and are known for their poetic lyrics about subjects like fashion followers in "Dedicated Follower of Fashion", poverty in "Dead End Street" and environment issues in "Apeman."
A lost and found (American English and Canadian English), lost property (British English), or lost articles (also Canadian English) is an office in a public building or area where people can go to retrieve lost articles that may have been found by others. Frequently found at museums, amusement parks and schools, a lost and found will typically be a clearly marked box or room in a location near the main entrance. This is in contrast to Old Dominion University's centralization of lost and found management through the use of technology to better manage the return-to-owner process.
Some lost and found offices will try to contact the owners of any lost items if there are any personal identifiers available. Practically all will either sell, give or throw away items after a certain period has passed to clear their storage.
History
First advertising of this kind appears on papyruses in Ancient Greece and Rome.
In Japan, the lost-and-found property system dates to a code written in the year 718.
The first modern lost and found office was organized in Paris in 1805. Napoleon ordered his prefect of police to establish it as a central place "to collect all objects found in the streets of Paris", according to Jean-Michel Ingrandt, who was appointed the office's director in 2001. However, it was not until 1893 that Louis Lépine, then prefect of police, organized efforts to actively track down the owners of lost items.
Lost & Found is a compilation album of recording studio sessions credited to members of Australian Crawl and other artists; it includes tracks originally recorded with Guy McDonough and released on his 1985 posthumous solo album My Place. Guy McDonough had been Australian Crawl's guitarist, vocalist and songwriter from late 1980 until his death in 1984. Former Australian Crawl drummer Bill McDonough (Guy's older brother) and producer Peter Blyton compiled, produced and mixed the tracks for Lost & Found.
Background
In mid 1996, former Australian Crawl drummer Bill McDonough and producer Peter Blyton uncovered some lost 24 track master recordings, some of which were to become Lost & Found. Copyrights that McDonough had collected and archived resulted in six reel to reel tapes containing a collection of about 17 original songs by Crawl songwriters.
The tapes had suffered slight damage due to poor storage so McDonough and Blyton traveled to Germany where the tapes were restored and transferred onto new tape stock at the EMI studios in Cologne. Next stop, Peak Studios in Düsseldorf where, for two weeks they sifted through the tapes and digitally re-mixed and re-mastered as many songs as possible, resulting in thirteen re-mastered tracks.

1986-1989 SPECIAL REPORT: "THE CRACK ERA"
The crack epidemic in the United States was a surge of crack cocaine use in major cities across the United States between the early 1980s and the early 1990s. This resulted in a number of social consequences, such as increasing crime and violence in American inner city neighborhoods, as well as a resulting backlash in the form of tough on crime policies.
In 1986, the U.S. Congress passed laws that created a 100 to 1 sentencing disparity for the possession or trafficking of crack when compared to penalties for trafficking of powder cocaine, which had been widely criticized as discriminatory against minorities, mostly blacks, who were more likely to use crack than powder cocaine.

1986-1989 SPECIAL REPORT: "CRACK..NYC"
Crack more than tripled the number of cocaine users in the city since 1986. According to New York State statistics, there were 182,000 regular cocaine users in New York City in 1986. That number grew, according to city officials, to an estimated total of 600,000 in 1988, most addicted to the cocaine derivative.

The doping problem has been most public in the Tour de France - two stage winners of the 2007 Tour withdrew from the race amid doping allegations - but its influence is so pervasive that T-Mobile recently withdrew its sponsorship of a professional cycling team, stating that the company did not want to associate its brand with doping. - Santa Clara University
Greg LeMond is a former professional road bicycle racer from the United States and a three time winner of the Tour de France in 1986, 1989, and 1990.
