The King's Singers are a Britisha cappellavocal ensemble founded in 1968. They are named after King's College in Cambridge, England, where the group was formed by six choral scholars. In the United Kingdom, their popularity peaked in the 1970s and early 1980s. Thereafter they began to reach a wider international audience, appearing frequently on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson in the U.S. In 1987, they were prominently featured as guests on the Emmy Award winning ABC-TV special Julie Andrews: The Sound of Christmas.
Today the ensemble travels worldwide for its performances, appearing in around 125 concerts each year, mostly in Europe, the U.S. and the Far East, having recently added the People's Republic of China to their list of touring territories. In recent years the group have had several UK appearances at the Royal Albert Hall Proms and concerts as part of the Three Choirs Festival and the City of London Festival.
History
The group has always consisted of six singers in total, with their membership changing over the years. None of the original members remain. The first stable incarnation of the group, from late 1969 until 1978, comprised:
"Linstead Market" is a Jamaican folk song of the mento type that tells of a mother who goes to the market with her ackee fruit but does not sell any, with the result that her children will go hungry.
History
Possibly the earliest publication of the tune with words occurs in Walter Jekyll's 1907 book, Jamaican Song and Story, as item 121, pages 219-220. In Jekyll, the lyrics are as follows:
In Helen H. Roberts' collection of folk song variants based on field work in Jamaica, published in 1925, the version in Jekyll is reproduced, followed by twelve variants. In some of these, "Sollas market" replaces "Linstead market". (Sollas market became Jubilee Market, located on West Queen Street in Kingston.)
For example, Roberts includes a version as sung in Christiana:
Sold me akee, go to Sollas market.
Not a quatty would sell.
Sold me akee, go to Sollas market.
Not a quatty would sell.
So whole o' Saturday night,
so not a light, not a bite.
So not a quatty would sell.
Close to Ewarton and Windalco Ewarton works, a large aluminum plant employing many of the local population. Often employing a job share scheme as work in the area is scarce.
It holds a Grand Market celebration each Christmas Eve when people come out and fill the streets, small shops sell toys and other Christmas gifts, and events and parties are held in the square.
It was popularized in the song Linstead Market.

This anthem - originally written by Harry Dixon Loes as a Christian children's song - became a musical symbol of the civil rights movement in the 1960s and 70s. It's a song that brought people together at that time of challenge and strife, united by its central message of confidence and peace. The arrangement was made by Stacey V. I'll Be Your Strength | Erin & Jay | Linstead
It's hard seeing the person you love suffer and spiraling, but Jay isn't letting the fact, that they're 'cooling it' stand in his way to be there for Erin, when she spirals after Nadia's death. He tries his best to still be there for her and be her strength.
And it turns out, that he's the only one who can pull her out, because when it seems he's not gonna make it, she's there for him.
Always til the end.
I tried to be true to the storyline, so I only used scenes from the L&O crossover and CPD episodes 2x21 - 3x01.

Jay's POV
Continues right after the end of Part 1, in which Jay is confronted with a near death experience. Jay realizes what's really the most important thing in his life and he decides to go after the thing he really wants and makes him happy.
In this part Jay and Erin catch up and reconnect while Jay thinks of all the reasons why his life is just better with her in it.

Here is the second single from our EP, 'The Library, Vol. 4. It's an arrangement that's been in the library for a few decades now, and it's a total gem. The song is iconic, the harmony is delicious, and our instrumental collaborators are wonderful. The film comes from A Fly on the Wall productions.

Gibbs for our 'Finding Harmony' album which we released in 2020.

It's hard seeing the person you love suffer and spiraling, but Jay isn't letting the fact, that they're 'cooling it' stand in his way to be there for Erin, when she spirals after Nadia's death. He tries his best to still be there for her and be her strength.
And it turns out, that he's the only one who can pull her out, because when it seems he's not gonna make it, she's there for him.
Always til the end.
I tried to be true to the storyline, so I only used scenes from the L&O crossover and CPD episodes 2x21 - 3x01.
Happy New Year Linstead fans.

Jay gets shot and has a kind of out-of-body-experience.
He's aware what happening around him, he watches everything what's going on from outside his body, but he's not able to intact with anyone and then there's also another complete different world he sees. It's not clear what's real and what's not.
I was a little bit disappointed how they resolved the cliffhanger of 7x09. It seems like Jay getting shot was just a little story in the background and didn't get the attention it deserved, so I changed it to how I would've liked to have seen it.

Why do I do, just as you say Why must I just, give you your way Why do I sigh, why don't I try to forget It must have been, That something lovers call fate Kept me saying: "I have to wait" I saw them all, Just couldn't fall 'til we met It had to be you, it had to be you I wandered around, and finally found The somebody who Could make me be true, And could make me be blue And even be glad, just to be sad Thinking of you Some others I've seen, Might never be mean Might never be cross, Or try to be boss But they wouldn't do For nobody else, gave me a thrill With all your faults, I Love you still It had to be you, wonderful you It had to be you
