Shortest Reigning Monarchs From History
► Hello everyone and nice to see you back. Kings, queens and emperors come and go, but who was the shortest reigning monarch in history? While Queen Elizabeth II is officially the world's longest reigning monarch with her 69 years old tenure, other monarchs from history were not so lucky. Luis Filipe, the Prince Royal of Portugal was the eldest son and heir of the King of Portugal, Carlos I. On the 1st February 1908, when he was just 20, he and his family were returning to Lisbon, when they were attacked by revolutionaries. Carlos I died immediately, while Luis Filipe himself was fatally wounded, still alive for an excruciating twenty minutes. As he was next in line for the monarch, he subsequently became King of Portugal for the same brief period following the assassination of his father....

Kingdom of Aragon
The Kingdom of Aragon (Aragonese: Reino d'Aragón, Catalan: Regne d'Aragó, Latin: Regnum Aragonum, Spanish: Reino de Aragón) was a medieval and early modern kingdom in the Iberian Peninsula, corresponding to the modern-day autonomous community of Aragon, in Spain. It should not be confused with the larger Crown of Aragon, that also included other territories — the County of Barcelona and other Catalan Counties, the Kingdom of Valencia, the Kingdom of Majorca, and other possessions nowadays part of France, Italy, and Greece — that were also under the rule of the King of Aragon, but were administered separately from the Kingdom of Aragon.

Jean III de Grailly: captal de Buch (1331 - 1376)
This video is about French knight... who fought for English, but was called by Jean Froissart as an example of XIV century chivalry! How?!
Well, interesting, but rather sad story of a man I mentioned many timed in my videos, so, introducing Jean III de Grailly more ofter called as captal de Buch!
Remember, if you are struggling with my bad pronunciation, I make subtitles for each video! Be my guest to turn them on!
P.S. Again, many thanks to my patron Holy Father!

Winchester's Royal Wedding Banquet
Join Dr Elena Woodacre and Professor Chris Woodacre for a fascinating talk and discussion, chaired by Dr Gabby Storey. It was first live streamed on 15th September during the 2021 Heritage Open Days festival.
In this talk our experts reflect on a royal wedding feast from 1403 which was held to celebrate the wedding of Henry IV and his bride, Joan of Navarre. The king was keen to use this opportunity to ‘splash the cash’ and project majesty, to impress not only his bride but his subjects - some of whom were a bit wary considering that only a few years prior he had taken the throne from his cousin Richard II. Amazingly, the menu from this historical event has survived, so we know exactly which lavish dishes which were served to their guests over 600 years ago.

SUMMARY
=======
The monarchs of the Kingdom of France and its predecessors (and successor monarchies) ruled from the establishment of the Kingdom of the Franks in 486 until the fall of the Second French Empire in 1870, with several interruptions.
Sometimes included as 'Kings of France' are the kings of the Franks of the Merovingian dynasty, which ruled from 486 until 751, and of the Carolingians, who ruled until 987 (with some interruptions).
The Capetian dynasty, the male-line descendants of Hugh Capet, included the first rulers to adopt the title of 'King of France' for the first time with Philip II (r. 1180–1223).
The Capetians ruled continuously from 987 to 1792 and again from 1814 to 1848. The branches of the dynasty which ruled after 1328, however, are generally given the specific branch names of Valois (until 1589) and Bourbon (until 1848).
During the brief period when the French Constitution of 1791 was in effect (1791–92) and after the July Revolution in 1830, the style of "King of the French" was used instead of "King of France (and Navarre)". It was a constitutional innovation known as popular monarchy, which linked the monarch's title to the French people rather than to the possession of the territory of France.With the House of Bonaparte, "Emperors of the French" ruled in 19th-century France between 1804 and 1814, again in 1815, and between 1852 and 1870.

In this video titled EU4 A to Z - Brabant SHOULD NOT Be This POWERFUL I do a playthrough as Brabant in Europa Universalis 4 1.32 Origins. This is the series titled A to Z where I attempt to play every* nation in EU4 in alphabetical order. Of course I had to remove some nations so the challenge doesn't get too boring. In this video I play as the nation of Brabant, and I attempt to conquer every province in the Low Countries region while also attempting to form The Netherlands! So let's see if I managed to do it! I hope you guys enjoy this series. If you enjoyed this video consider leaving a like and subscribing for more content in the future.

