The Catholic Church, also known as the Roman Catholic Church, is the largest Christian church, with more than 1.25billion members worldwide. One of the oldest religious institutions in the world, it has played a prominent role in the history of Western civilisation.Headed by the Bishop of Rome, known as the Pope, its doctrines are summarised in the Nicene Creed. The Catholic Church is also notable within the Western Christian tradition for its celebration of the seven sacraments.
Following the establishment of the Spanish missions in California, the Holy See established the Diocese of the Two Californias in 1840, when the Los Angeles region was still part of Mexico. In 1848, present-day California was ceded to the United States, and the U.S. portion of the diocese was renamed the Diocese of Monterey. The diocese was renamed the Diocese of Monterey-Los Angeles in 1859, and the episcopal see was moved to Los Angeles upon the completion of the Cathedral of Saint Vibiana in 1876. Los Angeles split from Monterey to become the Diocese of Los Angeles-San Diego in 1922. The diocese was split again in 1936 to create the Diocese of San Diego, and the Los Angeles see was elevated to an archdiocese. The archdiocese's present territory was established in 1976, when Orange County was split off to establish the Diocese of Orange.
Catholic and Catholicism refer to the beliefs and practices of various groups of Christians sharing beliefs such as continuity with early Christianity, practices including liturgical worship, and governance structures such as a hierarchy led by bishops. The terms are often associated with the Catholic Church, also known as the Roman Catholic Church, however several churches use these terms to describe their practices and beliefs.
The Big East Conference (stylized as BIG EAST) is a collegiate athletic conference that competes in NCAADivision I in all sports except football, which is not sponsored. The conference has been officially recognized as a Division I multi-sport conference, effective on August 1, 2013.
The football-playing members of the old Big East, along with several other schools, formed the American Athletic Conference, which retains the old Big East's charter and structure. However, both conferences claim 1979 as their founding date, and the same history up to 2013.
Romané is a Chilean soap opera that was first aired on March 6, 2000 as part of the first semester prime-time lineup of soap operas on TVN. It competed against Canal 13’s Sabor A Ti.
Plot
The last time Jovanka Antich (Claudia Di Girólamo) was in Chile, she was a teenager and had a secret, torrid affair with Raphael Dominguez (Francisco Melo) the son of a local well-to-do family. The affair ended badly, with both of them believing that the other betrayed them when really it was Raphael’s mother Victoria North (Marés González) with the help of the power hungry gypsy Drago (José Soza) who tricked the young lovers into hating each other and separating.
The day they had planned to run away together Raphael doesn’t show and Jovanka leaves Mejillones alone never to tell him she is pregnant. She ends up in Spain where she has a baby girl and marries a wealthy and good gypsy. They adopt two other girls, and the three of them grow up believing they all adopted.
Jovanka has now returned to Chile, with her daughters and now a widow, after 25 years to attend her father’s wedding. Her father, Melquíades (Héctor Noguera) has brought his whole tribe with him to Mejillones where he plans on marrying the young beauty Milenka California (Blanca Lewin). Jovanka finds herself once again in this town that brings back so many memories.
It’s not long before Jovanka runs into Raphael again, and Victoria comes to tell her to leave. Remembering all the pain of the past, still hurt and humiliated from Raphael’s abandonment, she shouts for the whole town to hear and know that the day Raphael Dominguez dies she will share her fortune and gold with everyone in the town.
ROMAN (with the DAC division) is a truck and bus manufacturer from Brașov, Romania. The company was established after World War II on the foundation of the old ROMLOC automotive factory built in 1921. In the spirit of the communist days, the industrial plant was named Steagul Roşu (Red Flag). As of 2000 almost 750,000 trucks had been produced.
History
In 1954, the first batch of SR-101 trucks came out of the factory. The SR-101 was in fact a clone of the ZIS-150 Soviet truck and it came with the same specifications.
In 1958 the company decided to produce a new type, as the SR-101 no longer complied with international vehicle standards. The new design used a Ford Y-block pattern V8 gasoline engine of 140 HP, and its cab has been designed at the Chausson Plant in France. The first V8 SR-131 truck of 3-ton load named Carpati was produced in the summer of 1960, and from 1962 the SR-132 model of 2.5 tons load and 4x4 transmission. In 1964 it started the production of the series named Bucegi, SR-113 a truck of 5-ton load and SR-114 of 4-ton load and 4×4 transmission. Generally, these trucks included all the western technology elements of the time. The range had been completed in five years by the following versions: military vehicle, long vehicle, tip-lorry, crane, forward cab. Torpedo, Perkins, Saviem and Mercedes diesel engines were used for export products.

The Confusing Hierarchy of the Catholic Church
The bishop of Rome, better known as the pope, is at the top of the hierarchy of the Catholic Church. Below him are the cardinals, who pick the next pope. Then there are the archbishops and the bishops. Then the priests, then the deacons, then the non-clergy, the laity. It’s a ladder that can be confusing. In this episode of Intrigued Mind, we are taking a look at the sometimes confusing ladder of authority for the biggest church in the world.

The Catholic Church has a history that spans over two thousand years, and it began with none other than Jesus Christ himself. At least, that is what modern popes believe. But at first, there was just one church, and there was no division between Catholics, Protestants, Eastern Orthodox, and other branches of Christianity. Christians all over the known world were united, and together, they made their spirituality bloom. Their religion took over the lives of villagers, nobles, kings, queens, and even newly-arrived pagan armies that came to conquer Europe.
