Loaded is an online men's lifestyle magazine. It launched as a mass-market print publication in 1994, which ceased publication in March 2015, but relaunched as a digital magazine on 11 November 2015. The content has changed, with semi-clothed women now absent.
The magazine's title font is rendered entirely in lower case, and the publication has often been termed a "lads' mag". The magazine is based in London.
History
Development and launch
Marketed with the tagline "For men who should know better", Loaded was launched in May 1994. It was originally published by IPC Media who committed to its initial development following a discussion between the company's executives and James Brown during a job interview for the editorship of New Musical Express, also part of the IPC group. In development for a year, Loaded was predicted to be a flop, but IPC considered it a low-risk investment because the advertising department of its Music & Sport division already existed and the promotional budget was minimal. IPC itself had little faith in the magazine; according to Brown the staff were initially only contracted for 3 months after the launch. Taking its title from the Primal Scream song of the same name, the magazine was founded by Mick Bunnage, Tim Southwell and Brown,

Quick Tip: Is It OK to Store Magazines Loaded?
The debate has raged, probably since the invention of the first detachable box magazine. Can you store a loaded magazine for long period of time? Or will the spring fail and lose its ability to feed reliably? Brownells Firearm Support Tech Caleb Savant weighs in. Modern high-quality tempered magazine springs will take a bit of a set, Caleb says, but after that they can sit loaded for a VERY long time before they fail. Springs wear out more from use - many repeated compression/expansion cycles - than from being stored compressed. In fact, loaded mags have sat for many DECADES, and then fed just fine when used! Caution: You get what you pay for; cheaply made mags may have cheap, poorly tempered springs, and they may fail after long-term loaded storage.

Do magazine springs lose power when loaded for years?
Old-school wisdom says to store your magazines unloaded when they're not in use to save the springs, or even to not load them to full capacity. Old-school wisdom apparently does not carry a gun every day nor have a home to defend.
Internet scientists say that magazine springs are impervious to damage from being loaded for extended periods of time and point to (probably the same) anecdote of a 1911 that was loaded back in nineteen dickety two and still "worked just fine." These same internet scientists insist - knowing that a recoil spring can last 2000-5000 rounds or more - that only the repeated loading and unloading of a magazine is what causes magazine springs to wear out. Never mind that it would take 30,000-75,000 rounds to put 2000-5000 cycles on a fifteen round magazine (if you...

GI Magazine loaded for 18 years...Guess what happens?
Around 2001, I loaded ten USGI magazines with ammo. These magazines were brand new Sanchez mags, never used or cycled. Loaded them once and they have been loaded ever since, and sitting in a safe.
I took two of the ten magazines, cycled them through a rifle and then compared their spring lengths to a new and well used spring from similar USGI magazines.
This is purely for information purposes and is not meant to be a scientific comparison. The main thing is the magazines cycled. I still have 8 more of these in the safe and may do another non scientific test in the near future.

Never mind that it would take 30,000-75,000 rounds to put 2000-5000 cycles on a fifteen round magazine (if you shoot all the ammo you load) and that round counts in that range could very likely wear out the gun as soon as the magazine spring. Never mind that shooting 30,000+ rounds through one gun with one magazine is probably something approximately 0% of gun owners ever achieve.
Is either camp right? I add more data points to a contentious argument in this video.

We take the loaded magazine test a step further, and find out what would happen if you are wearing soft Level IIIA armor (only meant to stop pistol rounds) and get hit in the magazine by 5.56 or 7.62x39.
This video WILL surprise you.
Also thanks again to http://highcomsecurity.com/ for providing this beautiful carrier and IIIA panel that I destroyed.
