Tim Lewis (born December 18, 1961) is an American football coach and former cornerback. Lewis played college football for the University of Pittsburgh, and was drafted in the first round of the 1983 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers. He played four NFL seasons before his playing career ended, and thereafter became a college and professional coach.
Playing career
Lewis was a first round pick (11th player chosen overall) out of the University of Pittsburgh by the Green Bay Packers in the 1983 NFL Draft. A standout cornerback, he was considered to be one of the more skilled players on what was a relatively weak Packers team. He led or shared the team in interceptions in 1983 & 1985, finishing with a career total of 16. His 99-yard interception return for a touchdown against the Los Angeles Rams on November 18, 1984, remains the Packer team record. His career was cut short by a severe neck injury suffered in a Monday Night game against the Chicago Bears in the third week of the 1986 season.
2012 Lewis was unopposed for both the June 5, 2012 Republican Primary, winning with 1,133 votes and the November 6, 2012 General election, winning with 8,319 votes.
2010 To challenge District 60 incumbent Democratic Representative Jack Thomas, Tonya Harris was unopposed for the June 1, 2010 Republican Primary; after Harris withdrew, Lewis was placed on the November 2, 2010 General election ballot, and won with 6,980 votes (60.9%) against Representative Thomas.
Tim Lewis (born 26 October 1967) is a British basketball coach who is currently an assistant coach for the NBA Development League's Raptors 905. He has previously served as an assistant coach for the Bakersfield Jam.
Coaching career
Lewis began coaching in 1990s before serving as Director of Coaching for the Sevenoaks Suns between 2004 and 2007. In 2008, he was head coach of the New York Strikeforce. He then spent two years coaching the now-defunct Essex Pirates before spending the 2011–12 season as the Director of Basketball at the Sheffield Sharks.
On July 28, 2015, Lewis was named an assistant coach for Raptors 905.
Between 2006 and 2012, Lewis served as the head coach of the Great Britain U20 national team and as an assistant with the Great Britain senior national team. In June 2014, he was appointed an assistant coach for the Panama national basketball team.
A lewis (sometimes called a lewisson) is one of a category of lifting devices used by stonemasons to lift large stones into place with a crane, chain block, or winch. It is inserted into a specially prepared hole, or seating, in the top of a stone, directly above its centre of mass. It works by applying principles of the lever and utilises the weight of the stone to act on the long lever-arms which in turn results in a very high reaction force and friction where the short lever-arms make contact with the stone inside the hole and thereby prevents slipping.
Etymology
The name lewis may come from the Latinlevo -avi, -atum meaning to levitate or lift, but the Oxford English Dictionary Online states, "the formation and the phonology are not easily explained on this hypothesis", preferring "origin obscure", and speculating that the term may derive from a personal name. The Romans used the lewis. The specially shaped hole that is shaped to fit the device is known as a lewis hole. Lewis holes in the uppermost masonry coursings are neatly repaired with matching indented plugs after the stone has been set in place.
Lewis is a crater on the far side of the Moon. It lies along the western edge of the Montes Cordillera mountains that surround the Mare Orientale impact basin. This crater has been heavily disrupted by the formation of the basin, and it is covered by ejecta from the impact leaving only an uneven depression in the surface. The outer rim is roughly circular, and the interior is uneven.

Your grand dad left home for the circus. He was young just like me, with hope to explore. He married a girl in Virginia. She could swing the trapeze; they could sleep on the floor. Your mother was born in December, on the one sunny day that winter gave up. She had warm summer eyes that flickered like fireflies, when she stared at the world. So why do you leave these stories unfinished, my Cheshire cat doorstop with tears in her eyes? Why do you look when you've already found it? What did you find that could leave you walking by? She was raised in a New England village. Then she moved to LA with her firefly stare, and you loved sunset strip when it sparkled, you grew up and you sparkled but why don't you care? So why do you leave these stories unfinished, my Cheshire cat doorstop with tears in her eyes? Why do you look when you've already found me? What did you find that could leave you walking by? These nights I get high just from breathing. When I lie here with you I'm sure that I'm real, like that firework over the freeway. I could stay here all day but that's not how you feel. So why do you leave these questions unanswered? The circus awaits and you're already gone. My Cheshire cat doorstop with fear in your smile, what makes it so easy for you to be walking by? And what did I do that you can't seem to want me? Why do we lie here and whisper goodbyes? Where can I go that your pictures won't haunt me?
