Asteroid 2008 Go20 Of A Stadium Size Will Pass Close To Earth On July 24, 2021
According to NASA's database of Near-Earth Object, the asteroid has a diameter of 220 metres and will be flying by at a distance of 28,70,847,607 km. NASA has said that the asteroid will safely move past Earth. However, the orbit of 2008 Go20 has been classified as “Apollo”. This category holds the most dangerous asteroids. An Apollo category asteroid is one that has a Near-Earth Orbit. It gets its name from the 1862 Apollo asteroid that was discovered by the German astronomer Karl Reinmuth.

About TEDx, x = independently organised event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations.)

The asteroid has a diameter of 220 metres and will pass past at a distance of 28,70,847,607 kilometres, according to NASA's Near-Earth Object database. This is approximately eight times the Earth-Moon distance. According to NASA, the asteroid will pass Earth safely. The orbit of 2008 Go20, on the other hand, has been categorised as "Apollo." The most deadly asteroids are included in this group.A Near-Earth Orbit asteroid is classified as an Apollo type asteroid. It was named after the German astronomer Karl Reinmuth, who found the Apollo asteroid in 1862.
An asteroid is made up of fragments and debris that were left over from the formation of the solar system. According to NASA's Joint Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), an asteroid is considered a Near-Earth Object if its distance from our planet is less than 1.3 times the distance from Earth to the Sun.
Meanwhile, the asteroid 2008 Go20 will pass Earth on July 24 at 3:35 p.m. Eastern Time, which is 1:05 a.m. Sunday in India.
