Looking Forward is the fourteenth album, and final studio album to date, by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, and the third studio album by the quartet. It was released on Reprise Records in 1999, peaked at #26 on the Billboard 200 with total sales nearing 400,000. It is currently out of print, although it is available for download on Spotify.
Background and recording
Crosby, Stills & Nash toured extensively through the 1990s, playing almost as many shows as they had in the previous decades combined. Since their previous album, no new solo albums were forthcoming from Stephen Stills or Graham Nash, but David Crosby had discovered his adult son James Raymond, the two starting a band with Jeff Pevar yielding an album in 1998. However, the band's relationship with Atlantic Records had soured, partly over a lack of push for After the Storm, but mostly over the perception that the label now had very little interest in the group when they had made the company millions during the 1970s heyday. They terminated their contract with Atlantic in 1997, and began to record CSN tracks out of pocket without a record deal. Working with Stills to compile the Buffalo Springfield retrospective box set, Neil Young became intrigued with these CSN sessions. Playing on some tracks in process, Young brought in three recordings he had earmarked for one of his own albums, "Looking Forward," "Slowpoke," and "Out of Control." The possibility of a new CSNY album attracted the attention of Young's label Reprise Records, which duly released the album once completed.
Looking Forward is an anthology of science fiction stories edited by Milton Lesser, published in hardcover in 1953 by Beechhurst Press and reprinted in the British market in 1955 by Cassell & Company. The anthology was particularly poorly received, and carried the unusually high cover price, for its day, of $5.00. Its contents include one of the few uncollected and otherwise unanthologized stories by Walter M. Miller, Jr..
Contents
"Science Fiction Comes of Age", Milton Lesser
"The Man from Outside", Jack Williamson (Astounding 1951)
With his upscale department store steadily losing money, Gabriel Service, Sr. (Lewis Stone) is forced to discharge some of his employees, including an unenterprising but loyal and long-serving Tim Benton (Lionel Barrymore). Then Service returns home to his mansion to inform his family of their own financial straits; he has kept the 200-year-old family firm afloat with his own money in recent times. Neither his young adult children, Caroline and Michael, nor their stepmother Isobel take him very seriously at first, despite his repeated warnings over the past few months. Isobel has also been seeing another man behind her oblivious husband's back.
The situation becomes so dire that Philip Bendicott, one of Service's business partners, strongly urges him to sell out to Stoner, whose store chain is one of the few thriving businesses, serving a lower class clientele. Service loathes the idea, but decides he has no choice. Gossip soon spreads, especially when Stoner himself comes to inspect the department store.
Over-the-Rhine, sometimes abbreviated OTR, is a neighborhood in Cincinnati.
It is believed to be the largest, most intact urban historic district in the United States.
Over-the-Rhine was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983 with 943 contributing buildings.
It contains the largest collection of Italianate architecture in the United States, and is an example of an intact 19th-century urban neighborhood. It was developed at a time of a high rate of German immigration to Cincinnati, and became the heart of its ethnic German community for decades. When Old St. Mary's Church opened here in 1842, it was the largest church in the Ohio Valley.
Today the neighborhood has a strong arts community, and is home to two arts schools and many theatres and galleries. In the 21st century, it is considered the fastest-growing, trendiest neighborhood in the city; Over-the-Rhine has been voted 'Best Cincinnati Neighborhood' in CityBeat's Best of Cincinnati from 2011-2014. Since the early 2000s, OTR has been experiencing rapid development, with many buildings being rehabilitated for use as apartments, condos and retail spaces.
Over-the-Rhine is bordered by the neighborhoods of Downtown, CUF, Prospect Hill, Pendleton, and the West End.
Over the Rhine is an American, Ohio-based folk music band, the core of which is the husband-and-wife team of pianist/guitarist/bassist Linford Detweiler and vocalist/guitarist Karin Bergquist. The band began as a quartet with guitarist Ric Hordinski and drummer Brian Kelley. Hordinski left the band in December 1996, and Kelley continued to play into 1997 before departing. The original foursome reunited in December 2008 at The Taft Theatre (in Cincinnati) to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the formation of the band, and again in the summer of 2010 at Ric's studio, "the Monastery", to play the album "Good Dog Bad Dog" live, in its entirety.
The band's namesake and place of origin is the Cincinnati, Ohio neighborhood Over-the-Rhine. Karin attended school in Barnesville, Ohio and graduated from Barnesville High School in 1984. She then went to Malone College, located in Canton, Ohio, where she met Linford. Karin and Linford were married in the fall of 1996 in Cincinnati and several years ago relocated to a pre-Civil War farm outside of town.
This is one of those grammar points that drive people crazy. You learn a rule in school e.g. to + infinitive, and later you learn there are exceptions to this rule e.g. look forward to + ....ing. This is the reason why "look forward to" causes so many problems and drives people crazy. But, there's no need to go crazy. Just watch this video and find out all about "look forward to".

[LYRICS]
When I was younger and I hated fun
I was always looking back on what I should have done
I used to live my life in fear
Of the terrible performances that brought me here
But
I'm looking forward, I'm looking forward
I'm looking forward now
I'm looking forward, I'm looking forward
I'm looking forward now
It's hard to live your life in stride
When you feel the way I always used to feel inside
Now it's so easy that it's strange
I'm a person and the person that I am can change
So
I'm looking forward, I'm looking forward

Wake up it's another day Just remember you can choose your own fate The things that they say will fade As long as you don't act like unformed clay Think of all the things that you'll do When their words aren't constantly choking you Just ignore them and follow through With all the things that you will eventually do There will never be a better day or a better time So go ahead do it now Forget about the hate and all the lies And just remember You'll never be alone when all your friends Are right beside you We live in a world of fakes so just promise me that you won't be one When the world comes crumbling down Where will you be you'll just be sitting around Crying loudly on the ground Regretting all the things that you never done Listen clearly do you hear that sound That's the sound of turning your life around Now that you have got a clue Just be yourself and do what you want to do You say you don't know I say you're gonna have to find out You say you can't though but you're already halfway there I don't know how I'll get through this