SUMMARY
=======
The Hundred Years' War was a series of conflicts waged from 1337 to 1453 by the House of Plantagenet, rulers of the Kingdom of England, against the French House of Valois, over the right to rule the Kingdom of France. Each side drew many allies into the war. It was one of the most notable conflicts of the Middle Ages, in which five generations of kings from two rival dynasties fought for the throne of the largest kingdom in Western Europe. The war marked both the height of chivalry and its subsequent decline, and the development of strong national identities in both countries.
Tensions between the crowns of France and England can be traced back to the origins of the English royal family itself, which was French (Norman, and later, Angevin) in origin. For this reason, English monarchs had historically held not only the English crown, but also titles and lands within France, the possession of which made them vassals to the kings of France. The status of the English king's French fiefs was a major source of conflict between the two monarchies throughout the Middle Ages. French monarchs systematically sought to check the growth of English power, stripping away lands as the opportunity arose, particularly whenever England was at war with Scotland, an ally of France. Over the centuries, English holdings in France had varied in size, at some points dwarfing even the French royal domain; by 1337, however, only Gascony was left to the English.
In 1316, a principle was established denying women succession to the French throne (later retroactively attributed to the ancient Salic law). In 1328, Charles IV of France died without sons or brothers. His closest male relative was his nephew Edward III of England, whose mother, Isabella of France, was sister of the deceased king. SUMMARY
=======
Isabella claimed the throne of France for her son, but the French rejected it, maintaining that Isabella could not transmit a right she did not possess. Furthermore, political sentiment favoured a Frenchman for the crown rather than a foreign prince.
Isabella claimed the throne of France for her son, but the French rejected it, maintaining that Isabella could not transmit a right she did not possess. Furthermore, political sentiment favored a Frenchman for the crown rather than a foreign prince. The throne passed instead to Philip, Count of Valois, a patrilineal cousin of Charles IV, who would become Philip VI of France, the first king of the House of Valois. The English had not expected their claim to meet with success, and did not press the matter when it was denied. However, disagreements between Philip and Edward induced the former to confiscate the latter's lands in France, and in turn prompted Edward III to reassert his claim to the French throne.
Several overwhelming English victories in the war—especially at Crécy, Poitiers, and Agincourt—raised the prospects of an ultimate English triumph, and convinced the English to continue pouring money and manpower into the war over many decades. However, the greater resources of the French monarchy prevented the English kings from ever completing the conquest of France. Starting in 1429, decisive French victories at Orléans, Patay, Formigny, and Castillon concluded the war in favour of the House of Valois, with England permanently losing most of its possessions on the continent.
Historians commonly divide the war into three phases separated by truces: the Edwardian War (1337–1360), the Caroline War (1369–1389), and the Lancastrian War (1415–1453). Local conflicts in neighbouring areas, which were contemporarily related to the war, including the War of the Breton Succession (1341–1365), the Castilian Civil War (1366–1369), the War of the Two Peters (1356–1369) in Aragon, and the 1383–85 crisis in Portugal, were availed by the parties to advance their agendas. Later historians adopted the term "Hundred Years' War" as a historiographical periodization to encompass all of these events, thus constructing the longest military conflict in European history.

The Reconquista - Part 3 History of Navarre
The struggle between Christian and Muslim states of the Iberian peninsula continue. The great Umayyad Caliphate of Cordoba crumbles and gives the Reconquista a chance to go from the defensive to the offensive. In the Northeastern portion of the peninsula, the Kingdom of Pamplona comes into being under her shrewd King, Sancho III. In time she will become the Kingdom of Navarre and will add her own chapter to the war of reconquest.

Hey Explorers! In the final installment of our Road Trip series, we find ourselves in Navarre Beach. Here we tried to do everything we could in the area but we were limited to one full day and part of the next morning before we had to head home to the Tampa area. This place was amazing and if you are looking for the beach life, this place does not disappoint! It has everything from beautiful emerald colored water to white sandy beach under the sun. Check out this video for ideas while visiting this place!

Navarre is a census-designated place and unincorporated community in Santa Rosa County in the northwest Florida Panhandle. It is a major bedroom community for mostly U.S. military personnel, federal civil servants, local population, retirees and defense contractors.
